  1. They are back and I got some this morning :)

Just a note though you can only get 5 cards now(actually 10 if you do 5 emailed cards and 5 snail mailed cards it worked for me) .I guess they caught on to those of us that have bought $2000 worth to save a lot of money and changed the rules

They had the 5 card limit in June also. However, they tend to be available for a longer period on Citi, so I just bought 5 each day. Ended up with 25 cards. Guest services sure did know my name after they had to add all of them to my S&S!!! This time I as able to snag $500 ones from AARP and then topped it off this morning with some $100 e-gift cards from Citi.

  2. Do the Gift Cards have an expiry date or some time frame in which they have to be used? Meaning, if I buy them now, will they still be good in December 2016?

Thanks!! :D I was pretty sure that I could use my Canadian address but wasn't sure where to find them on Carnival's website. Are they listed under Bon Voyage/The Fun Shops?

No, after clicking on the gift card link at the bottom of the home page, it will take you to a page where one of the options is to purchase gift cards. No expiration. Apply to your S&S account when you get onboard (or at check in at some ports), and then just

Charge the Cheers or anything else to your account.

  3. Yes, I mean the gift cards. :D I think cruise cash (the stuff you buy from Bon Voyage) is the use it or lose it variety. I don't want to risk losing money if we don't use it all. I can buy the gift cards online as well right? I live in Canada so can't buy them at the grocery store (or any other store). Thanks so much!! :D

According to the FAQ from Carnival.com :

Q: Can a Carnival gift card be purchased online using a Canadian address?

A: Yes, a Canadian resident can purchase an electronic gift card online using their Canadian billing address.

I got there from the home page, by clicking on the link at the bottom for gift cards, then looking at the FAQ.

  4. My 5 day on the Triumph was $59.95. I believe the website says less than five is $49.95 and 5 or more should be $59.95. Maybe they lower it for some cruises where it is not selling well?

  5. I don't want to play slots, just table games. I need to know how to get cash/chips for the table games and vaguely remember using slot machines to move money from my sign and sail account to my casino players account.

You can either go to the slots, download the$$ to your player bank, then cash out at the casino cage. No fee to do this. Or, you can have the pit boss get you cash against your S&S account. That will cost you 3%. There have been some reports that if you do the slot method with no play, they will give you a hard time. I just play a tiny bit, then cash out and use cash at tables.

  6. My code is BBL6 ... Problem would be getting I touch with casino and asking as they don't respond to emails the same day and I have to book by tomorrow ... So, hoping to find a sailing that works for our dates .... Thank you :)

Were you able to book? What did the code bbl6 get you? Was it interior/ocean view/balcony? How many days? Any casino cash? I'm hoping you were able to take advantage.

  7. the codes apply to what options are given with each offer. even 1 letter or number is the difference between getting a little and get A LOT!

the premiers are coming...just give it a few. plus check online under your vifp offers. you may have one now.

Thanks for your reply. I keep checking under my VIFP offers. Nothing yet. Hopefully time is all that is needed. I have lots of vacation time, so looking forward to a bunch of cruising. I love gambling, and we have none at home. So, it works out great for me to get the reduced/ free offers for the gambling I would do anyway. I googled the bbs4, but found nothing. The PMB I found mentioned frequently.

  8. Ok another question about free cruises. I went on my first Carnival Cruise in May. 7 night on the Magic. On the last night, I was given a free cruise from the Casino ( code PMB). I booked a 5 day Triumph cruise with that offer. I just got back from that cruise and was given the letter for a free cruise. Only difference was this time, code was BBS4. It was only good for up to five day sailing, but seems to have much more availability than the PMB did. I gambled much more this time than last, and received gifts during the cruise from the casino this time (wine, chocolate covered strawberries, robe, etc). Any idea why the different code? I assume I will get the Drinks on Us card immediately on my next cruise, as I had 10k+ points this cruise. Does anyone know if this is still true when utilizing the Bounceback offer? I haven't been lucky enough to be offered any premier or elite cruises yet. Any idea of the level of gambling to start getting those offers?

  9. When I pulled out cash at the tables last week ( I had gift cards on my S&S account), I was charged 3% fee. But, using slots to download from S&S, no fee. So, I would go to slots, download cash, spin once, go to cashier and cash out. Then, if I wanted to play table games, I would play with the cash I pulled out from slots.

  10. Most Visa Gift Cards cannot be used on Cruise ships. Check the terms and conditions. I think your best bet would be use your Visa gift cards to buy Carnival gift cards to apply onboard. If time is right, buy e-gift cards and they email them to you.

  11. I second Mr Sanchos. I will be there next week also ( on the Triumph). Food and drink is great. If you reserve online, the all inclusive side is 50 instead of 55. 17 taxi each way. You could also do the free side and buy food and drinks separately. However, I have not done the free side. In the AI side, plenty of tables and loungers and a great swim up bar.

