We just booked the non-refundable fare, price was too good to pass up, but we added the platinum insurance and we can still cancel if need be and get a 90% refund (minus insurance of course).
Our cruise is in March, too, which is within the final payment window.

We booked the NS when the price was really good a few weeks ago for 3/10/19 sailing. Checked yesterday and our balcony stateroom category has gone up $500 since we booked. Still a lot of rooms available so I cannot figure out the HAL pricing but glad I booked when the price was down.

Yes, 4154 & 4156 are the largest and are usually the first to go.
-
We booked the Nieuw Statendam for our spring break cruise. New ship and a lot less kids on board and they are having a great sale on this sailing.
I am recovering from double knee replacement and feel a smaller ship and low key will be a lot better for my first cruise since surgery.
Hoping to cruise on a Mega Ship next fall or winter.
-
We just booked this ship for March 2019. Sale was too good to resist!
Looking forward to sailing on this new ship!
We also usually only eat in the lido so looking forward to the great selections. HAL has the best food!

We are looking at March 2019.

Looking to book a Spring Break Cruise on Harmony. Is this a good time to book or do you think they will have another sale with better prices?
-
Anyone?
Looking at 8329 - 20% obstruction
8726 - no obstruction
9329 - 35% obstruction
11329 - 20% obstruction
10325 - no obstruction
I thought being the last far aft would be better but it is showing obstruction, I guess because of the slide.
How about the 10th floor - 10325?
-
What is the date of the christening?
-
We are thinking of booking a cruise on Symphony. Which deck would be better for boardwalk cabin 8 or 9 or higher? We would want to get as aft as possible but would want the least obstructions possible. I am thinking deck 8.
What do you think?

7 days @ $499 is a better deal in my book...that's what January sailings on the NS were selling for during the last sale.
I agree that is a good deal. The cheapest I can find now for a 7 night is $699 on the new NS.
-
$1058 doesn't sound like a bargain to me for 4 days in an inside.
7 day sailings in January on the same ship were selling for less during the "Ready, Set, Sail" sale.
They have a restricted fare for $379/pp + fees and port charges = $978.00 - sounds like a good deal to me!!

I am not seeing this email either.
If this pricing goes that far ahead... Does it include the Med. Mosaic, Sept. 27 ???
No, it only includes the Caribbean.
-
I received an email yesterday with private sale prices. Did anyone take advantage of this?
We weren't planning on going on a cruise in the near future, but there are some good prices. Thinking of booking the Niew Statendam for the 4 day when it gets to FL 12/19-12/23. Price for a guarantee inside for 2 is $1,058.

When we were on the Oasis, several years ago, they did police them and removed belongings after 30 minutes if left unattended. We watched them do this.
-
We just booked the Oasis for January '18. We've been on Oasis and Allure although both were not recent and wanted to go on Harmony but the prices were too high.
Maybe we will go on Harmony in a few years when prices are more reasonable.

We love the Library on HAL. It is a nice and quiet place to just take in the scenery. Lot's of comfortable chairs. Also, there is a jigsaw puzzle on one of the large tables and guests are always working on it. On our recent 14 day cruise to Alaska, I think there were 6-8 huge puzzles completed. You will find guests stopping by to add a piece or two during their busy days. Lot's of fun!
We really enjoyed the thermal suite package when we were on the "Westie". It was not crowded at all, as they limit the # of guests reservations.

Thank you,
We have the cabin for a 30 day cruise and in the photos I only saw the closets that look like they are by the door where you enter the cabin.
Mary
It could use more closet space. They are by the door and the two for hanging clothes are narrow. I used one and my DH the other and we managed but it was tight. Luckily it was Alaska so we could fold our heavier clothes and store them in the drawers. There is plenty of drawer space. The other closet has the safe but we used it for shoes and folded clothes (jeans, etc.). There was also a small hanging shelf at the bottom of that closet where we hung our coats.

Just returned from 14 days on the Maasdam. We were tired of the food after a few days. They seem to serve a variation of the same thing night after night. Lots of Lamb (which we do not like) and Pork Belly?? Never a decent steak in the Lido or a baked potato like they used to have. We did not eat in the dining room (not a fan of 1-2 hour dinners).
The mashed potatoes had a weird taste (that may be what you are talking about). I fix made from scratch mashed potatoes at home and just add milk, butter, salt & pepper. I think they use some kind of beef or chicken broth which makes the potatoes taste weird (did not like them).
I basically lived on the Asian dishes and my DH ate a lot of pasta, pizza & hamburgers.
The desserts were far better on this cruise than our last few cruises.

Oh you should try to go to Norway next year! It's absolutely fabulous! We've gone several times and would go again in a heartbeat. But if you have an inside cabin spend as much time as possible outside or in the Crow's Nest viewing the fjords and other gorgeous Norwegian scenery.
We did spend a lot of time outside our room on this cruise to view the scenery it was spectacular.
We are excited about Norway but not sure we can go. The price of the airfare seems awfully expensive (almost as much as the cruise). When is the best time to look for airfare and does it really take 11-14 hours to fly to Rotterdam?

My brother had this cabin on the Ryndam (before it was transferred) and he really enjoyed it, but did mention a quirk. For some reason, he could clearly, and loudly hear the alarm that sounds when the sliding down cover over the Lido Pool area is being opened or closed in the cabin. He said it was the only real downside of that cabin, but was not enough to prevent him from booking it again.
It was incredibly spacious -- definitely large enough for our traveling party of 5 to use when we all wanted to get together or meet before heading out.
We never heard the pool cover being opened or closed and it was opened quite often. They had several barbeques on the pool deck and opened them for ventilation.
-
In that case, glad it worked out for you!
If you really liked this cabin, then 2619 is the same configuration on the Rotterdam. It's on Main Deck, precisely at mid-ship. Perfect location.
If you want to upgrade just a bit, I will recommend any inside cabin on Lower Promenade, between the atrium and the mid-ship elevator. I was partial to 3345 there, but any of them will do.
Thanks Ruth, I will check out these rooms!

We have 549 booked on the Maasdam for February. It doesn't look like there are many closets. Was that a problem for you? We're going with cheaper cabins now that my husband is retired so we can go on more cruises but will have to learn to pack a little differently.
Mary
We did notice the smaller closets. We were on a 14 day cruise and took more clothes than needed (especially since we had the unlimited laundry pkg.). It does have a lot of drawer space. We did not use the ones in the night stands.

This cabin is one of two matching cabins, the other being on the starboard side. I've stayed in that cabin on the Maasdam and the (former) Ryndam. These are what are commonly termed "sideways" cabins, and are larger than the other "large" insides, as well as configured differently.
I've stayed in identical cabins on every R-class ship, too. All have the passageway on two sides, and a staircase on a third side. They are my favorite cabins on these two classes of ship.
Ruth,
I booked this room because of your recommendation. Thank You!!
Do you have a recommendation for an inside on the Rotterdam (just in case we decide to book the charter for next year)?
what is this--Non refundable pricing?

See if 4154 or 4156 is available. Look at the deck plans. These balconies are HUGE.
