  1. ALL of the Meet and Greets I have attended  (about 30) have been thoroughly enjoyable and provided a perfect opportunity to make long time cruise friends that I still talk/cruise with 10 years later. 🙂

They DO seem to attract a mostly older crowd... instead of young pups (65) like me. 😁

Next up is the 16 night Diamond to Hawaii cruise and we have 100 people signed up. 😉

I have been on Celebrity transatlantic cruises with 600 and 800 people in attendance. 😵

Nobody is FORCED to attend... but I rather enjoy meeting new people.

You were misinformed. 😮  It all goes to Princess IT folks for doing such a great job. 🤣

We will be losing $ 650 each and would rather not.  BTW we should have known this.

There are two dozen Princess cruises before the end of the year from Fort Lauderdale.

Some of them at prices that offer exceptional value. Why not enjoy a short fused vacation?

My suggestions would be 10 nighter Caribbean or Panama Canal cruises on the Caribbean, Island or Enchanted.

Many posters on her have said to use a BC as a backup for paperwork.  Are they all wrong or are you the only one right one?

YES... "they" are all wrong. The poster you are responding to IS right... but he is far from being the "only one" who is right.

Several people here have posted (and documented) that a passport was/is required for THAT cruise.

Other posters here have also said the "advising T/A" is wrong. Which is right.

First booking ever with Princess. Called and price is $100 more pp on call. He can't honor Princess website price. Asked to speak to a supervisor and said none available. What the heck?

There are large, well known online travel agencies that (almost) always offer prices lower than what you can get directly from any of the cruise lines. They offer ADDITIONAL OBC and added perks that are NOT offered by the cruise lines. No waiting for HOURS on hold... no getting transferred from one clueless agent to another.  Book through them instead of through the cruise lines. I have done so for over 10 years and over 35 cruises... (the most recent was just yesterday) with NEVER a complaint.

  7. Just got off the Sky Princess yesterday, the 14 days from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale. The bed was  wonderful, same for the comforter and pillows. Slept like a baby over those two weeks, I would strongly recommend that you book a trip on the Sky. 😉

First thing I would do is compare the prices. We are doing a 15 day Panama Canal cruise from LA to Miami on the NCL Joy in January. The cost was $4760. A similar booking on the Emerald in January looks like over $9000. That is for a balcony cabin with no couch and only a desk chair.

You should consider booking your cruises with someone else. A quick search revealed a 15 night Panama Canal cruise on Emerald Princess, January 2nd through January 17th, in a balcony cabin for $2249pp with an additional $443pp for port charges, taxes and fees.

same here, can't get in. Also got an email thanking me for my loyalty, (on an email regarding my next cruise).

Said I had 20 days with Princess  when I actually have 805 days ,and 70 cruises, when I have 76.At least it said we were elite so they got that right.

The 20 days are actually the number of days on my next cruise. So trying to get on the site to make sure my history wasn't wiped out.

I had a similar (but not as bad as your) problem with Princess IT.  They "lost" SIX cruises totaling 103 nights. It has taken DOZENS of calls and emails and over TEN MONTHS to get my cruise history reinstated.

You said you couldn’t load your security photo on the Web. I know of no way to do it online via the web only the Ocean Ready app

You can indeed upload your security photo without using the "APP from Hell,"  I've done it.

They may not being screwing up guest booking records at HAL and mixing up names and birthdates.  But what about the phone reps?

Princess IT is a whole other story and they seem to be a bunch of bumbling amateurs that use guests as testing guineas.

After TEN  *L*O*N*G*  MONTHS, a dozen phone calls, and MANY hours talking to (and on hold with) numerous customer service reps, MY nightmare scenario with Princess has FINALLY been resolved.

When I logged into my personalizer, someone else's name, birthdate and security photo was there!  Princess IT also managed to "LOSE" any and all record of SIX cruises and 103 nights, out of my NINE cruises and 148 nights with them. Here's the text of the email I finally received...

    Good day Mr. C

Thank you so much for your email and the information you provided. We were able to find your cruises because of this and have added them back to your account. We have sent a request over to our IT dept. in the hopes that they will be able to see why this happened. In the meantime,  please see your member number below. We have also refreshed your upcoming sailings to reflect your Platinum status.

If I had not kept old emails from Princess showing the booking numbers and dates of those "lost" cruises, I expect they would STILL be "lost."

I am looking for some input on my PVP and her behavior, and some insight as to the best way to handle this. Several months ago, I called my PVP to get assistance in booking a cruise. There was no response. Over a period of 10 days I made 3 phone calls and left a VM with each. I also emailed twice and even found her FB page and sent a message with that app. No response to any of these.

So we booked the cruise ourselves. Is there a way to get rid of a PVP?

    Your thoughts please.

I doubt that we will use another either.  It would be wonderful to find a terrific TA but that is tough as well

We have the SAME problem. ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE FROM OUR PVP. This seems common and is just not acceptable.

Your options are to try CHAT, OR, find your own independent travel agent.

There are MANY people who simply WILL NOT believe this... but you almost always will loose money and/or OBC/perks by booking directly. There are online cruise/travel agencies with lower prices and/or more perks.

I also own OBC qualifying NCL and RCL stock.  If CCL OBC went away the competition would become a stronger option for my vacation $$$$.

    Me too!

Agree completely.  I cruised exclusively with Celebrity for five years... never less than 14 nights at a time. Their penny wise and utterly pound foolish idea to not allow shareholder OBC to be combined with other benefits 😠 is what caused me to seek greener pastures.

Princess gives me an absolute MINIMUM of $500 OBC every time I set foot on one of their ships. (I don't book cruises that are less than 14 nights) I know that $500 OBC "costs" them less than $50 but makes me a very, VERY happy Crooners' Camper. 😄

    Exactly.

And, certainly in the UK at the moment, Princess if offering all passengers up to $300 per cabin OBC.  I sense that, if financial constraints mean cutting OBC, this type of offer will disappear before they even think about cutting shareholder OBC.

If that $300 of OBC, (which "costs" them less than 50 bucks) gets them even FIVE bookings, they are MANY thousands of dollars ahead... with opportunities for thousands more spent on board.

The only thing a corporation cares about is profit.

When hemorrhaging cash, they find ways to cut back.

400 stockholders on a single two week sailing will cost them $100,000.00.

Martinis "cost" the cruiser $14.00. Martinis "cost" the cruise line less than a buck.

$100,000 at "retail." Actual "cost" to the cruise line... I would wager at well under $5,000.

The BENEFIT to the cruise line from happy cruisers... PRICELESS.

Do you think cruise lines will "cut back" on their comped casino cruises? Not a CHANCE.

  14. I have done NINE cruises on Princess for a total of 148 nights.

Princess has "LOST" any record (booking numbers) of SIX of those cruises, a total of 103 nights.

I have emails from Princess... to me... showing the six "lost" booking numbers and my progression to Platinum. Captain's Circle reps at corporate have utterly ignored any and all communication from me on several different occasions.

It seems they expect ME to forget those 103 cruise nights worth of loyalty just like they did.

I am planning on presenting hard copies of those emails and even all of my saved cruise cards from those trips to the Captain's Circle rep on my upcoming cruise. I can't wait to hear their explanation.

  15. I would take 712 0ver 720. Closer to stairs/elevator but still VERY little traffic past your door.

Probably some noise during the day from the Wake View Bar/pool deck above you, but probably not so much real early or real late. The video from post #3 above gives you a good idea of what is overhead.

Was on Enchanted for 10 days in January, and will be again for her 14 day transatlantic in March '23. The ship is nothing short of Drop Dead GORGEOUS.
