  1. Company provides rental car, hotels, & some tours based on your interests .The advantage I see here is one stop shopping so you do not have to deal with each hotel, & car rental agency. You give them your interests & they do the leg work by coming up with a custom plan based on your wishes. Accomodations they provide have excellent tripadvisor reviews.

  2. I have been looking at Alaska Tours for customizing a DIY tour of Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, Girdwood, Seward, & Homer. Their prices seem very reasonable. I would like to get any feedback about this company from anyone who has used them in the past.

  3. I am looking at the NCL Pearl 10 day Alaska cruise from Vancouver to Seattle in 2016. My concern is that this is very early in the season but I like the itinerary. Would like people who have travelled this early in the season to weigh in on the pro's & cons. I know the weather is unpredictable from a past Alaska cruise but is this too early? Would hate not to see Glacier Bay again.

  4. I read your review of your Alaska cruise & land tour. I am from New Iberia & in the process of planning a DIY land tour of Alaska. I have already done the cruise so we are planning on flying in to Anchorage. Could you please share some specifics of your trip like hotels, rental car agency, etc. We want to go to Denali, Seward, Homer, Girdwood. Any insights would be helpful to another Ragin Cajun.

  5. We did Alaska cruise out of Seattle with NCL on the Pearl & used their airfare. It was great. We flew out of New Orleans to Salt Lake City then to Seattle. NCL handled it all including shuttles to & from Seatac. We used their bags program when cruise ended & never saw luggage until we returned to New Orleans. Airfare cost was comparable to if we had booked independently. We were very pleased & would not hesitate to use them again.

  6. We booked our precruise hotel through NCL for Alaska & stayed in the Crowne Plaza in Seattle. We were very pleased. The hotel was very nice & the restaurant food was very good. I would definitely stay there again & was pleased with the rate NCL gave us. It was nice not to have to worry about handling our luggage to the pier.

Were you satified with the NCL portion of the tour? If you had to do it over again would you still choose NCL or would you do a DIY land portion. I a considering the Authentic Alaska tour for next June & have found very few reviews of the NCL land portion fo the cruise tour. Do they provide you enough free time at each land site to do activities on your own? Is most of your time spent on the bus or train traveling from place to place. Any additional specifics you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for a great review & great photos.

  8. Thanks for the review. We have communicated in the past about this tour and since you are the first person that has given an extensive review on Authentic Alaska by NCL I am eager to hear as much from you as possible.

I would like to know now that you have completed it - would you have rather done the land portion as a diy tour? Also, is there much free time or is all your time spent travelling by bus or train? Did you have a balcony on the ship? Do you have any information & costs for the extra land tour options that are available at each land stop.

As you can see there is a lot I would like to know from you - so any specifics would be great. We had planned doing NCL authentic next June but are reconsidering & may do a diy land tour after cruise. We have sailed Alaska on the Pearl in the past & loved the ship but are hesitant about the Sun.

Hope you can share more details. Glad you enjoyed your trip!!
