  1. Thanks! Since it isn't a price change, I was hoping this is the case, in case we decide to switch. We booked when it was $200 OBC for a balcony, which we took because we booked through CAS with my BF's TR Diamond discount so we will get drink cards. However, I am still thinking of just changing to the UBP. I know CAS is a somewhat separate entity, but with all of the recent changes, I have developed a paranoia that they won't give us drink cards or something :o.

I never had a problem with CAS you should be fine.

  2. You must be beyond fed up at this point! I hope you get it sorted soon, I would be furious if I had to spend two days on this.I am so glad I switched.

    Rochelle

Yes looks like I will have no choice but to switch! I actually feel dirty after talking to them. I will not allow anyone in my party to eat in any of the specialty restaurants I will not give NCL anymore of my money.

  3. So according To Elizabeth there is no Entertainment department I can speak with thats internal only and she sent them an email yesterday with no response yet.

The show has been booked and anyone on Cruise Critic saying they booked it yesterday is not being truthful...Those were her words!

Twice she said she would pull up the conversation with the other two reps(Tim and NO NOTHING) I said do it!!!! Are you kidding me Ive been lied too for two days!

    Double talk and Lies!

She said she will let me know what they say by the end of the day....

  4. Just checked and the webiste has updated the terms and conditions for UDP :

For Sailings on or after July 3rd, 2015

The Ultimate Dining Package (UDP) is available via pre-sell or onboard purchase on days 1 and 2 of the voyage only. On 3-day sailings the package is only for sale on day 1. No refunds are available if fewer restaurants are visited. The UDP is nontransferable. Reservations are not required for UDP guests, however, tables reserved onboard will be subject to availability for reservations made 24 hours in advance. We encourage you to log in to My NCL to make dining reservations in advance for specific night(s) of your cruise. An 18% gratuity and specialty service charge will be added to the package price. A 25% discount applies to all a la carte and entertainment based dining and select Specialty Restaurants. These venues include: Sushi, Raw Bar, Food Republic, Hot Rock, Tapas Bar, Noodle Bar, Ocean Blue, Ocean Blue on The Waterfront, The Cellars, The District, Murder Mystery, Cirque Dreams & Dinner, Illusionarium, Supper Club, Wine Lovers, Pajama Jam, Bayamo and Pincho by Jose Garces. Chef’s Table, Jazz Brunch, Carlo’s Bake Shop items, Ice Cream Bar, Pizza 24/7 and Gelato are not part of the package.

Of course they did LOL but it doesn't change the fact they others booked the show for free.......even after my call with NCL

  5. I do just want to thank you for posting this as I read it earlier but didn't reply.

We got the UBP for free, but I was planning on buying the UDP closer to our sail date, even with the increased prices (though it took me awhile to even come to that decision...)

And tonight, our room drops by almost $500. Great! I can use that extra money for the UDP! But upgrading to an M6 still drops the price by $20 (with 4 people, 2 being teenage boys.. space is a good thing!) Then I remembered your post.

M6 it was then! Nickle and Dime me all you want anymore NCL for this cruise. You can have the change, the real dollars will stay in my pocket this time!

And make sure you check your final bill before leaving the ship!

You will enjoy the balcony for the M6.

  6. This is an example of the 2 tiers of customers on NCL.

I am travelling with my family - and likely will be able to find one afternoon when I can take some time for myself and enjoy an adult area. How sad I will be with my face pressed up against the glass (figuratively speaking) watching adults lounge on cushioned seats in a relaxing quiet and restful environment that I am being purposely excluded from because it makes no sense to book for a full week. On all other lines I have cruised there has been an exclusive adult area I could access without reaching into my pocket first - although I always reached after for the amazing drinks

Just NCL finding more ways to rip its customers off!

  7. Thanks for the info. I guess there is no hope for us then... I was hoping we can see the Dinner show for free with our Udp. :(

I hope you get your Cirque show booked for free since you are sailing in June.

I have to say that this is just ridiculous! NCL is being really sneaky and implementing changes without any warning or proper communication!

And please watch your bill at the end of the cruise I will be making sure they do not over charge me a dime........next stop the BBB

  8. I can't believe I'm reading more about NCL!! I am disgusted by them. I will be chasing folks away from using them. Maybe they need to be shaken up to get their attention!

I agree with you. I was an honest loyal customer. They have lied and tried to cheat me out of money...they are still trying BTW.

I have lost thousands in NCLs casino and onboard those days are over.

I will never recommend this cruise line to anyone again. Not even if its a free cruise because they will try to rip you off!

