  1. On Seaside now. Filled out the form and nothing happened. Asked our room steward and he went to the medical center and filled a liter bottle for us. He also brought us a European style extension cord that we could use with our adapter last week. This week we are in the Yacht Club and there is only a USB port by the bed. Again cabin steward brought us an extension and it is also a surge protector. Bob

Thanks! I figured the special needs form would be useless most likely given how their website functions.

  2. I can only refer to my experience on Divina, but assume it will be the same on Seaside. I did fill out the special needs form online but heard nothing. Distilled water was available at guest services to anyone that asked for it.

We are considering carrying a bottle on board just in case!

  3. We leave on Seaside soon and it’s our first cruise with MSC. Best method for requesting Distilled Water? Is it their Special Needs form or should we call? Looking for responses from those who have experience. Princess and Holland America we called or indicated it online but with MSC’s cust service and website issues I lack confidence in them.

    Thanks!

  4. I booked through a TA but they told me to login direct on MSC which I have all along since I booked it a year ago. I completed all the check in info online and was able to get my edocs emailed directly to me. My guess is that your TA didn’t set it up correctly with your email from the get go.

  5. Yes the upgrade does work. We just got off of the Seaside this past week and had used it on our promo package from early booking. It was $56 per adult, $112 total. Kids don't have to upgrade. The full code is 536UPGAD. It is very very well worth the upgrade:)

I upgraded direct with MSC and yes that is the correct code. $112 and they told me too that kids didn’t have to upgrade.

  6. Hi Sidari- what is your experience with the Aurea My Choice dining so far? I’m typically a traditional seating person but with MSC, we will have the Aurea My Choice. Is there a separate line and area in the dining room for it? Just trying to get a feel for how it works so we know ahead of time. Enjoy the Seaside and thanks for posting info and updates!

  7. Overall, I still like the Princess offer and cruising style. Are there disappointing aspects? Sure, but I know and like their routines over other lines. We try different lines and always seem to come back. HAL had great ships and food but we were bored and entertainment lacked. Trying out the new MSC Seaside in January because we are bringing our 14-year old son. Really big ship, lots of activity. First time on MSC will be interesting. It really depends on personal preference and also itinerary options for where you are sailing.

  8. We've sailed in E729 below where you are looking, this is our absolute favourite spot. We love the aft side of the ship, love the combination of wake/side view and the extended balcony. I've had a Dolphin mini that was mid-ship and I did not care for the fact it was uncovered.

I don’t like people above us being able to see down either. This was a great spot.

  9. Would love to see some pictures of this area, any information (hours, facilities, etc) available, cost (per day or per cruise & how much)?

    Thanks

YouTube has lots of videos showing the Top 19. I recommend checking it out. I believe you can pay per day if not an Aurea Level experience but I haven’t seen the cost.

  10. Kurt Kloster founded Norwegian Caribbean Line which started with Sunward and Skyward. He turned the France into the Norway, which sailed until the boilers failed. After Kloster no longer owned the line, it became Norwegian Cruise Line, keeping the same initials, NCL.

The Norway was a lovely ship.

I loved the Norway. It was one of my best cruises ever and I was only 16 at the time. The ship was amazing and I met the best people some of whom we still keep in touch with.

  11. Greetings, I have booked the transatlantic 2018 MSC Divina from Rome. Since we are new to MSC we were advised by our TA to apply for the status match - we did, we used our Celebrity Elite to match to MSC Black.

From the time of initiating the form on-line to receiving confirmation and an MSC Black member number, was 3 days..........

    Just providing data...........YMMV

My experience with the status match was good. I got a reply back within 2 days and it was all set. My TA applied it for my discount. Other things haven’t been the smoothest but I’m hopeful the trip will be great.

  12. We have used EZair several times now particularly on overseas destinations. We always arrive at least the day before or in international flights several days before the ship boards. So to answer your questions and add a few points.

You can book a flight that arrives days before the ship boards. Our next South American cruise we are arriving 10 days before we board the ship.

You can choose among several offerings which airline and reservation you want to make. The cost may vary according to what you choose but you can certainly get a non-stop flight.

You don't have to pay for the airline reservations until the final cruise payment date..

You can cancel or change the airline reservations at any time up to 45 days before departure. Airline prices change all the time and I have found cheaper and/or better reservations after I booked our EZair tickets. I was able online to change the EZair reservation.

If there is a problem while in transit, Princess has a 24/7 desk to resolve the problem. You are guaranteed to get to the ship. I have been on cruises where we waited in port hours for the arrival of pax. Peace of mind is a great thing on a vacation.

I have found that the prices offered on EZair were better than or at the worst equal to what the airlines were offering.

Does EZ Air let you pick which city to depart from different than where you live? We are doing Mexican Riviera in 2019 and live in Vermont so we frequently fly out of Boston or Montreal to go direct. Given the distance we are going to look at using EzAir this next time.

  13. I had a Vista Suite on Holland America's Koningsdam and all it was just a stretched normal balcony cabin. "Suite" doesn't mean much today! Bob

I agree with you there. We had a Vista Suite on Koningsdam too and it wasn’t sized much more than just a regular balcony. A Princess Mini-Suite was much larger.

  14. While I agree that it's nice to have a kids free area, I really do think that MSC should have a warning on the Aurea Suites and Balconies when booking that kids are not allowed in the Solarium provided. They should make sure when booking that people are aware of this.

You do make a good point because we technically have paid for him to have an Aurea Level experience and it would have been nice to know ahead of time that this could be the case. I will check on board anyway and see. You never know!

  15. I understand there has to be a cut off somewhere but my wife and I will be the travelling with our 16 year old daughter and this makes the area pretty worthless for us. We are not likely to split up and leave her on her own. She is a young adult who can not drink and hardly likely to be running riot within that area. Oh well strike another thing off the list of things to do on the ship.

That is the same situation with our son that I mentioned. He is our only and will not be running a riot either. He would only be there with us and spending family time. I plan to inquire when we get on board since others have experienced them being allowed it sounds like from the other posts.
