  1. Hi Stef,

continuing to love the photographs ,but must say that I struggled to identify some of the food ,good job my sister speaks (and can read) Italian or we would be in a right pickle!!

Is it wishful thinking to ask if they have smoked salmon for breakfast :). Also do they serve porriage/oatmeal.

Other than being served by waiters, why did you prefer to eat breakfast in the dining room-was the food nicer. What were the evening meals like?.

    Enough questions about food .

Now--what on earth did you get up to in Dublin. I will have to wait untill I get back from my cruise before I can find out!! I have a friend who lives in Dublin, maybe I will telephone her and ask if there has been any International Incidents involving passsengers from MSC :D:D.

    Cheers.

  2. Hi Stef,

    food pictures ,brilliant :).

I agree with you about crowded buffets,P&O,Princess,RCCCL,Carnival-they are all the same. The most manic was Independence of the Seas last year.

Although they get crowded I do love the buffets, and from your photographs the food looks just fine to me,as long as I can get coffee and eggs I will be happy.Looking forward to more food pics before I leave for my cruise.;).

Recieved our e-tickets yesterday so very excited.MSC does not give any information of any formal or theme nights,so apart from the Italian night you posted about -are there any others?.

    Thanks.

  3. Hf,Stef,

loving the photo's of the ship. It's great to be able to tour the ship before I get on,taking notes about the best places to get a nice cocktail etc.

We booked this cruise as a cheap break before winter sets in.We booked 2 inside cabins.Well-today we had confirmation e-mail from MSC that myself and my sister have an outside cabin on deck 5 right by reception ,and my parents have a balcony cabin on deck 9. We are well pleased.Together with the cabin upgrade, drink packages and free parking I think we have a bargain.:D

Stef-a bit worried about the pillows,I HATE lumpy pillows!! I know I will not be able to sleep on them.I will be asking my room attendant for extra ones ,or maybe I will try to bring one from home in my suitcase.lol. Also that blanket with a hole in it :( mmm, I think I would be asking for a replacement also.Other than that....still excited.

  4. Oh Stef-you are a mind reader!!

I have been wondering if MSC did coffee tokens, but could not find out anything from their website. I will definately be buying these :D.

I would have liked to have booked the Alegrissimo package, but I was told that all 4 of us would have to book it as otherwise we could not sit together in the dining room. Algrissimo would be brilliant for myself and my sister -but not for my parents who are not big drinkers--age 83 and 78 :) .Anyway my parents already have a drink package -14 bottles of beer and 7 bottles of water from the booking agent ,and for some reason MSC has given them the Cheers package as well---perhaps MSC do not mind drunken pensioners on their ships!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  5. Hi,

I have also had trouble with MSC.U.K trying to book excursions for our cruise in october.I have given up and will try to book when I get onboard.

I would suggest that if you cannot pre-book spa services then as soon as you board try to sort it out then. Go to customer service/reception and ask their advice. Usually most ships will have offers on spa treatments on port days.

    Regards.

  6. Hi Stef,

loving your review of the Magnifica, thanks for taking the time to write it.

A few weeks ago I booked a cruise on this ship, but for the life of me could not find any current reviews -and the one I did find was awful!!!!!!!! so glad I have found your comprehensive review.

I have sailed Princess,P&O and RCCL,and this will be the first time for myself, sister and parents on a MSC ship.Already I am loving the look of the Magnifica,so glitzy and sparkling--the more glitz and sparkles the better for me,I like it. Already I love the look of the tiger bar and that may say a lot about my taste:D.

Cant wait for you to post photo's of the food and entertainment..I very much like the look of the little bar on deck 5 where you can get coffee and chocolate--I have a feeling that this bar is not far from my cabin :)

I hope the coffee is good as I could not cope without my 5 cups a day!.

    Regards.

    Di

PS , we are sailing oct 8th from Southampton.
