                     Day 2:  Sea Day

                     Day 3:  Sea Day

                     Day 4:  Aruba

                     Day 5:  Bonaire

                     Day 6:  La Romana

                     Day 7:  Amber Cove

                     Day 8: Sea Day

Question is what 2 days are the formal nights?  Ive read conflicting days...

    Thanks in advance!!

Hope we get to sail by then😕

I just came back off the Horizon..Feb 22nd to Mar 1st.

(the last true cruise before all this started)

I wore my Tux on Sun. night and Fri Night.. hope this helps

    🙂 Chris

  2. Have done this run 3 times.. twice on the Fascination...sorry, won't do it again till they replace the "love boat"

sailing on the Horizon next week.....WHOLE different class of cruising... I do think the southern run is the best run of all, but as stated a few threads up... booked on RC for Feb '21...at least it's a newer ship...Carnival has new ships coming in each year...lets see what '22 brings...but in the end, if your in the Caribbean... it's ALL GOOD!

Your only other bet is to look at the Carnival (and maybe HAL or Princess if you are on one of their ships) excursion to a private beach house.  The place is in Cockburntown and they have had various water activities offered.  We've drive by the site and you can see a lot of different things.  It is possible that there are regulations against the type of boat used in parasailing due to the national marine park that surrounds Grand Turk.  But given there are jet skis, banana boats and larger fishing boats, I don't know why that would be.  Most likely not enough people doing para sailing to make a go at the enterprise.

tks..am on Carnival..other option will be in Aruba..just thought it would be cool to do it their.. you can probably see the whole Island..lol

  4. By chance, is there any para-sailing in that area..asked before on here, was given a name, but it turned out closed,

DW and I will be heading there in Feb. want to spend some time there.. and then head down to Governors

    tks

  5. I am also getting into the Island later in the day in Feb...

If I head to a beach, by the time I get there, where ever "there" is, it will be around 2:30...

if I spend several hours there, by the time I get back to the Ship..what should/can I do after that..

Walk across the bridge? would like to see the night side of town...any suggestions

    Totally agree with jasonfromohio!

We did exactly the same thing...we went to Palm Beach...the next stop after Eagle's Beach.

Note: Just a thought...the cruise terminal in Aruba was lined with vendors/sellers offering taxis to the beach and/or "Around the Island" tours...most passengers are not aware of the local bus or too apprehensive to use it...perhaps fear of not getting back on time to the ship.

For those wanting to DIY, we agree with jasonfromohio, it can't be any easier to get to the beach in Aruba.

For bus tickets, there's a ticket booth located next to the bus stop.  There's a person inside that will sell you the tickets and answer any of your questions.  Buses also return every 20 minutes.  Remember, you can only use the "bus ticket" on buses called "Arubus". 😊

Where did you end up at on Palm Beach..and did you have access to free chairs/etc.. thanks..want to go to this beach to para-sail in Feb.  hearing Umbrella's are $40!  would appreciate your input.. tks

  7. I have been there several times.. suggest you use Rose and Jim Taxi service..they are very reasonable, locals for all their lives..I believe they will take you to where ever you want to go..

  8. Very specific question.. in the past 2 years since Carnival has had check in literally at the baggage claim..

Can I check in there as usual, and then instead of using their bus.. jump into a Lyft ride to the Miami Port..and walk on, just like you do when you take their bus...

from Ft Lauderdale Carnival wants $30 pp to and $30 back pp.. Lyft is roughly $40-$50 one way for two...I see the lines of all the people who came in the night before... and are sitting outside the terminal..waiting... its crazy..  tks

  9. just reflecting.... there was a time less than 10 yrs ago... this wasn't even a discussion..

people dressed up for night time socializing on the ship..now it's the "Fun" ships..

like it or not...Formal night... joke...DW and I still get dressed.. enjoy seeing Her all beautiful..

Chair hogs have a special place in......Merry Christmas All!

There used to be a parasail boat operating out of Grand Turk Watersports in Cockburntown.  I think they didn't reopen after the hurricane.

I have heard that Viator offers a parasail excursion.  No idea of cost or reviews.  But go out to https://www.viator.com/Grand-Turk/d968-ttd and see if that's true.  Viator acts as the middleman between small local vendors and cruise passengers.

THKS....checked out the site.. nope... not through them.

just surprised that no one else has anyone to rec'md..

is there no parasailing happening there..lol

  11. see nothing I want to do through Carnival while visiting DR for the day in Feb.

so thought I would just head to a beach..

looking at Playa Juan Dolio, Playa Guayacanes, Playa Macao, or Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana

see NOTHING on here about anyone going anywhere other than Punta Cana..

to do anything!.. have to now assume there is a reason....can anyone inform me about any of these Beaches

should I go? dont want to have any issues.. on VACA.. tks

  12. I also am interested in getting off the boat... and finding a nice local beach..

not finding much to do here through Carnival as far as tours....

need a beach I can tell a cab driver to take me to..like to snorkel..

but understand most beaches are not lucky enough to have a reef

open to your suggestions...better than what I have now.. lol
