  1. I didn't read all 11 pages but people who are fast-tracked are not supposed to tell anyone that they are fast tracks for reasons just like this. And it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Casino money spent. Someone I know that was fast-tracked always sails in a suite and also purchased 4 Separate interior rooms on a cruise so they basically boughtt 6 cruises on one Voyage. Two which were the suite which would count as double. So even though it may seem like they got a bargain. Overall it was like they bought 16 cruises since they started sailing with them. Sailng in the suite is called Elite the easy way.

  2. Last time we went to Alaska we had sunny weather every single day... we were so lucky. So far it is looking like we could have rain every single day. I'm just curious if we should be concerned that any of our excursions are going to be canceled?

I know rain is an everyday part of life and Alaska, I'm not complaining about the rain, that's not what I'm saying.

Just wondering if I should do some research on backup excursions so that I can jump on them quickly if mine are canceled.

Skagway,we are doing the Wildlife Reserve, and Ketchikan we are doing the adventure Kart, at Mount McKinley Lodge we are doing the glacier Float Trip, not the white water rafting one. And at Denali Lodge we are doing evening ATV Adventure.

Just to be clear I'm not complaining about the rain.

  3. I have used the ReliefBand and was VERY SURPRISED at how well it works. I don't care if it is hokus pokus or mumbo gumbo. It worked for me and I am usually the first one down and out when the ship starts rocking.

A really nice feature is that you can put it on after the nausea starts and it will stop it in it's tracks. I didn't believe it the first time.

It has been used for pregnant women and morning sickness and for test pilots. It is worth the price tag IMO.

Great to hear. I looked up a lot of reviews all the way across the internet and 99% of them were positive. Stopping nausea after it starts is a big deal. Sea bands work better when you're wearing them before you could get nauseous so this is awesome. Granted I wear my sea bands all the time.

  4. Navybankerteacher, it's time for YOU to give up. You will never convince me it's okay to dump your money into a corporation that knowingly deceives people. Are seaband marketed as placebo bracelets? No, they are not, they are marketed as acupressure bracelets that perform a specific function in taking seasickness away. The fact that the placebo effect makes them work a little bit is, frankly, irrelevant, because the point is that I am recommending someone against giving money to a scam company. THE FACT THAT IT IS A SCAM IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM. This is not an issue of me not understanding placebos, it's an issue of me giving someone a heads up that they might be buying into a company that knowingly and deliberately misleads its consumers. You will never convince me it's okay to scam people and you are completely missing the point by only reading what you want to read, so just drop it already.

See...again... claiming this is a scam Corporation is the kind of statement that can convince people not to try them. So like I said earlier, people who could be helped by these may miss out. And they're like $7, it's not like people are giving them $200 for a pair of cloth wristbands.

  5. I'm sorry but there's an important distinction here. Seabands do not work. The placebo effect works—a little. It doesn't work as much as actual seasickness medication, and many people who claim to see results from Seabands are also missing the fact that seasickness naturally gets better as time goes on and you adjust to being on a ship.

Uh huh... I'm 38 years old and I'm definitely adjusted to be in the car. And the things work. And believe me I have been greatly affected by motion sickness over my life, which I won't even get into because you clearly don't understand what it's like to be so Afflicted. And I would give anything to be able to convince my brain with anything like a placebo effect that I no longer have it. But that is just not the case. And as the person before me said, no one is asking you to recommend them.

Your point has been made, and I feel like you are going on about it so much that people who could be helped by the Sea bands are not going to try them now and they're going to miss out on a very affordable, non-chemical way to feel better.

  6. I have participated in hundreds of power strip threads since joining CC. Basically, any time I see "power strip" or "surge protector" in a thread title, I will look at the thread and jump in if I feel necessary. I have never flamed anyone for using the Belkin, or any surge protector, and I haven't seen anyone get flamed in the threads I've looked at. I try to present the reasons why these should not be used, in a logical manner. Many folks say they use the Belkin, and I consistently tell them not to, and why. Whether or not your unit has been confiscated, now that you realize it is a safety hazard (hopefully you have read this thread, and even others about power strips where the dangers are mentioned), you won't bring it onboard. As I've said, it can be in perfect condition, and a ground fault at the other end of the ship can cause your perfect surge protector to fail and burn.

I didn't read this thread. I got a extension cord after being treated so bad on fb. Left it in the package. I never even noticed the belkin was a surge. I'm done. My luck, it will still get confiscated.

  7. My mom bought me Sea bands when i was just about 11. They worked. I was 11 and didn't even know what the word placebo was. I still use them on a regular basis to even go 30 min to the next town over when my husband drives. If I'm feeling queasy on a long trip I'll often look down and notice one of my bands have slipped or twisted.

Back to the actual topic, I bought a relief band for my cruise in 2 weeks. I'm excited to try it.

I got absolutely FLAMED on fb for posting that i use this exact thing..... even though that's what everyone on cruise critic told me to buy. I even got blocked from the group for being upset at how rude people were telling me it was not allowed. It's never bern confiscated and CC ppl told me it's what they use. So good luck in a piwer strip thread...

  9. It sounds like your ink jet color cartridge is low or clogged. I went through the same thing for years & finally bought a B&W laser printer & have never regretted it. No more ink to dry out for lack of use and the laser cartridge lasts forever. :)

As others have mentioned, there's no need for color on the boarding passes.

