This is our 17th cruise and first Cunard. We’ve been on board Celebrity, NCL, Princess and HAL. Totally agree with @NE John regarding the food. I had an eggs Bennie the first morning and could not believe how good the English muffin, the ham, egg and hollandaise were- superb! When we first inquired about stretching the menu I asked about a halibut Oscar and also Alaskan king crab legs. I was told by the head waiter there would be a charge for crab legs. So the halibut was excellent and I asked the head waiter if I could send a beer or drink to the chef. He told me that he doesn’t drink. The next day we were in Juneau and went to Tracy’s #2 and we had 2 pounds of crab legs and 2 beers- $200 with grat. Then we went to Red Dog Saloon for a beer. I started chatting with my barstool neighbor and come to find out he was the executive chef on the QE. He had come on shore to inspect and purchase fresh prawns and salmon. When I told him I was told he doesn’t drink he laughed. I bought him 2 beers. Guess what I ate last night? I couldn’t even finish the huge plate of crab legs! Thanks chef!

Our daily service charge was included when we booked. I hoped to use it to tip out the butler, asst butler, grills bartender, head waiter, regular waiters, m’d.

We share one plan with two iPhones by just using one at a time. When you login with one it gives you the option to kick the other one off. Starlink has been pretty snappy this week on QE.

The bartender in the QG told me if I put a tip on her chit it goes to a pool with 17 other bartenders. However, if I tip on a chit from our sommelier it goes to him only. Our daily service charge was included in our deal along with $800 obc. After internet and theater box we still have $575. It would have nice if I could have tipped out butler, asst butler, m’d and servers with direct grats.

I’ve seen it mentioned here before that OBC could be used for gratuities. I’m on board the QE and just left the purser's desk. I was told I could not use it for grats or in the casino. Essentially it can only be used for on board purchases and excursions.

We saw a grizzly swimming along the shore first thing this morning as we neared Ketchikan from our balcony. We hiked 3 miles along the shore to the Saxman Totem Park and then took the city bus back to town and went to the 1:00 lumberjack show. Discovered the local brewery, good beer and we also had a nice pizza at Fat Stan’s. The chef in QG is making me a special halibut Oscar tonight. Everything has been exceptional in QG.

On board QE now. 1. I asked if whole king crab legs were possible? Not without fee. How about halibut topped Oscar style? No problem. 2. Yes. We were unhappy with table 19, we now have #1. 3. Our package was booked in US & includes drinks to $12, the bartenders will ring drinks up to meet the threshold.

Hey NE John. We’ve been her a few days. Stayed at Pan Pacific and had the best start of any of our many cruises. Handed our 3 large bags off to a bellman who came to our room. Then we took the elevator directly to the port, strolled through checkin and security and we are about to board any minute. See ya in QG.

Are you going to Alaska anytime soon? Another FL man but I hope you are behind me at the QG first lunch. I'll look for your jacket.

Since the steakhouse has a fruits de mer dish with king crablegs it has to be on board. Can you ask for it in the QG? Either as an individual serving or to say top the halibut- oscar style? We sail on the QE soon to Alaska. I'm going to try to stick to seafood in the evening.

We have been to Vancouver many times and used to live in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, just across the Haro Strait from Victoria. We should have visited Alaska while we lived there but never made it. Now we're in FL. Anyhoo, we love sushi and Vancouver is one of the best cities we have visited for such. We have a reservation for embark eve at Miko which is very close to Pan Pacific.

We were just assigned a 12:30 boarding time for 6/21. Checkout in the Vancouver Pan Pacific is 11:00. They take your luggage right to the ship from the lobby! How easy is that?

6/21 QE to Alaska from Vancouver. We have 16 cruises under our belts. First time Cunard.

Inside a month to go. You really do not hear much from the QG'ers. Are you so happy it's better to just keep things hush hush? Give us your QG conquests!

We're on the 6/21 QE too. Also gonna lose my Cunard cherry. We're in QG but I'll probably spend most of my time in the GL pub. Just listen for the Loud McNulty's from FL.

We're going on the QE on 6/21 out of Vancouver. Cunard pics show a "paddle ball court"? ***** is that? It's not pickleball but for nothing else it would be a place to drill while away from your regular games at home. I'm still undecided to pack my paddles and balls.

I emailed the question about the grills cktl package. We do have $800 obc from Cunard and daily tips are included too. They did not give us anything more. Here is my response: Drinks Package in the Grills applies up to $12 drinks. Drinks over $12 will be charged the full amount against the guest's folio.
