  1. as long as you booked before March 1st all you have to do is prepay before you get on the ship to pay the "old" price. I have confirmed three times with NCL that.

Example. If you booked before March 1st a cruise for October and prepay the DSC on September 30th then you pay the $12 pp per day and not the new price. But if you do not prepay before boarding on the ship you will be charged the new rates. As I said I personally have confirmed this with NCL and so has my sister in law. If you book after March 1st then no matter what you pay the new rate.

So people are making a big deal out of nothing.

Are you sure, just booked another sailing today and the the confirmation letter has the new DSC rates so it has begun early

  2. We would book something closer but unfortunately all our vacation time is booked up until then so no choice but to wait, at least we will have a very good understanding of what we want for this cruise when it finally gets time to go, often time we book to close to really dive into research and end up missing something we would have enjoyed

  3. So you get a suite and book an adjoining cabin to put your two kids in. You arrive at the port, and they are required to check in separately from you? I don't think so.

Fwiw, I took my elderly father on the spirit. Myself and DW in a suite, he in adjoining balcony. He was with us through the whole boarding process. Most mornings we had breakfast in the suite, and he enjoyed the full benefit of that experience.

Things may have changed, but the whole point of an adjoining cabin is/was to keep a family together, with a bit of privacy.

As per ncl, unless your kids are old enough one of the parents would have to be attached to the second non suite room, therefore losing the suite perks at least on paper

  4. First Cruise was in 2011 freshly married on a 12 day Mediterranean Cruise, balcony cabin and lots of sea days to do what young married people do. Met some really great people that we still talk to on a regular basis. Been on 2 more since then, to hawaii and alaska, planning out or next adventure now
