We booked on the Celebrity website. My girlfriend has called a couple of times and they have just said you may have to wait till very close to date of departure. I will just have to be a bit more patient.

We booked a good month ago.

We are going on a short cruise next week on the Eclipse and we still don't know our stateroom number. Is it possible that we will not know until we arrive on the day or is it more likely that it will happen beforehand? I just like to get an idea which part of the ship we maybe located as its my first cruise.

A few questions please...

 

Is Bamboo Beach Club within walking distance or quick taxi ride from Ocho Rios port? And is it safe to do that? If it's where I think it is it would be a very long walk from Ohio Rios. (when I am in Jamaica I normally take the local taxi which cost me around 1US dollar for a single journey.

 

Really having a difficult time trying to decide on a Beach Excursion thru Carnival while in Jamaica.

 

Reviews for the beaches are all over the place!! (as many unhappy people as there are happy) I just about ready to stay on the ship.

 

We are looking for a beach to just relax on that has a place to rest, walkable sand, swim able water and some food and drinks!! It does not have to be all exclusive.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I read somebody before saying that they went to the Jewel resort. I don't know how much that costs but I would imagine it would be very nice & better than the Bamboo. I stayed at the Riu resort which is in between the Jewel and the Bamboo Beach that's how I know. The facilities at the Bamboo beach are actually not bad, but the sea has a lot of seaweed if that bothers you. (if I have the wrong Bamboo I apologise in advance)

Thanks guys. Think I will look for something around 17th ave SE. Seems like a good location especially as we get in late afternoon and I will probably to tired to venture to far.

We will be traveling into FL after a long flight and looking for a hotel location within a mile or two to the port which has a few shops and restaurants near by. I am not familiar with the area and there are loads of hotels. Any location suggestions would be appreciated.

We are going in November so it shouldn't be an issue. We have pretty much made up our minds nnow & are going with Princess. It was down to things like itinery, dates and what we were looking for, for a cruise. Things become more challenging when you have to travel across the pond to get to the ship. I am sure both are just as good but it just comes down to personal choice I suppose.

I am looking at doing a cruise from Florida to Eastern Caribbean later this year and was wandering based on peoples experiences who they thought offered a good experience for adults. I was looking at Princess & Royal Caribbean at the moment as they have the itinerary that I am after. Celebrity would be my first choice but I cant seem to get the dates and the itinerary that I am after. I am flying from the UK so I would have to organize flights etc. I did prefer the Royal Caribbean website for booking the whole package but the Princess ship seemed more chilled as we not after cheesy bands every night although slightly more expensive. Any help would appreciated.
