  1. Well if the complainers wouldn't complain then neither would i.

Not only do you not care about this change, you have no cruises booked and will not be on the Escape any time soon. I don't understand why you keep responding to something that has no impact to your life whatsoever. Usually paying customers get a bit more traction than those that are not. JUST SAYIN!

Email sent to Del Rio referencing the thread where someone got 7 comped meals. *We* will be on the Escape. This impacts us. I do expect NCL to honor what they advertised. I don't give one rip about what they MIGHT be legally allowed to do or not do; I expect to receive what was advertised. And now I especially expect to be comped meals at Margaritaville having read others are getting that consideration.

  2. That's not a fair comparison. There many places to eat free and it's not like you're on the ship now and suddenly found out. Anybody that's really really upset about this and not in their final three months and chooses not to cancel has no right to complain. I do however understand if you are in your final 3 months and cannot cancel being upset. Not upset enough that this earns 2 million threads because like I said there are still free options. Your scenario would have been better suited if you got on the ship and all the restaurants were pay.

What's not fair is spending a year heavily advertising something as included and then changing it.

  3. Shame on you for condoning such juvenile behavior. This obsession people have for wearing shorts in the evening is so indicative of people who have this infantile mindset of " I,M,V,A,I,W,W,I,D,W,P" and to hell with the rest of the world.

These are the same people who would not think of trying to enter the Palm Court wearing shorts.

I didn't condone anything and you have a reading and comprehension issue.

I chastised the poster for the way they spoke to others. shame on them, and shame on you as well.

The attitudes here are just simply pathetic. I never stated my preference. But I do not tell people to go away or use pejoratives like "big boy pants".

    Treat others with respect.

  4. In the next few years you will have new mega-ships from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, NCL, and Princess. There will be new mid-size ships from Celebrity and Holland America.

There will be a LOT of capacity in the Caribbean and they will have to offer good value to stay booked.

Heaven help NCL if Royal Caribbean decides to have a price war; that's a battle NCL won't be able to win, IMO.

  5. Good luck with that. I am still waiting....and it is more than two weeks.

When I sent in the form I immediately received an automated email receipt with a case number. If you did not receive this, resubmit. If you have received it call their main guest service number and reference your receipt number.

  6. I'm not to sure about that, actually.

    Harriet

NCL no longer actively participates on this board. They do not look here proactively to resolve issues. Could or does someone in management peruse here on occasion? Probably. But this is not what they consider a viable means of communication like they would with Facebook or Twitter. It's "other". We are all mostly talking amongst ourselves.

  7. No there definitely was a two hour line. I asked how long the wait was

Why do you keep ignoring the question of why you didn't just ask your butler to place an order for you? You need not have waited on line.

You missing Margaritaville is squarely your own fault and not due to any line. You paid a big premium for a butler and then didn't ask them for their services. And for you the solution is to penalize everyone that was told the food was complimentary?

  8. Unless you are a cute 2-4 year old toddler, spare us the hairy leg visual and go eat at the Oceanview cafe. Right up your alley.

However, if you want to put your Big Boy pants on, come over and dine with those of us who appreciate the fine ambience of a true dining experience and wear something that respects the venue as well as your fellow diners.

Wow, what a way with words you have.

    Shame on you. Shame.

  9. Was there a 2 hour long line that people were standing it? I feel like you just want to play devil's advocate because its fun.

    Right?

Even if NCL could make it so there was no wait time, or minimal wait time, he will still say he would prefer the pay option just to continue arguing. And NCL most certainly could keep it free, as they advertised, and make wait times minimal.

You think THIS fee is stupid? Give it a YEAR. Wait to see what kind of ridiculous fees they have onboard. A year ago you'd be laughed off the forum if you suggested a quick service hamburger would be $7 on a ship. Next year no one will be laughing at the MDR packages...

  10. ( she says with her nose in the air and her pinky up )

How about from now on we all just stay on topic... I know it shall be hard for some of you but I'm sure we can accomplish it being that we are all adults. We can disagree without personal attacks I promise you we can.

Be the change you want to see.

  11. Whatever they do I really hope Margaritaville does not go back to being free. Those lines really do get annoying.

They could EASILY eliminate the lines and keep the restaurant free. Why isn't this a problem on Carnival or Princess or HAL?

Why didn't you have your butler get you the food? No reason you would have had to be in a line at all.

I don't know why people here think you are a doctor.

Prolonging the myth only diminishes your credibility.

  12. But you didn't quote me correctly, if it's on topic I said this and I said this when I complained about it so you didn't quote me entirely. I went to the place and said how big is the burger? He said about the size of a McDonalds Burger and I said that's a lot for a small burger that I can get for a dollar at McDonalds. If the quality is worth the money I will pay anything.

You say you will pay for quality, but opted not to because of the size; so it's really more about quantity because you haven't sampled the item to say if it is quality or not. So what makes a Margaritaville burger worth $20 to you when you could get more food by quantity for $2 at McDonalds?

And no matter how good you ultimately find it; wouldn't you prefer that NCL didn't charge for it, like the had advertised?

Finally, since you were in the Haven why didn't you have the butler just call in an order and get it for you? They would have done that for you.

  13. That's their mo bring up something off the wall about me and then when I defend myself or say something back I become the bad guy. How about from now on we all just stay on topic and no more bringing random things up about me? I know it shall be hard for some of you but I'm sure we can accomplish it being that we are all adults. We can disagree without personal attacks I promise you we can.

Mentioning that in one place you state a $20 fee for burgers is ok but in another you complain about $7 burgers (in a town full of $20 burgers ironically) is not a personal attack. It's an observation and really appropriate in this thread. Not everyone that disagrees with you is attacking you. Don't be so thin skinned, we are all discussing ideas.

By the way I read that the 3 day sailed with 90% occupancy. That ship will sail the Caribbean in the summer at 110% occupancy. I'd love to see the deck chair situation then...

  14. If I were running things I would have done the following

    Breakfast free from 8AM - 10:30 AM

    Closed 10:30AM - 11:30AM for changeover.

    Lunch free from 11:30AM - 5:00PM.

Closed 5:00PM until 6:00PM for changeover.

Open for Dinner, with a charge, and more upscale menu than lunchtime nachos and burgers from 6:00PM - 10:00PM.

I also would have scaled back the free items on Breakfast and Lunch to help with kitchen production speed and reduce waste.

Then you would go from 5 hours per day open, to stretching it out to 12 hours a day. You can have a nicer menu at night worth paying additional for, but still have complimentary meals twice a day. This would probably alleviate a lot of lines and keep most, if not all, people reasonably happy. If they introduce dinner for a charge I'd say yes, that is an additional option to consider. But removing breakfast entirely and making lunch a la carte was a very bad move. NCL could easily have made these changes and shown they cared about the customer experience. But they only want the money. All they are going to do is increase lines everywhere else.

If charges cut down on lines, then when are they going to start charging at O'Sheehans? Let's have the armchair MBA;s in here answer that.

*IF* we go and bring kids they can order the FREE kids menu cheeseburger and fries that NCL says all kids under 12 can order at any specialty restaurant. And maybe we will just sit and order drinks from the UBP...

  15. My guess is if they are not allowing 3-12 year olds to order they are not gonna let a 2 year old order - They are probably assuming that 2 year old will either off the parent's plate or they will order from kids menu

Sounds reasonable / safe; but that's now how they worded it so wasn't sure.

Does anyone here have experience with that?

Does this mean we can go to Margaritaville with kids and they can order a cheeseburger and fries off the kids menu at no charge?
