  1. Yeah, we just got our new Blue Cash cards too. I was able to load it on DH's account last week because his online profile was already established from the Costco card. But, we just got our cards in the mail yesterday and I tried to load it on mine and it seems to be gone. Oh well, one offer is better than nothing.

     

     

    Try unlinking the card that has the offer loaded from the online profile. Then log out and log back in, and it magically reappeared.I had to do that with another offer after I loaded to first card and the offer disappeared on the other. Then I loaded the offer, and linked the first card back to the online account. Still had offer on both cards and used them both.

    Did anyone try to buy Carnival gift cards from their website and get the credit? I don't plan to book anything in the near future but can use it later.

    Terms specifically exclude gift cards. You could book something very far out at a completely refundable rate and change it to what you really want later though.

    So glad it came through. We had it on my Amex PRG, my daughters and husbands AU card on same account, my DH business PRG and my Blue Cash Preferred. No luck on the SPG or Hilton though.

  4. That's crazy. I'm on the Oct 11 cruise and my port taxes are $112pp. When I do a mock booking for Sept 3, I get the 119.50 pp taxes also. Unless you are going to get cancellation fees, if all else fails, I would cancel and rebook online at the lower rate. My itinerary is the same as yours, just in reverse. No way should the taxes be $328.50pp. You can always them transfer back to your TA.

  5. Looks like all. Could find was an artist rendering of the room. I found it by going to Carnival.com, Explore, Explore Ships, double click on the picture of the Vista, go to deck plans, pick deck 2, then double click on the room. Until someone stays there, I'm afraid that's all the info we will know.

  6. When you said $99 sale I thought you got the whole cruise for $99, and I was really pissed. Lol.

     

     

     

    A few weeks ago I put down a large deposit ($1,000) on the 12/17 cruise for a Family Harbor OV for the four of us. We are doing the Early Saver rate. In retrospect I'm not sure the ES fare was worth it, we are saving only $200 total that way than the Past Guest rate but now are more or less locked in to the cruise. I guess that will just incentivize us to make this trip happen.

     

     

     

    Anyway, how does this cabin upgrade work? I booked through Vacations to Go, does that make a difference? We are all VIPF cruisers. We are interested primarily in the Family Harbor cabins for our two little ones. But it looks like right now there are only interiors for the Family Harbor cabins for that sailing. We would love a Cove balcony. Would I be contacted for an upgrade option, and if so, how? What is the likelihood that a FH Cove Balc will become available? Is there anything I could do to enhance our odds that we upgrade at some point? Request it somehow?

     

     

     

    I could always just call my TA but thought someone here might have special tips. Thanks in advance for any help you might have!

     

     

    What I did in a similar situation was do mock bookings about everyday to see if what I wanted was available and reasonably priced. When it became available, I called my TA immediately and asked them to change me (of course I paid the difference in fare). First time, they took their time and it was not available by the time they tried to get it. Second time, I made them do it while I was still on the phone. I got what I wanted for a reasonable price. However, now, I just book online and call Carnival for changes I want (after I put a hold on the cabin I want to change to). Works for me every time. I have already made three changes this week for a Med cruise on Vista in October. This is in spite of needing accessible room and using pack and play rate. So it definitely can be done.

  7. Shuttle/taxi from Houston to Galveston is very pricey- especially with 6. My suggestion would be to find a good deal on a 8/9 day rental car big enough for 6. Drive to Galveston area Saturday night. If you find a hotel that does park and cruise, you can then leave the rental car there. Take the hotel shuttle to the ship/ back from ship and then do your exploring and stay near Airport Sunday night. I know it sounds crazy to rent for the whole time, but there really aren't any one way rentals to/from Galveston.

  8. Not sure how to contact you UrbanHawk-New at this. I'll be on the 11/29/15 cruise on Magic. Maybe you'd care to show me the ropes? Or provide some newbie tips?

     

     

    Just email casino@carnival.com. Include your VIFP number, name, ship, sailing date and booking number. Also, it is good to include the last cruise booking number, ship and sail date. Ask if you will have any comps.

  9. I did not see where you could look up your order and check status on the site. Can you give me an idea where that is?

     

     

    I went into the page for redeeming points, then in the upper right, I clicked on "account". If History doesn't come up right away, just click on the "History" link on the left. It will give you a list of all points earned and redeemed. Off to the right of each redemption, is a link for "View Detail". Click on that and it will show status of order, etc.

  10. I ordered them on the 21st and received an order confirmation. This time I did not receive a shipping confirmation. Did you all always get a shipping confirmation?

     

     

    I did not. However, I had to call yesterday, as even the ones I bought on the 19th were still showing as pending and not shipped. She was able to confirm my orders and per their site, it looks like 2 orders mailed yesterday and one today. No email confirmation or tracking though.