  9. We are not happy. Ever since we booked our upcoming cruise on the getaway we keep hearing of these negative changes at NCL (additional gratuties...no longer comp illusionarium on first night....service charge for room service..etc). Planning a trip with NCL is no longer fun but stressful. We have been on about 5 NCL cruises and several others on RCCL, princess, carnival and celebrity. I do not remember feeling so annoyed on the other lines as i do now with ncl. We are coming up to our cancellation period and considering making a change. Even if we stay with this one, i will shop others next time. We are a family of 6.

    I agree with you 100%

  10. Wow, this sucks! When did they make the change??

We have UDP as well for our Dec cruise.

They finally after being on the phone for an hour said it will be for all sailings after July.........But my cruise is June 28th so it makes no sense and others on my cruise from CC got it with no problem, They went as far as asking me to give them the reservation #'s of the passengers who got it free with the UDP on my sailing......The nerve!

They could have just honored it but refused all three of the NCL customer service reps I spoke to.

And Cagneys was never available for me to book on the site I didn't even get into that. I tried at 12:01 am. 90 days out.

  11. That is Outrageous. I sure hope whoever calls you tomorrow has some shred of sense. This perk is clearly stated as included in UDP, they use it as a selling point. Really sad to see NCL sinking so low:(

To be honest I am more sad then mad at this point. Such a shame but all good things come to an end.

Lets see what Elizabeth (the supervisor liar) has to say tomorrow. If she even calls me! because she could have fixed it today but refused.

    Will keep you posted.

  12. I just honestly can't comprehend this...how you can sell someone a cruise with a promotion that has certain perks attached and then change those perks without any notice or option to change...I mean, I know that you can currently change because the promotion still exists, but what about someone who doesn't happen to go on cruise critic? They log onto their account here in 4 months right after final payment ready to book their specialty dining just to find out one of the main reasons they book it doesn't exist?

We chose the UBP but at this rate, who knows what could happen to that by then. I posted a thread a few weeks ago stating if all these changes were making those who booked a long way out nervous (we have our first suite booked early 2017). Everyone kind of acted like I was crazy because they said it was such a good promo and prices would just go up. But at the rate NCL is going, the promos could be worth very little by the time the cruise actually rolls around, defeating the entire purpose of booking them in the first place.

That is exactly what they are trying to do. But they got caught today and I will not let it go!

You don't lie and steal from your customers and then when they call lie some more OMG Good thing for CC

  13. I hear you, kids will probably have an amazing time in the waterpark.

I can imagine how upset you are about Cirque. I still can't believe they are not fixing this for you. Why not just book it and pay for it now, once onboard go to Guest Services and have them credit you with OBC because clearly they are giving it to people for free with the UDP on your sailing. Or just call excursion/dining customer service in a week or so and say, hey they actually charged my card for this, it's supposed to be free. Don't even mention that you were told it couldn't be booked, as Clearly It Can.

Because I was lied to three times today by NCL do you think I'm going to stand online at the customer service desk for something that NCL is refusing to fix now.

They tried to rip me off whenisthemidnightbuffet? by telling me I don't get that night free only when I told them I am speaking to people on cruise critic did they say they will call me tomorrow and if its sold out then I have to pay.

  14. My wife and I have cruised RCCL, X, and NCL. Our first cruise (our honeymoon) was on RCL on an older ship (Legend of the Seas), and we absolutely loved it. We're probably biased because it was our honeymoon and it was in Europe, but I think we're going to go back to them.

Thats great I heard the casino is fantastic on RCCL my friend won 7k last year.

  15. Change ships! Come and join me and DH on The Gem for June 27th, you are still outside of final payment today and the promo is still running. :):):):)

I looked at that cruise too! The little girls are so excited for the slides on the BA.

Really I'm so turned off to NCL right now. I have been lied to by three different NCL workers. Just to get the free dinner show. And they still would not book it for me. YUCK

Will be happy to cruise with you guys on any other line!

Just two more NCL cruises because they are already booked!

Who know maybe they will be great

  16. If you can justify it because staff gave poor service.

    That is a false statement.

Tip who you want what you want. I have a feeling there will be a long line at customer service, until NCL stops ripping off customers.

Maybe they should pay their workers more or maybe those workers will move to more honest cruise lines!

  17. So, just to clarify, I can opt out of the $12.50 service fee once on board?

Yes you can and should! It appears NCL has found plenty of ways to rip you off!

It's NCL's job to pay their employees tips as you please!

I used to tip above and beyond those days are over! Guess NCL should raise salaries or those workers should work on more fair cruise lines.

  18. I purposely took the UDP for the kids room only because of the show, if they remove it, I will switch over to tips or soda plan but I will also refuse to take the kids to see it on principle alone

Absolutely! I am sailing with two friends and their two daughters (first cruise for them) thats why I picked the dining plan. I would cancel all together but the kids are so excited!

And I foolishly have bragged to them about NCL UGH how things have changed in a week!
