  1. Gahh

Just a bit if a rant, I want to take my family of five on a cruise, but it's just so expensive.

How can my children aged 12 & 14 be classed as adults?

    I also have a 3 year old.

I wish they would give a discount on the adult prices for children.

Say an adult price is $1000

    I think a child should be $600- $700

I don't know how they can class teenagers as adults. They are children!

    Rant over.

  2. Can you self disembark at a later time?

I would rather not leave my bags out at all, I am going on rhapsody in feb.

I'm an Aussie, we get on the ship at Sydney, and also end the cruise in sydney, only sailing in Aussie waters.

What would be the latest time we can get off the ship? We only love about a two your drive from the port. And will not be in a hurry to get home.

  3. I am wanting to know what it is really like onboard.

Movement of the ship, especially at night when trying to sleep.

How rough does the sea have to be, to notice the movement when walking around the decks.

I am going on rhapsody (incase size really does matter in this case)

How many of you have suffered sea sickness, if you did suffer sea sickness, was it rough seas?

  4. Okay, if you are from Oz, then the adapters you have will work (if the back side is the Australian two angled flat prongs and one round prong) in the US 110v outlets, BUT ONLY FOR ELECTRONICS. Do not plug hair dryers, etc into the US style outlets, unless you have a voltage converter as well as the adapter. Your better bet would be to get an adapter from Australian standard to the European round pin, as this would mean you wouldn't need a voltage converter. Be advised that things that have a motor, like a hair dryer, will run a little faster on the 60Hz power as opposed to your 50Hz at home.

I am only taking my GHD and Iphone charger. Should I also get the European adapter?

I am so confused, could anyone link me to the European adapter on eBay?

If it's not to much trouble and you know what I need? Pretty please!

  5. You should be OK as long as the front part of the plug you pictured will fit your Aussie plugs.

Yes the front part fits our Aussie plugs.

That wasn't the issue. My friends who have cruised before on another RCCL ship said that the plugs on board were three holes beside each other like in the 1st pic that "Weislaw" posted.

    I need to know if the ship has this outlet;

    Not this outlet

  6. Correct, what we really need to know is where you are from, and what you intend to plug into the adapters, the pictures shown look like just an outlet adapter, not a converter, so you will still be getting only 110v out of the socket.

I am an Aussie, I only need 110v

My ghd and iphone chargers are both 110v

  7. I am from Australia.

Going on the rhapsody leaving from sydney.

    I only need 110 volts

Because I will only be using it for my

All important GHD hair straightener :-)

And also my iphone. They are both 110.

On the other side it fits my Aussie plug into it.

My friends said that the adapter won't plug into the power point on the ship.

But when I phoned RCCL, before I purchased them, they told me the ship uses 110 volts or watts lol not sure which? And that they are North American plugs.

So that's what I thought these were?

  8. Wow thanks so much, that's really good ideas.

I'm not taking our kiddies with us. We are cruising with 4 friends. We are Aussies but have not really left nsw. Only to the Gold Coast once.

So traveling is very new to us. I will pass on all your ideas to my friends.

    Thanks so much

  9. On our last cruise there was a special the first couple of days on the ship that was the same price we had paid in advance. After that it went up a little. Not sure if it the same on all ships all the time.

Do you happen to know the prices for rhapsody for a 10 night cruise

  10. Not all 2016 cruises are available, but the Freedom, Oasis, Allure, Serenade and Grandeur are available now. All Caribbean sailings.

Once we sailed in #1100 earlier this month, we became addicted to it.

Good to know there are a lot of other members in the club!!!

We are already booked for feb 2015

But really want to book for feb 2016

Also. Does anyone know when those cruises will be released for Aussie cruisers?

  11. If you are departing on 7 Feb on Rhapsody then I will be joining you. I'm still to even think about the shore tours having a couple of other trips to organise between now and then.

If you go to the ship's Roll Call then you'll find others that are also taking that cruise so perhaps you could ask the question there!

    Best wishes!

    Gae

    Hi gae,

Yes I already joined the rollcall, and I have seen your posts on there.

I have posted some questions on the rollcall but it seems like it's not very active just yet.

    See you onboard :-)

  12. I'm cruising in feb 2015

    Stopping at ;

    Hobart

    Bernie

    Melbourne

    Adelaide

    Sydney

Being a Novocastrian, I know what I want to do and see in sydney, but I have no idea about the other cities.

Has anyone been there, that could suggest some ideas for me?
