  1. Just wait. Next you will get an email to book excursions for a cruise you don't have booked.

HaHa! I did cancel a cruise online and booked for a different ship the same week. Just hope my self- appointed "Certified Cruise Planner" who I never asked for and don't need, isn't messing with my online bookings!

  2. OP, you're right, you have a bad boss with serious control issues! I dealt with this for many years. Every time I had a vacation scheduled she would pile on extra work that had to be done before I could take my leave. I was always thoughtful of my fellow employees who had school age children and planned my vacations when it would not interfere with families with limited time for vacations. I always worked over the Christmas holidays and Thanksgiving so people with children could take leave when the children were off from school. (I worked for the US federal government for 38 years). When I decided to retire, my boss told me it was up to her to decide if I could retire or not, her decision not mine! I had already discussed it with her supervisor, much to her surprise! That being said, don't burn your bridges if you need the job!

  3. We are trying to go on Her Majesty over Thanksgiving Weekend, if we can work out work schedules. We have been on her many times, and probably will do the Taste of Tuscany. Many people I have heard, just like you, enjoyed it a great deal.

Yes, I enjoyed it very much! The area is so small that you get really personalized attention to every detail! The chef that made the presentation was not Italian and a little difficult for me to understand, but he was excited to share his knowledge!

  4. Hi Rhonda,

my next sailing on Majesty is Halloween weekend. What night do they offer taste of tuscany and how do you book it? Very interested in doing this.

    Thanks =)

I was on the 3 night weekend cruise. It was offered on Friday night and Sunday night at 7:30. You make your reservation by calling 3333 between 11:30 - 3 and 4 - 5. It will be listed in the Cruise Compass.

  5. Majesty currently offers a specialty dining event, a Taste of Tuscany. The Compass Deli gets transformed with tablecloths and wine glasses. A chef demonstrates how to make pasta. A good Italian meal is provided complete with wine. The cost is $30. There were only 5 people total the night that I attended. It was nice to have that little extra optional dinner choice.

  6. 95 between the Port and FLL is a combo of the Express lanes which any vehicle can use if it has a Sun Pass, and then HOV lanes from 7am to 9am. 2 people in the car is all you need to use the HOV so a taxi can use them.

Plus, in the morning, you are going in the opposite direction of most of the traffic.

    Good to know! Thanks Matt!

I saw many taxis sitting in the congestion while we went on by!

  7. Does Royal Caribbean have a commitment with the Port of Miami for a certain number of years? The larger ships go out of Fort Lauderdale. Is there a problem with channel? I know it was being dredged in August.

I love the Majesty! Personally I don't need rock climbing walls, malls, icerinks on a cruise. And on a small ship you can actually feel like you're at sea. I think she still has a purpose and following! That being said, Nassau lost its charm for me many cruises ago. I'd like to see Majesty do CocoCay and Key West on every cruise and skip Nassau.

  8. Shuttles can use the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on the interstate. Taxis with just the driver and two people cannot.

I used SAS in August and was highly pleased. They picked me up from my FLL hotel and arrived 10 minutes early. We then swung by the FLL airport and picked up 2 other passengers who had just arrived, then we were on the way to Miami. Upon return, I only had to wait about 5 minutes, then we went to another cruise terminal to pick up 3 other passengers who were already outside and waiting. I had self-disembarked. We were at FLL airport before 9:30.

    Hope this helps!

  9. That's funny! I sleep and shower with my watch on (my watch is waterproof) and I will sleep with the WOW BAND too!!

I am also not concerned if locals know I am a tourist. They know it regardless if you were the band or not.

    Shak

Now you'll have your WOW Band and your watch! It would be nice if the WOW Bands included a little watch. I want a lot for $2 a day, don't I?

  10. On Majesty last weekend, the dinger podium was only used for taking a picture to load onto the Seapass card when boarding. Getting on and off of the ship after that was all done by a scan reader device (handheld gun type thing). Majesty recently started loading the drink vouchers for D and above on Seapass cards. I wonder if the software updates are all part of the same system (RFID chip in Seapass card or bracelet)? I know RCCL often uses Majesty to train waiters, bartenders, etc. Maybe the system is currently being tested? We still had to take off hats and sunglasses, FYI, so the picture must have been coming up on the scan reader.

  11. I think the Gift basket is gone D+ got this on EN last week.P1000641_zps477a6189.jpg

This is what I received on Majesty this past weekend, also. I'd rather have a cheap pen available.

I must admit that I did receive additional treats everyday. A fresh fruit plate the first day. Chocolate covered strawberries one day, and another plate of chocolate covered strawberries and petit fours on one day, also a cheese/cracker/apricots/walnuts plate.

Also had the little bottles of shampoo, lotion, etc.

I was D+ in and oceanview cabin.

  12. That's a little surprising after recent good reviews of Majesty and the vouchers. But maybe it was so new, and reports of using vouchers until midnight was not a flexibility intended and staff got in trouble and now are trying to crack down.

I would have guessed every bar had many of the "menus" printed up shown in the images in these links and they would be set or or readily available during the Diamond hours. Since they have emailed out to pax they are offering it, they need to have staff informed and pre-printed menus would help I'd think.

Will you be doing a review? Did they say anything about why the elevators were broken? Did the VKL run more like a DL than a DE? Was it only unwelcoming in that it was hard to get to b/c of elevators?

I won't be doing a review. I have been having problems with my back, so didn't get to do most of the activities people would be interested in.

I asked to see the menu of what was included with the vouchers in the Schooner Bar, and they couldn't find it. Eventually they found it. On another night, I asked the waiter what I could get with the vouchers, he said what did I want? He would take care of his diamond people. I ordered a Cosmo. When that was finished I asked the next waiter for another and was told I couldn't have one with a voucher. He got one for me but it was wrung up as something else because it wasn't included.

Elevators weren't broken, just taken out of service. One was being used by Adventure Ocean staff and the art auction people, just not for paying cruisers. Oh, it was only 4 flights of stairs to VCL, I forgot there is no Deck 13. I didn't see any food offered in VCL.

Overall, it was a great cruise! Met some very interesting people, especially their majesties from Malaga, dressed in Spanish/Turkish garb?! Never could figure this out. They were in full costume, complete with headdress with feathers. Nice guys, very different and interesting! You just never know what kind of experience you will have on a cruise!

I will post more tomorrow, I've been up seen 5:00 AM.

  14. I'm home today from Majesty's 8/22 sailing. The vouchers were indeed loaded onto my seapass card. What was available with the vouchers varied greatly by bar, and even within each bar, depending on the server. A lot of confusion still. And the nightly event in the Viking Crown Lounge was not welcoming, to say the least! All of the aft elevators were out of service for the entire cruise. I had a cabin on Deck 9, so it was 5 flights of stairs. I went once and there were only a few people.
