Rob, Pac, and Jan stay warm. In the cold weather bet it could be hard

to drink your water and not eat hot comfort food. Your all doing good

dealing with the weather and food.

shootr are you to busy BBQing?  Mike did you stay on the ship?

Hi Belle, actually find it easy to get lots of water in, even during the cold weather. Its so dry right now after shoveling and being outside always have water. During the morning a few cup of tea is a good warm up...

Really?   Are you person #1 on the booking?  If that's the case then you might have issues.  If you are passenger #2 just do a name change and then book the studio.

Yes the studios have a separate entrance and are key carded to gain entry so its not a case of people being able to go in and out of there on their own.

Yes am person#1, why would that matter? Everything is paid for and will actually have the same credit card on file for both rooms..I actually like the fact that the studio is a seperate area..

Rob..Be;ow Zero Weather! Yikes!  I could never live in that weather. Guess your use to it.

    Yes you got your exercise.

Hello everyone on this Holiday Monday. Have a good day. Stay safe and warm.

Belle, its so cold this morning , saw a turtle wearing a people neck sweater....at 430am when I got into work it was -2*, its lunchtime and up to a balmy 3*.. The wind chill is way below zero...That's why we vacation in warm areas...

  6. Hi everyone, got way more exercise than wanted today. Started snowing last night and then turned to freezing rain and sleet overnight and continued to almost noontime .  Spent a few hours cleaning our cars , driveway and sidewalks. Snow and ice was really heavy today  so really got a good workout in.  Showered and relaxed for an hour before heading into work to clean our walks and exits for tomorrow as we are expecting below zero weather. Hi Ann, I agree with Belle, that you really should have a scale to keep yourself accountable. No one needs to know your starting weight unless you want to divulge it, but checking in and with encouragement and help am sure you can reach your goal.. Take care all Rob

  7. We are booked on the escape for april 28th to Bermuda. I have booked and paid for a large balcony room for my wife and I and  one of my sisters in laws as well as our daughter in laws mother. Now my other sister in law wants to come and since her children haven't come through with paying her cruise I am going to take care of it. I checked into having her come into a room and moving into a family inside room which holds 5.. Doesn't sounds like a good time with one bathroom and 4 women and me. For about the same cost I can get a studio and have a second bathroom. What I want to do is take the studio for me and move my sister in law in my place in the balcony room. Is that possible? Is it ok to book the studio in my sister in laws name and have her stay with her sisters and me sleep in the studio? Is that ok? Is the only time it would matter during muster? I am going to change all my dining reservations and just add her.. Thanks for all your input I know will come.... Have met so many great people on cruise critic and love the feedback...

Topped out at 179 in the late fall. Hit 170.1 today. Hoping to say goodbye to the 170's for good.

Started using the Seven app to do a short daily workout. The freebie version has one workout a day. Membership lets you choose from a bunch of pre-set options, a random workout generator, or build custom sets from their long list of bodyweight exercises. Decided that a small daily habit is a great way to ease back into exercise after the psoas injury I struggled with throughout 2018. 18 days in a row and going strong. Even started building longer sets (up to 20 minutes) instead of just the suggested 7-8 mins. I generally do the exercises while watching tv in the evening.

I decided to give intermittent fasting a shot about 10 days ago after inadvertently skipping breakfast and lunch one day (this was very unusual for me). The idea is to restrict your eating to 8 hours per day. It's going surprisingly well. I plan to keep it up until the cruise, and possibly pick it back up after I return to try to help finish off the rest of the weight. Weirdly had to start logging my food with Lose It to ensure I'm eating enough (as opposed to too much). I'm finding it too easy to eat too little if I don't have something keeping a tally. Eating a lot more protein and a lot less sugar, even though I had no intention of changing my diet beyond restricting my timing. I'm craving protein instead of chocolate for the first time in my life. Quickly learned that I can't end the night on anything too sweet or I'll feel cruddy in the morning. So if I have a dessert, I follow up later with nuts or ham and cheese to avoid the sugar roller coaster ride. I will remember that lesson long after I give up IF.

I too am only trying to eat during that 8 hour period of the day, since I am working and in most days at 530am usually have cup of tea(no sugar or creamer  but sometimes honey), then 930am is coffee break another tea or bottle of water and a bowl of oatmeal( I buy the large tube and fill a container with oatmeal with cinnamon  and pour some out over a mashed banana every day, and a few graham cracker with peanut butter. Then another bottle of water for lunch with a few hardboiled eggs, an apple at 200pm with another bottle of water and then at 4pm whatever my lovely wife has cooked for dinner. I am having not trouble staying away from the snacks now that the holidays are over. Once we cruise in 99 days I am eating whatever I want , including desserts...…. Take care all Rob... Stay warm We are  waiting for another snow storm and below zero cold here... brrrrrrrr!!!

  9. Or she could do what we did, call your NCL personal cruise consultant. I use the same person for booking, reservations and any changes, we are now inside 115 days until our next cruise and we saw 1 for some of our choices when we have a party of 4. They were able to make our reservations for 5 night s of our 7 night cruise. ( 3 specialty and other two nights Manhatten room)

  10. Hi Belle and everyone else trying to lose before you cruise. I think the last time I was on this forum was at least a year and a half ago if not more.. Two years ago with lots of effort and help was able to get down to my desired weight.  I did great and was watching what I ate as well as exercised regularly . Unfortunately last year in February I got side tracked when my best friend got sick a few days after his 63rd b day. He passed  10 days later from the flu. I stopped going to the gym as I was helping his 87yo father adjust to living on his own and we went out to eat at least twice a week  up until last week. I didn't really matter so ate what I wanted and put on the 25lbs I lost the year before. Now its time to get back to it and get in shape again.. I am down over 6lbs as I did weigh myself Thursday but have been busy and will try and check in every Thursday.. I have now switched my morning coffee with cream and several sugars, to a cup of tea, usually have a few a day and drinking lots of water. First day back to the gym which if I visit 50 times in 6 months my health insurance sends me a check for 200$ which I will use for my cruises... Looking forward to getting to know all of you and helping each other reach our goals take care all, Rob

You can take on board as much as you can carry!!!  $15 a 750ml bottle and drink it anywhere.

I want to bring a bottle of Champagne to celebrate with some family members going on their first cruise with us. Should I keep it with me in my carry on bag I will hand carry on board with my meds, or wrap it up in my suitcase I will leave to the stewards to bring to the room?

Escape berths at Heritage Wharf unless the upgrade includes making it possible for larger ships to dock at Kings Wharf. Up to now ships the size of Escape and Anthem  have had to use the Heritage Wharf berth.

Oh ok thanks. We have been on the NCL dawn,  and RCCL Explorer and Granduer of the seas in the past and as long as we get there it will be fine with us....Thanks for all your advice and Happy Thanksgiving , Rob
