  1. We will be flying into FLL but cruising out of Miami, we would like to stay in FLL the night before we leave. I would like a hotel that offers free shuttle from the airport, walking distance to some sort of store/pharmacy where we can buy water. I have found several good transportation services from FLL to the port, so we are all set there.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. I have read the smoking policies on the Norwegian website, however some of it is very vague. My hubby is a smoker and I want to verify the places he will be able to smoke. What I know is this: The Waterfront away from any restaurants and the casino if you are actively gambling. Are there any places on decks 15-17 that allow smoking? That we would be the area we would most likely hang out, just need to know if he will have to go all the way down to deck 8 just to smoke. Thanks

  3. This isn't exactly secret - nit a lot of people don't seem to know that the treats at Cafe al Bacio are free -'no drink purchase required. They also have a box of square squares on the counter that are free!

I want to know too..what are square squares?

  4. 50/50 chance, anything is possible, but with the typical person sailing on a Celebrity ship being a mature adult, we have not seen this. We have friends that have been purchasing the packages for a number of years, they are nothing new. The pkg makes it cost effective to order 3 glasses of wine which would cost $12-14 ea than buying a bottle @ $50-60 and only getting 2 glasses each. And yes, there is a lot more to what the total pkg encompasses than just booze.

Here is my "RUFF" run down of a day with a drink pkg on another thread

For us at least, the package was not just about drinks that would make us not remember the cruise! It was everything else that the pkg includes.

A speciality coffee each on the balcony while the wifester is putting on her face, $5 ea.

Evian or San Pellegrino with fresh squeezed juice with that second coffee at breakfast, $15 ea.

Grab a bottle water on the way to stake out a deck chair, $4 ea.

$24 each before any mind altering liquid is consumed.

A beer or the drink of the day by the pool, $6 ea

Then off to lunch, maybe a soda, or another San Pellegrino $5 ea

The sun is hot hot hot! A cold beer or drink of the day is in order, $6 ea

The burger at the Mast Grill is calling our names, it does not go down with out some liquid assistance, $5 ea, then it is time to meet friends to watch the sun set from the Sunset Bar, $6 ea. Afternoon total $28.

And the evening fun has yet to begin.

San Pellegrino and a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, and another speciality coffee with desert, $26 ea

Now it is time for some mind altering sampling to happen, or not A cocktail with friends at one of the watering holes on ship $7 ea, or 2 if we are letting our hair down!

One more bottle water on the way back to the cabin just in case we get thirsty during the night, $4. Evening total, $44.

Morning, $24, day, $28, evening $44, total $96.00 each useing the low end of the cost scale and not much mind altering substance.

Some evening's we will grab another coffee ( or worse) and go and sit on deck 5 to unwind, listen to the swoosh of the waves gently breaking down the side of the ship before heading to the cabin.

So many people think of just the alcohol aspect of the package, but it is so much more. You described a typical day wonderfully

  5. We will be in St. Lucia for the 2nd time and have done the Piton Tour. We are on a port intensive itinerary and are thinking of staying on the ship , is there anything worth getting off the ship for in the vicinity of the pier? Such as shopping etc.. if we did decide to leave for an hour or so.

    Thanks

    Carol

  6. Two years ago on the Constellation, my DH and I at at the buffet every meal for 14 nights and were more than happy with the choices. On the Constellation, the cook to order entrees were at the very end just as you exit to the Sunset Bar,. The options available then were, steak, chicken breast, pork chops and salmon. There was usually some sort of carved meat, along with choices of starch and vegetables. We loved how quiet and un-hurried the pace was there in the evening. This is also where the cruise staff eat and we sat and conversed with the cruise director and even the captain, his wife and son on several evenings.

  7. Why soft serve? They have a really good vanilla available every day. Oh, and I think they have root beer on board (though not diet and maybe not your favorite brand :D )

I will carry some root beer on, I have yet to see some on any ship I have sailed. I would rather be safe than sorry.

  8. This is something funny that happened, not heard. My DH was standing in line at the grill, the woman in front of him was complaining about every little thing and giving the guy behind the counter a very hard time. When she finally had her order, she proceeded to the condiments. The mustard was in one of the pump type contraptions and it didn't want to work. She proceed to continue to pump and all of a sudden mustard covered the front of her clothes. Karma is a b#$^@!

  9. Celebrity has 14 menus. If you are on a B2B pair of 7 night cruises you will have menus 1-7 repeated twice. The only way to experience all 14 menus is to sail on a 14+ night cruise.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it was that way, I was Kind of excited to see the menu, but I am on the other itinerary , so the menu will be different :( . I will just have to check the menu everyday! I may go check it out just to see what I will be missing. LOL

  10. I have really enjoyed reading this thread and how everyone has helped each other find the perfect item. I bought a pair of dress pants at a lawn sale last year, they are from the Limited, they are the most comfortable and flattering pants I have ever owned. I tried ordering a pair on line, but it seems the style I have is very outdated and the pair I purchased was nothing like the pair I have.

I certainly hope to find another pair like them some day. :(

  11. Back to not wanting to over pack ...most of our excursion are straight to a beach, we will not be doing much walking or have any rugged adventures planned. I invested in some great walking sandals for our Disney trip and they worked well for the 10+ miles a day I put on. I really want to use the treadmill in the mornings, will these be okay, will they even let me on the equipment without sneakers? Thanks for the help

  12. Our next cruise is very port intensive and I do not want to take a lot of clothes and shoes. I am taking a pair of black dress pants, as well as a pair of black and white dress capris. My question is this....the blouses I am taking to wear with the white capris have black in them, is it okay to wear my black dress sandals or do I have to haul my white shoes too?
