  1. You do not need coats or ties on Oceania, but jeans are NOT permitted at night in the restaurants

For the record Oceania has recently changed their dress code to state CASUAL jeans not allowed at night.

I doubt the denim tux was a serious suggestion. That would be a modern twist on those awful leisure suits that were popular in the '70s.

I'm wearing a Denim Leisure suit in my Senior Picture, with a flowery shirt with wide lapels. Class of 76:o I doubt I was the only one.

  2. When and whether the ship changes time seems to be entirely up to the captain [if I ran the company:rolleyes: there would be a company wide policy, but they didn't ask me;)]. As they say about the stockmarket: past performance is no guarantee of what will happen in the future. That said, I often do private tours, and every tour company I have dealt with knew a lot more about when and where (such as in Cozumel where there are three docks, plus sometimes ships tendering) the ship would be arriving than I did. My advice is to ask the company what you should do, and then leave it in their hands.

    enjoy

On the other hand my experience is that the tour companies in Cozumel & Roatan are used to a lot of Carnival ships and use the time that they go by. This was also an issue when we were there last year. Our Celebrity ship changed it's time while the Carnival one stayed on EST. I finally told the tour operator to just watch for the ship and be there when we get off, no matter what their time or our time was.

Yes there has been a lot of questions, and rumors, those may be from never cruised to have cruised years ago, even some on the same ship to other ships, but when it is said with one character off, all hell breaks out...

Title says dispute on celebrity board, not ship:

Candy, Chocolates, Towel animal, of the 14 day cruise at least 3 towels made on our recent Celebrity Eclipse cruise. Last it was not, was on the Equinox. It is an added touch.

There is a Menu, that you can trip over, and the choices clear, whatever they are. a quieter place, or a better place it is a pool side café no less, different place, different crowd. selected dishes.

Michaels Club, 10:15 till late. Acts per cruise ship, Perry Grant, Posted in the daily, times 7:30-8:15. No other shows but open.

Breakfast is Tuscans, just a quieter place to Eat, as well the other specialty places for breakfast. with a smaller buffet offered. As well per menu

I do my best to enjoy my time worry about what is at hand... you'll never leave your seat, because some one steered you wrong..

Is English your second language? I truly have no idea what you are going on about 90% of the time.

  3. I can recommend Fifi for a taxi service. She was very good about communicating(which people in FP sometimes aren't) and the driver was there waiting with a sign with our name on it. Reasonable price also. I'll see if I can locate the contact information.

That was easier than I thought, I still had the email, here is her address.

  4. I have not decided what to do there. Our roll call is just about dead, so chartering the Aristocat would not be doable, although we did sign up for the SilverMoon in Barbados, as they rent out space on the boat, instead of having to take the whole catamaran. I would like to see the Baths, but have ankle issues, so think I will skip the climb.

We went snorkeling in St. Marteen last month, but after French Polynesia and the Galapagos, and Australia, have been really spoiled.

Is there much to see on Tortola, if we grab a cab? We are not really beach people, but after a few days at sea, will probably want to do something.

Drink Painkillers. Quite a good drink. I like the dock there, it looks like the ship is pulled up to the bank.

  5. Actually the Oceania package has more premium alcohols on it than X and is about the same price. Much better options in single malts & cognacs & specialty vodkas. You already get all the sodas, coffees, juices, waters, etc. in the basic fare.

  6. Oops, you're right (I just checked the deck plan). It's flow of the other end of deck 11 that they ruined with the AQ cabins and Tuscan Grill.

In any event, it was still due to Solsticizing.

I'm pretty sure that the Tuscan Grill on Constellation was in place before they put the AQ cabins on deck 11. It is in the area where some of the M class ships had a sports bar or flower shop.

  7. So, does anyone have a suggestion - I don't drink much at all (alcoholic) unless the fufu drink of the day catches my attention. I may like an occasional coke. I cannot get the Celebrity website information regarding the drink packages to work. An error message keeps coming up saying they can't find the page. It seems to me that if one person buys the classic package then the other person in the room gets the soda package for free. Is that right? Does the soda package include bottle water? Was I reading correctly that the classic package is $14.00 a day? That seems good considering the price of drinks. My husband may have an occasional glass of wine with dinner or a gin and tonic.

