dear mr bull just wondered if you had any tips advice for a group of 4 adults arriving at istanbul cruise port sept 15 and needing to transfer to the asian side for their hotel !

many thanks for that roothy i will put it on my high possibles list ,transfers too n from hotel etc, access to major sights and eateries /watering holes nearby that arnt to exhorbitant are also a consideration .all the best to you n yours N.:)

roothy you are a research legend that was so precise and detailed ,we are flying into marco polo airport 11am mid morning and our cruise leaves 5 pm same day we then plan to stay 2 days after our cruise before flying back home ,we do like our comfort and also dragging luggage too far is a problem due to disability i can manage a little tho ,any advice or tips on hotels etc would be much appreciated ,ps i saw you mention the molino stucky is that an option ?:)

i thankyou for your kind advice barb ,even few words like that are a great help in giving me that nudge i need ,ive traveled all over the world into cities where english isnt widely spoken and have always had a wonderful time so yes why would paris be any differant ,i guess my confidence has been knocked a little due to health issues . but i can get on a train at home and be in paris in 3hrs so it should be and is now on my to do very soon list along with new york and las vegas :) thankyou very much again barb .ps fave citys of mine i have visited top 5 hong kong ,prague,stavanger,lisbon and singapore

ive greatly enjoyed your posts and once i found out how to see them your photos too ,i look forward to your paris thoughts also .its a city my wife says she would like to visit and the reason we havent done so yet im afraid is my fault ,i have been lulled into the belief that not speaking french makes paris a difficult city to feel at ease in ! i welcome anyones feedback on this in an atempt to have my fears quashed .

hi everyone my wife and i sailed from athens to southampton onboard QM2 after the athens olympic games ,loved it we are now planning a transatlantic in the future most likely fly to NYC few days there then cruise back to southampton, any tips advice etc is much apreciated .

thanks for researching i recieved the same reply and 140 quote weirdly minites after your post do do do do do do do do (thats supposed to be twilight zone music lol ) so now all we need to do is find capacity and get a group together for our specific sailings :)

add to those .1 bartin 2 giresun 3 hopa 4 ordu 5 rize 6 samsun 7 zongulday (all black sea) 8 dikilli 9 guluk (agean sea) plus at least another eleven ports ive not time to name in the straits of marmara ! on top of these are smallish ports like side etc dotted around the med .VOTE TURKEY !!:)

hi hank ty for your post ,and i see completely where your comming from with that ,our reasons for choosing a hotel in kadikoy were many it is surrounded by bars restaurants designers shopping and has the largest market in istanbul it is very close to the marina wich is fantastic to stroll through in the evening stopping for a meal or drink to see the views across the bosphorus ,it is also close to the fenerbache football stadium which i have wanted to visit for so long and is on the right side of the city for our family members who are flying back to new zealand from sabiha gokcen airport .the ferry to the other side is a 5 min walk thus we will get a couple of cruises a day :) the hotel itself has indoor pool and rooftop outdoor pool and every facility one would need my only concerns are timings for my 2 transfers cruise port -hotel and hotel-ataturk airport ,cost are of no worry as i am not paying a thing for the hotel which was the clincher !!:)

may i ask some advice on istanbul travel ?.we dock on a friday morning at 7 am at the cruise terminal ,our hotel is on the asian side in kadikoy there will be 4 adults with luggage what would you consider our best transfer option ? also we are flying home monday morning from attaturk airport at 8 am any transfer advice for that ? we aim to sightsee friday pm and all day sat and sunday and i expect will use ferry and metro ,what are taxis like tho ?any help and advice most welcome :)

looks like a few are looking at the option to get a boat to oia and bus back lets hope someone who has recent experiance can post a reply to help us all out ! maybe worth putting a post on some of the current roll calls asking for help

just a huge thankyou for all you folk posting info on santorini ,we are going in september 15 and do like the idea of getting a boat to and from oia ,all help and tips greatfully appreciated ,we are also debateing upon a visit to the newly founded santorini brewing company i think it is in mesa gonia ,anyone know where this is in relation to our trip ?:)