Both my colors and black aren't working. I've recharged, cleaned, realigned etc. I'm so sick of printers. Anf it's constantly dropping the wifi. Then in a time like this it doesn't work. I also wanted to print directions from vancouver to seattle.

  10. You can trade the mini bar for a bottle of wine or 2 coffee cards per mini bar set up. So since you have 2 mini bars you can trade one or both in.

I might run it by DH. We trade all the mini bottles in for gin and vodka and then we use the ones we bring home for stocking stuffers or when we travel. But he might be willing to sacrifice the whole set for a bottle of wine at dinner which I inevitably will purchase. I just wish we could trade in all the sodas and water from 2 whole setups for something, doesn't have to be alcoholic. Like a full case of water that we pre-purchased. That would be cool. Oh well. I think it's amazing that this is a perk of a suite and Elite. And I'm thrilled to have even one.

  11. Thanks everyone. That's a huge relief. We are Elite but our boarding passes are yellow. Weird. I'm at the point where I'm ready to throw all of my electronic devices in the garbage. It was an awful lot of hassle for me this morning to end up with no boarding passes printed. Thanks for your help!

  12. I've never had a problem printing things for my cruises in the past. However right now my printer is on the fritz and I'm trying to send it to Kinko's through my mobile device and nothing is working out. I can print from work but it will only be black and white how important is the color on the boarding pass? Is it always yellow? I've never paid attention.

  13. On my last couple of cruises, they only had one setup in the room at embarkation. I called Room Service and they provided the second setup with no problem.

They said it was easier that way because many people request trades. By waiting to be called for the second setup, they didn't have to deliver it first and then trade it out. When I called, I told them exactly what I wanted for the second setup. No problem.

It's not useful to talk with Captain's Circle, Passenger Services, or your room steward. Just call Room Service and tell them what you want.

That makes sense, I would hate to have to do the same job twice if I was room service. And for the record, once again, I did not ask my room Steward to do it. I simply asked him where to go.

  14. FWIW........Stewart has nothing to do with it. He/She has enough to do already.

If it's not in the cabin then I would call room service first and if they don't have an order then see the CC host.

I know he has nothing to do with it. We asked him who we should contact. I didn't say we asked him to do it. In the past when we've traded it out we've always called room service to do that but receiving one to me was not the same as trading one out.

  15. Thanks. I think our room Steward is the one that told us to go to Captain's Circle about the extra set up. That does make sense about the set up coming later on a longer Cruise but they should really leave a note to let you know just to avoid that whole situation. I'm tempted to let them know we don't need any of the sodas if we do have to call down to receive the extra one. My husband drinks about one Sprite a year. We will take the water though! I wish we could trade all of the sodas and Waters in for something.

  16. Hi. I'm curious if seasoned Elite members could let me know if the extra mini bar setup that you receive for being Elite in a suite, will it already be in your stateroom when you arrive or do you have to contact room service or captains Circle? On our last cruise we had to go to the captain's Circle desk and the woman argued with us about the number of nights and then we told her we would check on that with someone else. A few hours later we got back to our room and we had the extra mini bar setup. Is that how it's always going to be? That was six nights. This is seven nights.

  17. I'm really surprised to see several people saying it was just cheese and crackers. We have been going on every cruise and it is always been exactly what was listed, the shrimp cocktail or the steak tartare or the guacamole. EtC. And I personally really enjoy it. I find it very relaxing instead of going straight from our room to dinner and especially when it's in Skywalker's you get that beautiful view while you relax. My husband isn't the biggest fan but I enjoy it. On the coral on her first cruise after Dry Dock last year it was terrible. They had us smashed into a corner of one of the lounges and there was never enough seating and it was never enough food or plates. And that was happening almost every night. After a few days my husband convinced me not to go anymore. Other that we had never seen an issue. I'm partial to these parties because that's where I first had a brezza marina drink and I fell in love with it! I even searched the internet for a recipe and started making it at home.

  18. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm boarding the Explorer on Friday September 15th and was thinking about going down to Pike Place Market (staying at the Sheraton so I think it's just a straight walk) around 8:30am.

I've stayed at the sheraton, it was a easy commute. 830 will be nice. Don't waste time at that original starbucks, just take it's picture.

  19. The glass house is great, but the outdoor garden and the indoor exhibits are most of the collection and truly a great experience. You won't regret going anyway. Often they lower the admission if the glass house is closed for an event. Even if they didn't I would go. I've been twice and look forward to my next visit.

Exactly true! His traveling exhibit came to our Botanical Garden, which is the first time I had seen any of his work other than at the Bellagio when I was just blissfully unaware. It's absolutely worth going to the Seattle location. You will still see way more without the glass house then you would save it came to a city near you. I recommend it to every person that goes to Seattle! It's breathtaking.

  20. I have done the Underground Tour and I really enjoyed it. It didn't blow me away but technically you see things that there's no other way to see them. I've also seen this come across on Facebook as something really hidden that a lot of people don't know about, and I think it's neat to say I've done it. I've never done a ghost tour but always have wanted to. Don't they pretty much just walk the streets though? At least the Underground Tour you'll be seeing things that you can't see on your own.
