We have been to both and much prefer Hubbard Glacier. Our first cruise to Alaska included HG and it is HUGE with lots of calving. Our next cruise was to Glacier Bay and we were disappointed! We have been to Alaska four times and would love to go again. 😄

Welcome back to HAL. How did you like Princess? We have been thinking of booking a cruise with them. Most of our cruises have been with HAL but we have gone on several RC ships and one Disney ship.
-
I would choose the Nieuw Statendam. New ship, great music venues, fantastic food (lobster & filet mignon in the lido (buffet). We are cruising on her in March (can't wait).
I think you will find HAL to be a step above other cruise lines in food and service. Just my honest opinion. Give it a try!

We also use the dry cleaner bags, I leave dress clothes on hangers and pack all in bags. Easy to remove from suitcase and hang right in the closet. We have very little to no wrinkles this way.

Don't believe so. My son booked a large inside and from the pictures posted online there is no couch or chair but there is a window in K11057 & K11058.

I was on the NS Jan 13th-20th and had purchased the soda package and was disappointed that the cups were not onboard. If I was told this at booking I would have purchased the soda cards instead. I inquired at customer service and was told they could remove the soda package but would not honor the pre-sail price of the cards ($25 for $50) So, I purchased a cup at our first port. I ordered my soda at the bar and put it in my insulated cup to keep it cold while at the pool. Very disappointing, but since the ship is new I wrote it off as a minor incident!
We thought about ordering the package but decided to just take our soda on board. We are stopping at CVS or some other spot and purchasing Diet Pepsi for me and regular Pepsi for DH. Much less expensive and we are taking our insulated cups.

We cruised exclusively with HAL for several years but then tried a few cruises on RC. We love the Oasis Class ships for the entertainment, but do not like the crowds.
HAL has better food, great ambiance, great service and just all around beats RC in my opinion.
If you have small kids or teenagers, they would probably prefer RC but I have heard really great things about Club Hal and there are way fewer kids on HAL.
I think you should try it, you may never go back. I would try one of the newer ships or if the itinerary is more important then pick one based on that. All of HAL's ships are great.
We are going on the Nieuw Statendam next month and can hardly wait!!

Check out my pics of Inside room K11058 on the Facts about HAL site. An interior room with a window.
Do you know if K11057 also has the window?

Thanks for the review. I have one question, did you notice if passengers had the drink cups for the Freestyle Soda Machine. I had heard they were still on order and we are sailing on NS in March and would like to know before we buy the package.
Thanks!

I would call and see if you can get a paid upgrade. If it is not sold out, you should be able to. Good Luck!

Someone on our roll call told me to log in Chrome, I did and they printed just fine. 😄

Do you get an error message when you try to print?
No not an error message. It just wouldn't print and when I went to my downloads, it would show an encrypted message. But, I logged in to Chrome and they printed just fine.

A lido cabana would be fine NOT one in the retreat, however. We had a cabana in the Caribbean and it was great! Loved having our own little oasis and the butler was fantastic!
-
Yes, still not working.

Our cruise docs and luggage tags were ready to print yesterday. I printed the luggage tags but the cruise docs would not display on screen or print. It said to disable pop-ups and I did that but they still will not print.
Anyone else have this problem?

Haven't sailed on her yet but we do love aft cabins. Having said that I would really love that larger balcony on 4154. Those rooms always sell out fast. Is there any difference in stateroom sq. ft.?
Not much help was I? I would probably pick 4154.
-
We are able to print ours this Thursday! YAY … it seems more real after you have those luggage tags printed out!
-
We have left the ships, with our own luggage, and made flights as early as 9:00 a.m. and this was RC Oasis class ships.
You should be fine with the earlier flight, I have waited in the airport for afternoon flights and it was not fun. FL airport is not that big with pretty much nothing to do.

Thanks, not expecting anything (we got a fantastic price with the sale) but it would be nice!

We are using our PCC for the first time for our upcoming cruise. We booked with her because she is very knowledgeable about the ship and stateroom sizes.
For those who have used a PCC before, does your PCC give you an onboard gift (wine, etc.). Just wondering and didn't want to ask her.

We've cruised HAL, RC & Disney.
RC is our choice when we want more entertainment and the ships (Oasis class). The Oasis class does not feel crowded, maybe just the elevators. Shows are fantastic, to us food is not as good as HAL. Love the Oasis ships. There are tons of "kids" onboard and you will notice more international passengers. Ports are really limited on the Oasis class ships. We have cruised the older ships on RC and not a fan.
We cruise HAL when we want good food, relaxation, Half Moon Cay and good ports. We are cruising on the Nieuw Statendam in March and really looking forward to the new ship!

We haven't watched sail away in some time but planning to watch this afternoon as we are booked on NS in March!
-
You should be able to change rooms with no problem. I would call ASAP.

See if 4154 or 4156 is available. Look at the deck plans. These balconies are HUGE.
