We were on Radiance this February 14. The Centrum was decorated with balloons - it was very festive. There was a Valentine's Day Cake Cutting in the Centrum in the evening - we didn't attend so can't comment on the ceremony or the cake. They also played "Valentine's Day" movie and had Valentine's Trivia in the Schooner Bar.

I was on an NCL ship on valentines day once, and we each got a red carnation in our room in a vase on the 14th. There were also special back drops with hearts if you wanted professional pictures taken.

That sounds lovely, I hope they do the special hearts background for my cruise

We love valentines day, and that was part of the reason we picked this cruise.

Hmm, I just phoned RCCL, to ask what the theme nights will be for my cruise, and they said that they do not know!!

He said that, he is sure that the crew decide once the ship has sailed.

I know that when I have phoned them in the past to ask about things, I get one answer and then a different answer If I speak to someone else. They don't seem to be very consistent.

How do other cruisers plan ahead for theme nights. I'm not talking formal nights. I know that my cruise will have two formal nights.

I am talking about theme nights. Eg; western

Hawaiian

White

70's

80's

ETC

Anyone have an idea what I can expect on a 10 night cruise from sydney to Tasmania?

If it helps, our cruise leaves sydney on feb 7th.

I like to plan ahead. And don't want to pack things we won't use. However I really want to participate in all the fun theme nights.

I just spoke to my travel agent in sydney. She told me,

"Rhapsody of the seas will be leaving for good at the end of 2015, voyager of the seas will be replacing her"

Any other info for 1st time cruisers - Would be great.

 

Sorry I forgot to add the following tips find your "Roll Call" and get to know your fellow cruisers - those that will be on your cruise that is, join the "Meet and Mingle" so once on-board you can meet them face to face.:D

 

Once you find your way around the ship find the Crown and Anchor Society (C&A) desk and join, for free, and get some benefits when you travel next with RCI.:)

 

And enjoy the experience, don't forget somethings may happen like weather etc :eek: take it all in your stride and enjoy.

Being an Aussie, I know all to well how our weather changes in an instant!

I will be mainly packing dress's, because it's still quite warm at this time of year. But I will take a few warmish outfits incase.

I am really looking forward to formal nights the most, because we never have a chance to dress up!

Hubby has a black suit, and I have gone and purchased him a really smart tie and matching hanky for that, in black and white check.

I am wearing a cocktail dress in black and white with pretty diamonds on it.

And bling accessories!

I hope that it doesn't fade out, because I also think the tradition of it all is some what fabulous!

I've seen a few threads about unlimited photo packages, however I can't seem to find the answer I'm after.

I am wanting to know, what is the cost for a 10 day cruise, on rhapsody. To get the unlimited photo package.
