  1. Sailing on Sunrise 4 dayer next month (Key West, Cozumel). I am guessing they will have formal night on Key West or Cozumel night - not the the last night at sea. Can anyone that knows confirm?
  2. Yes, this is the way I read it too. The first 2 are included, each additional will be $5 each.
  3. Thanks all! That helps. Just decided last minute this week to book for January (and we submitted the passports right after we returned from our last cruise - they were expiring in like 5 weeks lol). Just keep my fingers crossed they show up in time. Just a short jaunt to Key West at Cozumel so not overly worried, and at least birth certificate and license will still do it.
  4. Sometimes it is pretty quick, but as others have said it can be right up until you sail. We have done this maybe 4 to 6 times, and my personal experience has always been that we had our room assignment WELL before we sailed (at least several weeks minimum). Sometimes we had it assigned within just a week or so of booking. I will say, for the most part we don't do it because we know there is always a chance you will end up in a room you don't like, but we have been lucky. All assigned rooms we have received have been very good and a room we might have picked ourselves.
  5. I know I received a letter a few weeks back from Carnival about this very thing. They are limiting main entrees to just 2 now, any extras were an upcharge. I think it said $5. I didn't pay that much attention because I have never ordered more than 2 entrees (and usually just 1!). It only said entrees though. Nothing about desserts or apps.
  6. Soooo wondering if anyone has run into this before? And what Carnival's policy is. We sent in the renewal on our passports over 5 weeks ago and expect they should be back before we cruise in 7 more weeks. However, my back up plan was good old fashioned birth certificate, photo id, etc. if we had to. If I check in my 16 days before I cruise and have to mark "birth certificate" can I go back and change and reprint docs before we leave house to fly out if passport suddenly arrives? Never had to go back in and change anything after we were all checked in or last minute. Worst case I would guess if I have it in hand, they can switch it to passport at the port when we get there? Just know makes it way easier to get off ship with passport on file. (Since they put it in, we have only ever had to do the facial recognition and walk out, no customs or anything. Cruised with brother and sister in law 2 months ago and they didn't have passport, they got sent to a different line and had to see a customs agent)
  7. Thanks all! Decided to just do it the old fashioned way we used to pre-Covid when traveling with mom and dad. Since hubby and I are both diamond, I just had them swap mom and hubby into each others rooms. That way, both rooms are Diamond. 😉
  8. I remember a letter coming out a month or so ago about changes to the boarding process again, for Platinum and Diamond as well. So, was wondering if anyone sailing recently could advise. We are diamond and are traveling with Parents who are not. We did a family cruise in September with 6 of us (3 rooms), and I just selected the same boarding time for all of us, and we all had the same boarding zone. We boarded everyone together. But that was before the "new" changes. 1. Do you still check in 16 days before hand for diamond and 14 days before for those who are not? 2. Do you get a specific boarding time and zone when you do your check in? (figure if this is the same we will just wait and do check in for both room at same time and whatever boarding zone we get we will all board together again). 3. If faster to the fun is pack, how does this play into all this? (Wondering if they should buy faster to the fun or not?) I know standard procedure before was they just called Wedding, Diamond, Platinum, and then Faster to the Fun - then general boarding by zones. Not sure if that is what they are doing now? Or is it all determined by your boarding pass, when you check in, and what zone you get on that. So very confusing post Covid lol. Any help is appreciated.
