  1. On the Florida Intl Airport website, there is a section on things to do at the airport. The list includes artwork viewing, walking paths, viewing areas, and lots more. http://www.broward.org/Airport/Terminals/Pages/Default.aspx

Also, there are baggage concessions and public baggage storage at the Florida Airport. This is handy for those airlines that won't let you check your luggage earlier than 2-3 hours. So, store your luggage safely, and explore the airport or do an excursion before your flight leaves.

FLL website also has a .pdf file on "Tips For Cruise Passengers".

  2. That 20% off thing already exists. Doesn't make much sense to me.
Agree! Also, why would a person who just enjoys a decent bottle or two of wine spend $35 - $55/day on a drink package, just to get 20% off a bottle of wine? For some of us, that response (formula) doesn't work.

BTW - From what I have noticed, it's always cheaper on the cruise to buy the bottle, instead of buying by the glass.

  3. The latest dining chart has confirmed that they do not plan to re-open a Chef's Table on Oasis. Wonderland is taking over the space and there were rumors they would move it elsewhere, but that appears not to be the case.

Freedom Class, Voyager Class, Majesty, Enchantment, Jewel and now Oasis do not have the Chef's Table.

A friend did Chef Table the first week Oasis was back in FLL (Halloween Cruise). But, I do not see it on my cruise planner for my Oasis cruise. Also, can't find anything about Vintages on the revised dining guide or the website either. I wonder what this venue will become?

On a side note (website complaint about this dining document):

Have you tried to view the .pdf format of the guide? It downloads the old 2013 version, instead of the 2014 update. The current version in the Flash Player is hard to read across Pages 4-5, to see all the ships and know what restaurant applies to them, even in full screen. Once again, RCI publishes a document, that requires a workaround to be able to view and obtain all the information. When will programmers learn that not everyone has a big screen to view this type of document on-line. EOC (end of complaint).

  4. I went on the RC website today after reading this thread, and that some reservations were showing the wine package. I still can't purchase a wine package for the Oasis. It's not listed at all in the cruise planner. A few weeks ago it was listed, but I could not add to cart, and would get an error message and to contact RC Support. I contacted RC and they couldn't add the wine package either. I also sent in an on-line Support email with the details on the cruise planner, but have not heard back from RC.

I'm not interested in buying the drink packages. The beer & wine package is $8/glass wine, and there is usually only one of those wines on-board the ship, not in every bar, and not the wine I particularly like. So, then you're left with a premium $49/day package for $12/glass wine. 7 day cruise of $343 drink package versus 7 bottle wine package for $220. And...I was going to buy the 5 bottle wine package, which makes a bigger $ diff.

I hope this is just a website issue and wine packages are still available on-board. It seems strange that Quantum didn't offer them.

Update: I looked at my cruise in 2016 on the Radiance and the wine & dine package is listed. Go figure!

  5. Unfortunately, no. In fact, I was shocked to discover that you can't even watch CBS, NBC, or ABC on the cabin televisions!

When I was on the Rhapsody (purchased unlimited internet - very slow), I was still able to stream the US Open finals via their android app, as a work around for the lack of cabin television choices. It buffered quite a bit, but I could watch it until the internet/satellite went out for the whole ship. Seems to me, with the new speeds one could stream whatever news they want to see. You would have to find which site, mobile app or device works best for news viewing on the ship. I couldn't access my Tablo on the ship, but I could access Comcast's on-demand. Curious, have you tried streaming any type of TV programming?

  6. Clicking on “My Cruises” to go to a web address is hardly likely to cause changes in the reservation. Customer Support reps telling folks this Urban Legend keeps the myth alive.

There are many problems with RC’s website application, but remember that there is an interface program between the website and database that holds the guest information, and the actual application that generates the reservation. Anywhere in this system process can produce inaccurate information, due to bugs in programming, reverting to older database back-ups, system maintenance/upgrades, etc.

I doubt very seriously that clicking on a web link is causing reservations and pre-cruise planning to disappear. This is an Urban Legend, i.e., a hoax. The problem is with the programming. But, if it makes you feel better not to click on My Cruises, then RC’s reps will continue to perpetuate this Urban Legend.

Just my humble opinion being expressed here….(Not trying to throw a flame.)

  7. While saying their sorrowful goodbyes in London at the end of this encounter, the couple agreed that the September transatlantic on the Legend of the Seas would be their next rendezvous.

The OP's "story" is very well written. The romance part reminds me of the movie "Same Time Next Year". It begins with romantic overtones before it segues to price drops and comparisons. Yet, it certainly kept my attention to the end, because...I wanted to know what happened when you two met again.

Forget Dynamic Dining, how does the story end? Did you two book your "Next Cruise"?:)

  8. I posted about the "wine & dine" package on another thread. I could not add the package to my cart last week, and I called the phone number in the error message. Unfortunately, the rep couldn't add the package either. This week the wine and dine is no longer an option on the cruise planner for my 2015 reservations. I have not heard back from my on-line email to Royal Caribbean cruise planner support. I thought I would be able to purchase the package on-board...??

I'm going to stay positive and speculate that there will be a new wine list in the package for 2015.:D
