  1. What's there to do in Freeport if we decide not to do excursion. Keeping in mind we don't do beaches unless it's to get pictures. Just looking for ideas

  2. Hi, all. I am in a maintenance pattern for now. 5'3". 117#. I cruise 2nd week of april and come Jan 1, I'll be hitting it hard. My usual plan is watching my calories and fat intake, cutting out the between meals snacking and adding in weight training after I get over the soreness caused by increasing my general activity level from a slug to a rabbit. No, seriously, I wear my fitbit every day, during the work week, my average steps are 7000, but on a weekend, it dwindles to 1000. In january, I will increase steps to 12,000 - 14,000 just on a teadmill or eliptical, and add in weights 3-4 times/week for 20 - 30 mins. DH is retired and does all the cooking; he will cook only vegs and meat. No white foods (rice, potatoes, breads) from Jan to end of March. I will drop to 108-109#. Just so my clothes hang nice on my frame. It is a simple plan and I've done it numerous times before, but boring as can be when I have no one to work on it with. Also, recording every bit that enters my mouth keeps me accountable for my progress or lack of. For that I use Fitday.com

Wish I was on maintenance seems once I start I do good can't seem to get started though

  3. Question:

We are leaving on the Jewel on 12-06-2014. As of now I have it set up for us to have a cash expense account. What does that mean when we get to the pier to board? Will they make me put a cash deposit down or put a credit card on file?

I used cash account in April you don't have to do anything but once you charge certain amount they will call you down to pay money on it we never needed to put anything on it since we checked on it and paid towards end of cruisr

  4. Yes we would be sailing pride out of Baltimore an 11 hour drive for 7 days stopping at port Canaveral, freeport and Nassau. The fantasy would be 16 hour drive for 5 day cruise to Nassau and freeport

  5. my doctor said there are to many side effects of those patches infact unless you get severely seasick its not worth it. i took bonine and had no problem with seasickness...with that said everyone is different if you want to take them just in case i'd only use if you really need them. you can pick up some over the counter meds and try those if your worried.

  6. RCL is a bit dressier than NCL & CCL but is not overly formal. If you can add some sparkle that would be fun but you will probably be fine.

Cruise ship dining rooms are rather elegant spaces.

Check out the sales & the thrift stores. I got a new cruise formal night cocktail dress at a going out of business sale the other day for $17.

I'm keeping my eyes open so should find something if it kills me

  7. A skirt & nice shirt is not & never will be formal unless the skirt is taffeta or velvet & the top is sequined.

That said, the outfit you described will be fine on many lines. Please tell us what ship you are on.

There is a thread or two on the fashion board where 1,000s of women posted pictures of their formal night outfits. I'll try to find the link.

    I'm sailing on royal Caribbean

  8. Depending on the ship you will be cruising, what you are planning to wear may or may not be appropriate.

Even on Carnival I usually wear a long gown and my husband is in a tie. On our most rent cruise, this seemed to be the outfit of choice of the majority of cruisers. I wouldn't even consider wearing a simple skirt and white shirt on a non-casual night. The first elegant night I actually wore a cocktail dress and my husband was in a Polo. We felt horribly underdressed and spiced it up for the second one.

    Other suggestions:

Check out the "cruise fashion and beauty" board.

They have many threads there with photos.

Also what in the world did you Google?

I just typed in "cruise ship formal night" and came up with 1000s of photos. It was a great help.

i came up with 1000's to of models not exactly what i was looking for but i did go to youtube and find some that helped me out after posting here

  9. Help, "see.legs"! Your signature shows you sailed on Grandeur OTS on 4-26-2013.

If you're going on another Royal Caribbean cruise, why don't you just wear the same things for formal nights you did of that one?
