  1. I've read in other threads that the inputs on the tv are disconnected. So I would bet not.

I wonder whether they are disconnect or inaccessible from the remote. If they are inaccessible from the remote, a universal remote or the peel app on samsung may be a work around. Also I know suites have a play station or some other game console, in which case at least one other input is enabled. I will be interested to hear if anyone e is successful.

  2. I'd for sure call if the drop was $50 or more. Less than that, it depends how much I've bothered the TA lately. However, if I was calling Royal direct, I'd call if the drop was $1.

Agreed. Our TA usually gives us a substantial OBC when we do initial booking, however he sometimes knocks $25 off of his offer when we get a price drop. So I weigh his effort in my decision.

  3. Hi I have a question or two...

Sailing on Liberty of the Seas in November and are given a choice of two dining times, 530 AND 800PM OR My Time dining. Was a hard decision deciding which dining option to pick. 530 too soon, especially after a day in port. 800 is really too late. I picked the My Time dining. So my question.....

Is 530 and 800 the only dining times fleet wide? Why no typical 600 dining time?

With "My Time" dining.... Say you like your table and servers you get your first evening in the MDR. Are you able to ask for the same group of servers on subsequent evenings?

    THANKS!

I feel the same way. A big part of our cruise experience is traditional Dining in the MDR at a big table full of strangers that we get to know over the course of a week. Our Freedom sailing next April also has the earlier seatings. However unhappy I am about it we still chose traditional MdR

  4. The 80 Kbs might enough for an iffy voice call, but doubt it would work for a usable video connection. Until we get more reporting we don't know the limitations on SURF - it might not be bandwidth but only specific video (and BW) intensive sites/apps.

yes, I was considering voice only

  5. I booked the exact cabin I wanted on the April 13 sailing... But still waiting to see if the April 27 sailing shows back up.. A little worried about hitting a late spring break crowd on the sailing on the 13th...

Cost for suites are really reasonable. We always book a Junior Suite but we booked an Owner's Suite for the very first time on the April 13, 2018 9 night. Couldn't resist the price.

  6. I like deck 8 because of it's proximity to Central Park.

I agree, it looks like there are no lifeboats under the aft half of the hump. Also, the hump extends the balcony out anyhow, so less chance for obstruction.

Thanks again! We currently have 10236, but 8240 and 6240 are available. All on the port side aft hump. All would be fine, if I would only stop thinking.[emoji2]

  7. The lifeboats are pretty well tucked under deck 6. There might be a bit of downward view obscured, but not much. I prefer deck 8 if that's possible.

Thanks Bob, I was hoping you would chime in. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the JS on the rear hump don't have life boats under them at all? Why do you prefer deck 8?

  8. So my dilemma is getting a JR suite on a higher deck or a lower deck on Oasis? Every RC ship we have been in in the past, the JS was on a higher deck and we have always enjoyed the bird's view and having a true appreciation of the size and scale of the ship. We have also been in a mini suite on a princess ship which was on closest cabin deck to the water. We really enjoyed being that close to the water. We have never been on an O-class ship, but appears that the JS on deck 6 have an unobstructed (no life boat below) View of the water?

So the question is which do you prefer and why?

Point of note, motion sickness is not an issue.

    Thanks

  9. I am a little slow with all this tech talk. I have a Verizon Turbo Maxx. I see how to activate the wifi calling, but do all the phone numbers (cellular and land line) have to be wifi calling enabled? I know land lines are different, but me home number us on a Verizon network. Thanks

if your phone is wifi enabled you can make and receive calls from any number on any network

  10. See you onboard!! Careful. We booked our first suite 15 years ago. Never went back to anything else!! Lol. Hopefully the new suite benefits will be on Navigator by then.

we almost always do juniors. we did a Grand for our wedding cruise last April but that was a gift to us. I understand the benefits and loved the extra space but the extra cost is usually equal to a single berth in a Junior.....which equals more cruises[emoji2]

  11. If you have an iPhone 5C or later with iOS 9 or later, you already have WiFi calling (if your carrier allows it). AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint have all enabled WiFi calling.

    Basic information is here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203032

Turn off cellular, turn on WiFi, and enable WiFi calling. The phone will behave just as though it's on a cellular network at home.

Android may have something similar, but this was a pretty big change for iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy s6 and s7 also have wifi calling capabilities without 3rd party apps
