as long as you booked before March 1st all you have to do is prepay before you get on the ship to pay the "old" price. I have confirmed three times with NCL that.
Example. If you booked before March 1st a cruise for October and prepay the DSC on September 30th then you pay the $12 pp per day and not the new price. But if you do not prepay before boarding on the ship you will be charged the new rates. As I said I personally have confirmed this with NCL and so has my sister in law. If you book after March 1st then no matter what you pay the new rate.
So people are making a big deal out of nothing.
Are you sure, just booked another sailing today and the the confirmation letter has the new DSC rates so it has begun early

Well that is a game changer, looks like I will pre pay today if it won't be going to the additional staff in the suites, I will just tip as per usual and save $63

Welcome to the "suite life" it truly changes most people's enjoyment of a cruise

Thank you a search did not yield that thread

Outside of saving a few dollars, is it right to prepay these? Will it not short those who will now benefit from the small increase such as butlers and concierge?

Mid September had Rain wind and sun, temperature was fine on all days, glacier bay was the warmest we had

All latitudes members receive pins in their stateroom upon arrival, sometimes you may not get one and its just a simple matter of asking

We would book something closer but unfortunately all our vacation time is booked up until then so no choice but to wait, at least we will have a very good understanding of what we want for this cruise when it finally gets time to go, often time we book to close to really dive into research and end up missing something we would have enjoyed

785 Days and counting!!!! Seems so close :/

If you can afford the 800 do it!!

So you get a suite and book an adjoining cabin to put your two kids in. You arrive at the port, and they are required to check in separately from you? I don't think so.
Fwiw, I took my elderly father on the spirit. Myself and DW in a suite, he in adjoining balcony. He was with us through the whole boarding process. Most mornings we had breakfast in the suite, and he enjoyed the full benefit of that experience.
Things may have changed, but the whole point of an adjoining cabin is/was to keep a family together, with a bit of privacy.
As per ncl, unless your kids are old enough one of the parents would have to be attached to the second non suite room, therefore losing the suite perks at least on paper

My guess would be they will not be able to join you in the priority lounge, but after you are checked in you are more than welcome to wait with them in the standard embarkation area, granted it doesn't hurt to ask in the vip lounge

Love the size of the deck, thanks for sharing, I have some tough decisions to make now

I see the value of these reviews as first hand experience of those who have been and seen, readers can extract what's important to them and possibly use the information to make decisions on what to do or see ect

No rush, your photos may speed up my decision on hawaii or bahamas

First Cruise was in 2011 freshly married on a 12 day Mediterranean Cruise, balcony cabin and lots of sea days to do what young married people do. Met some really great people that we still talk to on a regular basis. Been on 2 more since then, to hawaii and alaska, planning out or next adventure now

The sun was our first alaska ship, looking forward to to going again, ship may have a few little flaws but only to those who look for them

All this talk about the Sun and lavazza is killing me, sailed the second to last alaska trip last year in the owners suite,1003, been pondering buying my own lavazza machine since

The purpose of a vacation is too have more fun than at home😆

We have been on other NCL ships with less than the jewel in terms of kids activities, and our 2 year old never ran out of new things to do and try, I understand the jewel has much more to offer than say the Sun, I'm sure you will have fun no matter which ship you choose but I vote for NCL

The bathrooms in the mini suites are slightly better than a balcony
