  1. I am reading in the description of the excursion that was booked for me by my travelling party that Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world. So, how is the snorkeling there? I need to decide if I want to take my gear and I only have a few days!

Also, the description lists the excursion as strenuous. Is the water particularly difficult for swimming around the reef?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

  2. The OP had an IGT room. The poster you're responding to here only said they had an "inside GTY". It's possible they had an 11 GTY and got a 10 assignment.

Yes! That is EXACTLY what happened. So, a one category upgrade. Right?

I never heard of IGT so I don't know what that means. Also, this was over 10 years ago so all I recall is being told it was an upgrade.

Yes, I have a great Disney travel agent!

  3. Glad you are happy' date=' but technically you were not upgraded. You got exactly what you agreed to. An IGT means you can have any cat 10 or 11 cabin on the ship; you got a cat 10.

They do not give "bad" cabins on the *GT deals. They give whatever is unfilled by regular bookings. Nice when you get something good, isn't it?[/quote']

What does IGT mean? They told me it was an upgrade, that's all I know.

  4. we used surged protector and had no problems...put it in your carry on and not your checked luggage. when your luggage is scanned to come onboard security agents can't tell whether it is a regular strip or a surge protector. people had strips they were showing and some were surge and some were just regular extension style. Security said surge protector protects not just the guest but the crew. when the ship powers down in ports and switches to port usage, guests were complaining phones and cameras being damaged from surges.

If I put the surge protector in my carry on and they confiscate it, do I get it back at the end of the cruise? Just wondering, although it's not a big deal either way! LOL We like to use the power strip/ surge protector for phones and cameras too.

  5. Thanks to the OP and the person who created the spreadsheet (page 2 or 3?)

The page numbers change as people post on the thread. Can you point me to the NUMBER of the post? I would like to see the spreadsheet before sailing next week!

    Thanks

  6. The Adams Best Western is likely to be your most economical choice if you need to park your car and get to the port. Where are you driving from? Another option is to stay outside the city in a nice suburban hotel (usually good hotwire deals) and pay to park at the pier. Depending on where you're coming from and time of day on a Friday, getting to Quincy on the Southeast Expressway could be difficult. Driving into Boston on a Saturday morning should not be a problem.

We are coming from Pittsburgh, but I don't know about time of arrival. Most likely it will be late afternoon / early evening, probably a difficult traffic time. If there is a hotel where it is safe to park that is convenient to get to / from the port, we would prefer to do that. It really depends on the hotel and the parking availability, how often the shuttle runs to the port, time it runs, etc.

What suburban area would I request on Hotwire?

  7. Hi emt6121,

We are sailing out of Boston on Oct 29, 2011 and have booked:

    The Best Western Adams Inn

    29 Hancock Street

    Quincy, MA 02171

    617+328-1500

We searched for hotel accommodations that included these complimentary items:

    1) transportation from Logan International Airport

    2) breakfast

    3) transportation to Black Falcon Cruise Terminal

After comparing a Back Bay hotel ($100+), cab from airport ($30) and cab to cruise terminal ($15+), we decided that the Adams Inn had exactly what we wanted.

From what I remember during our hotel research, the Best Western Adams Inn does offer park 'n' cruise packages. You may want to phone the hotel directly.

I hope this information helps to answer your question.

    HappyJan

This is exactly what we are looking for - same amenities that you list. On what websited did you search?

  8. I assume with 30 people you have a bus for transportation once you disembark, so tell the driver to take your group to the Casino for a few hours before taking you to the airport.

There's plenty of shopping, dining, and gaming to pass the time.

Assume you get off the ship when you say you do.

30 people with luggage move at glacier speed, so you will not get on the bus and be ready to go for an hour. Then allow time to get to the casino.

    It's now 10:30 - 11:00 AM.

You have about 2 hours to play at the casino before gathering the troops to board the bus to the airport. Next thing you know you're at the gate waiting for your flight.

Time flies when you are having fun! It's not as long as it sounds!

Good Luck....and GOD BLESS anyone travelling with a group of 30!!! HAHA!

Yes, there will be a bus to meet us. You are right about the speed of all this happening - time does fly! Appreciate your suggestions.
