If you travel on a scheduled flight to Barbados, then you have to go through immigration and collect your luggage in the terminal.

If you travel on a P&O charter flight you come straight of the plane onto a fleet of buses to take you straight to the ship. You do not enter the terminal. Your luggage follows behind and gets delivered to your cabin later. This is one benefit of a charter flight.

Not true we travelled with Virgin on a scheduled service and they kept the luggage separate and therefore we transferred direct from the plane to cruise terminal just the same as previous years when flying with TUI or TC

  2. Reading the terms of Nationwides Flex Account Travel Insurance are the cruises covered at all because they don’t include port calls.

    Cruise
A pre-booked trip of at least 48 hours organised by a Cruise Lines International Association member on a boat or ship with a documented schedule including at least one port stop.

  3. If I knew it was going to upset people I would carry out the bottle every night. The only think frowned upon is taking out the restaurant wine glasses they are different to the ones in the bars. I have never had any issue asking for a glass in any bar with bottle in hand.

Enjoy wine with your dinner and then finish the bottle off wherever you choose

  4. The shuttles worked perfectly well. There were slight queues on arrival but after an hour or so no queues whatsoever. There were at least 15 coaches on arrival. No problems on return either.

We did  miss St Peter port because of high winds which were forecast  again the Captain made an announcement the day before questioning if we would be able to tender. I would like to have a backup port call and make the decision earlier than on the day. 3 sea days on a 7 day cruise is a bit much

  5. The range is small but you can order items and have them delivered to your home address for free. I ordered an iPhone that wasn't on board and it was delivered within 3 days after returning home. Apple products are slightly cheaper than UK stores plus your discount too.

  6. We had a similar issue on a previous cruise after several attempts with reception we had no joy, so I recorded the noise from the next cabin and went to reception and played the recording and refused to leave until we got moved.

Eventually we moved and got some rest and enjoyed the cruise.

Also don't forget to put in writing to customer service after your cruise, we got a small obc for our next cruise.

  7. I've just received an email, is this genuine or a scam, I have my doubts

P&O Cruises invites you to take part in market research!

  8. We have just been on Azura, identical to Ventura in an inside cabin, originally we booked D517 because it was midships but the vibrations in the cabin forced us to ask for a move. We were moved to B236 towards the front and higher up but it was excellent, no noise and very little movement despite encountering rough seas across the bay of biscay.

  9. On out last cruise we had no problems with the drinks waiters in the Beach House, they would happily go and get drinks from the main restaurant, one evening they collected wine left over from the previous evening and once when we ordered winde from the commordores collection. Both times they said they had to be collected and it would take about 10 minutes.

  10. We fly out from Manchester and had booked extra leg room seats, we were allocated different extra leg room seats when they changed the configuration. Not such a big problem but we originally had just two seats together now we are on a block of three. Not suprisingly we didn't get offered any refund or compensation.

  11. We go next week and just had confirmation from P&O that the seat configuration is changing from 2-4-2 to 3-3-3 because Thomas Cook refurbishment plan as overran.

When we booked our seats it was 2-4-2 but we have now been moved because of this. So I guess you will have to wait and see what configuration you will get.

  12. We have used various premier inns/holiday inn express hotels on route to Southampton from the North then park with CPS, but for our next cruise we are staying at the Best Western Chilworth Manor who offer a one night stay and parking with transfers to and from then cruise terminal.