I can't quite decide if these packages are worth it for us or whether we should buy drinks on a "as needed" basis by the glass.

Our cruise is on the "Silhouette" on March 2.

The Classic package for Alcohol is $44 per day, plus 15%, and the other person in the cabin DOES NOT get a free soda package. What made you think that?

  8. Were you in Anytime dining?

As I said before, because of people coming and going at different times I don't think they do it in there, just in Traditional.

I was on the Solstice this past May, ate in Select dining and they DEFINITELY had the parade on the last formal night in the Select area.

  9. Red Ginger is our least favorite and my husband would be most unhappy if Polo was replaced by Jacques.

    To each his/or her own!!

LOL, I certainly agree with that. On our recent 26 days on Riviera we found Red Ginger to be our favorite and Polo only passable. Of course we live in the Midwest where we have really good steaks, so the bar is high. Really enjoyed Jacques as well as Toscana.

The funny thing is most people rave about the Sea Bass in Red Ginger while I found the Miso glaze to be way overboard. It certainly wasn't my favorite there. We ate in Red Ginger 7 times out of the 26 nights.

  10. Public hot tubs creep me out - what is relaxing about soaking in a chemical filled hot bath with a bunch of strangers while their and your dead skin is sloughy off and floating on everyone else. Yes people are peeing, hair is coming off of body parts and floating around - the whole idea is gross and then you want to let children go into that - yuck. Hot tubs when cleaned still are not clean - all kinds of yucky gunk is trapped in the pipes that just keeps re-circulating :cool: You all argue it out about who should or shouldn't be in the hot tub but luckily - it won't be me! ;):D

A person after my own heart. You would never catch me in one of those germ laden cesspools.

  11. As Jim and Stan said...your chances are slim and none.

Then on the other hand, on our recent, as in less than a month ago, Transatlantic on Riviera, the beverage package was still being advertised about day 7 or 8 out of 14 days.

I don't think there's a hard and fast rule on the beverage package. There does seem to be a cutoff on the Internet package around the 3rd day.

  12. How are we to know if our card will have a foreign transaction fee? The credit cards are issued in the USA, we are in the USA and Oceania is in the USA. Not our fault; Oceania's fault. The only reason for a foreign transaction fee is because Oceania uses a foreign bank to do the transaction. Uncalled for, not ethical, just not right.

Call your credit card provider and ask them if them charge them.

  13. The Jewelery shop actually sells some designer pieces (Roberto Coin/David Yurman) that are under $500 for baubles. They are at retail but are not usually discounted anywhere anyway.

On our recent trip we noticed a David Yurman piece in the boutique that my wife has. Just for fun I asked the price of it which was $4799. Less than 5 years ago we paid $2199 for it at the local store. This was not discounted. I know gold has gone up but surely not that much.

  14. On the same cruise as Wendy and I thought he did an excellent job. Just goes to show you, we all see things differently. It doesn't make any one opinion right or wrong, just different people liking different things.

  15. You can fly in the day or more before without incurring the deviation fee ...but you need to book their hotel pacakage ;)

What cruise lines allow you to fly in the day before the cruise with no added fee??

    Lyn

Celebrity, Azamara & Royal Caribbean with Choice Air.

  16. We live in California so it is very hard to get points. Their are hardly any Celebrity ships out of California. We were select and stayed select. I think a lot of it is in my head to become elite. We had 7 points. The reason why I want elite is for the drinks other than that not much different. What happen now is it will be very hard to get points if you cruise inside cabin. We usually go window if the difference of money is big for a veranda. For me what matter is when will Celebrity or Royal Caribbean bring a ship to California????? Thank I can become elite much easier.

Truly, you're not going to get much sympathy from those of us in the Midwest.

For what it's worth, Celebrity has ships leaving from Seattle and Vancouver all summer long.

  17. I thought some people (such as Host Andy) confirmed that the drink package upgrade was NOT extra on board? There was some confusion/ conflicting posts on this.

Sorry I'm confused but can someone confirm which it is? I'd like to wait til we get on board to upgrade (we have OBC) but not if its 50% more. TIA!!

My understanding is that the UPGRADE is not extra on board. It's when you wait to purchase the package that it is extra.

But, I don't think anyone else had mentioned upgrade on this post, just purchasing.