  12. Not a rumor, but the free UBP is not available for insides, just OVs and higher. However, for 3 people, NCL is much less than RCI (any category) because their promotion is allowing the 3rd & 4th guest for free - just pay the port fees and taxes.

I have been comparing the Getaway price for 3 pax versus Oasis in Sept and the price difference is substantial, even though the Oasis is reasonably priced on a pp basis with 2 pax in the cabin. The price pp sky rockets when looking for a cabin that will accommodate 3, not so on the Getaway.

The NCL promo does offer free soda package or free internet minutes or OBC (for specialty dining/excursions) for inside rooms.

We have been on the Getaway earlier this year and it was a great cruising experience.

Actually, for cruises sailing before 12-22-15, NCL is offering the UBP for insides. Just added it to my son's cabin.

  13. I'm wondering too. I got one in my last cruise (1st time on Carnival), but I'm hesitant to book another one in case it messes up my chances for another bounce back offer on my cruise later this month. Anyone???

  14. Well.

    This what I thought too.

They were not at all keen to accept one on Connie last month. Not keen at all. I ended up putting them back in my folder. I was so surprised I didn't take in what they were saying. The big problem is that for the past twenty years my main language has been French and when someone speaks to me in English there is a split second time gap whilst I take it in:D They definately said that the 123go and the onboard credit would be different if I used it. Blinded me with smooth talk. Like when they sold them to me!

They also told me I was getting free gratuities as they were in with the price! Don't you just love them?

I will wait and see what others say.

I think the problem was you were trying to combine the book on board promo with a next cruise certificate( or whatever they are called). You could use either the next cruise certificate or the book on board promo for a booking, but not both. You need to use a new deposit if you want the book onboard benefits. If you want to use the certificate, you would only get the benefits of that, but no book onboard benefits. Forgive me if I misunderstood.

  15. Where are they ignoring ADA guidelines? They are offering you the ability to arrange lift transportation. ADA, does not mean "free". It is up to you to finalize transportation issues, and to express your needs, double checking that they are taken care of. The cruise line, has stated they can not accommodate you. I suggest you make your own arrangements- DIRECT. You are asking for nothing but trouble- adding middle men.

Do you have the prior inquiry, stating that the lift was included in your transfer?

Ok, I also recommend the disabled forum. But, as to the above, under ADA, if a service is offered to a non disabled passenger, then they must provide that same transport service to the disabled with no additional cost over what it costs a non disabled passenger.

  16. Kcruiser2014- Do I just call AARP?

I don't use the AARP, so I'm not sure. Apparently they are discounted through their rewards program. I believe they find it on the AARP website. There are some threads on here that have more insight. Sorry, I don't know how to post a link. O do know that I have read that they sell out frequently. Maybe try a search on this forum for AARP gift card.

  17. I prefer to buy Carnival gift cards instead of Cruise Cash. Gift cards are not use or lose. You can apply them to your S&S account. Then, if you put too much, you can either get some cash against your card in the casino or they will refund back to another gift card. I get them at a discount through Citi Easydeals, but others get them discounted through Verizon or AARP. You can also buy undiscounted gift cards though Carnivalgiftcards.com.

  18. I also think people are taking it to seriously. I can't imagine spending the sums I do and not asking if he is OK with it. I have booked before I have spoken with him. BUT, always make sure there are no fees to cancel if there is really a reason he doesn't want to go.

Last month, I was given a free cruise from the casino. Hubby just said--- no--- we are not going again! He said he was cruised out..... After 20 years, you would think he would know better. The costs involved were minimal... So... I booked a mother-daughter cruise with my 16 YO. His only comment was.... Stay out of the casino... He knows better... Next day, we discussed budget and I'm a happy woman! Now, I go on a cruise with my DD who really wanted to go, and he gets 6 days to hang out with his buddies and meet us Thursday for a nice weekend in Galveston.

He still is saying he doesn't want to go on the Decenber cruise I booked. We will discuss. If by final payment, he really objects, I will cancel. No biggie. BUT, I would never book anything that had cancellation fees without discussing with him first. It probably helps that I make most of the money, but it is OUR money, not mine. Therefore, respecting his opinion is important to me. He would never make a large non-refundable purchase without consulting me.

I often weigh my objections to how much it means to him. Even if I object a particular purchase, sometimes I say sure, even though I don't want to, because it is important to him. He does the same. Major purchases with OUR money, need to be made by US, not just one. I get his approval, he gets mine.

He learned a long time ago that the quickest way to get me to do something, is for him to just tell me NO without having a rational discussion as to why he doesn't want me to do it. I am not a child and will not be treated like one.

But, approval and permission are two different things. I will always ensure I have approval if it is for both of us or is a large expenditure, but, I never ask for permission.
