We feel that Celebrity is making new itineraries the usual route. 
We really want those special sailing on 10-20 days and it’s getting harder and harder to get a good one. 

We can see AZ, NCL offering routes we really would love to see on X. 
Think Asia, Africa, Northern Europe, Norway, Iceland, Greenland. 
 

We are from Norway and we find it very sad that you primarily focus on the 7-days sailings to the fjords. 
But the really good sailings are those sailing all the way up to North Cape. 
The scenery is completely different from the fjords. 
 

If you make a 14/16n ultimate Norwegian cruise, I would have sailed in my own country.

We have really tried to sail AZ💙 

the main reason we tried to book and did book AZ was the special itinerary’s. 
We had some really special sailings originally booked. 
So we are paying attention to their routes🤩 

We think we will get very satisfied on AZ when it comes to food and crew. 
We know that entertainment is different, but from what we understand and hear, we will probably be all good😊

 

If it goes well on AZ, we will probably book more if they have the correct itinerary for us😊

 

We feel that X needs to offer more of the special routes. We feel maybe a decline in the more special routes🤔🙄 

 

We go to the Caribbean just to get summer and sun. 
But if I can have it on a more special route to Mauritius 🇲🇺 or Madagascar 🇲🇬 or Seychelles 🇸🇨…. Count me in😂😂😎

I will bring my cousin on a 9-n Greek 🇬🇷 adventure 19-28. So what to do then🤔🤔🤔

 

I know one thing for certain… we will not stay at the hotel we used this time. 

Hotel itself was great, big room, good bathrooms, service minded staff and nice breakfast. 

So what was wrong? 🙄

The neighbourhood. 

It’s on a really heavy drug street/area… so visible used signs of drugs and other things…. And drug addicts outside on the street visibly preparing their drugs😬😑

 

On the cruise it will be more sightseeing for me and bravo 🙌🏻 two new port of call. 

Kavala and Nafplio. 

Looking forward for them🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷

 

So another round on Infinity⚓️ (yep, remember to vacuum and deep clean the red carpet before I arrive😂😂😂) 

 

Then it’s something I really looking forward to⚓️💙 We haven’t sailed on Milli since 2017, just before she went to the big dry dock. 

A Asian cruise again! 

Singapore to Bali😎 My favourite place, south east Asia🙌🏻 

It’s a Christmas/NY sailing, so that will be a first time experience for us. 

We go on the flow of having a good time and just enjoy the warm weather (compared to snow and ice in Norway 🇳🇴) 

 

Then it’s getting a bit more spicy😂🤔😅😜

We have a NCL Greenland 🇬🇱 & Iceland 🇮🇸 cruise booked…. And I will be celebrating my birthday onboard a cruise😅🥂🥰 ( the reason is lack of X option and we just want to try something different, NCL small vessel) Who knows… we might enjoy it? Then a world of new itinerary’s will be available for us😜

 

After that…. I’m going back to Greece 🇬🇷 Yep, you see a pattern here….

Then it’s time for the Queen. 

She is turning a round jubilee🥂🇳🇴🥂

So me and her… and a entourage of some ladies will sail on Azamara Pursuite⚓️💙 

Who new it would be me and the Queen to sail them😬🙄😆😅 Mr & I did a few attempts before she left the royal family😅😅😅😅

 

It’s Greek 🇬🇷 islands 7-n. 

I really looking forward to it, the Queen are already on countdown😜😅😆😂

Though, I have some bittersweet feelings about it….

But on the other hand I’m a bit 🤔 Why should we try…. They kicked me off not once, twice or three times ✖️ but 5 times due to redeployment and Covid cancellation… and to top it off, I didn’t manage to get my loyalty, since I didn’t get to sail before a date after the exit from the royal family🙄✖️🙄 

So I’m not angry or annoyed, but will they now sail as planned???? 

Everyone who regularly sails/sailed AZ in the royal family loves/loved it. 

So I think from my needs and perspective I will be very happy onboard⚓️🥂

Then I run home as fast as possible, changing clothes, pick up Mr and leave for an adventure! 

An this adventure has already started to move⚓️😂😜

 

We are celebrating 15 years as Mr & Mrs JA in October 2025. (We have now been a couple for 17years ) 

So we need to celebrate in style🥂

So why not a Galapagos celebration 🎉 

 

I booked Xpedition, a tropical small cruise ship🥰🙌🏻⚓️

It was what I wanted and it was very tempting to try a intimate experience of very few guests, like a private yacht😜

 

OH lala…. I almost choked when I saw the news about the sale of Galapagos ships….

My coffee went down the wrong way and I almost had to ask the cats 🐈‍⬛ for heimlich 😱😱😱

 

After a few hours I received an email from the Galapagos desk. It gave us 2 options. 

1. Sail before they leave the fleet 
2. Move to Flora, it would be same week or one before or after…

 

I sent a email asap and asked to be moved to Flora and that we keep the same date, since we specifically booked this cruise to celebrate our 15 years wedding anniversary on the date on Galapagos….

If they couldn’t accommodate this, they needed to contact me asap. 

 

I was patiently waiting for the response…. 

Hallelujah, they reported back to me after a few days. 

Our cruise is moved to Flora. 

They have put us in an infinity room. 

We had booked a suite on Xpedition. 

 

According to their system, that means that we are rebooked to Flora in the cabin over entry level. 

I need to watch some YouTube videos😅

I know Flora is all suite class. 

So it will be interesting to see…. 

 

It seems like 2025 will be a busy year😜😆🥰⚓️

 

For 2026 Easter 🐣 we have a b2b ⚓️ booked on Xcel💙 new ship…. We tried Edge when she was new, so it’s time to test something new and adjusted for design errors😜 

 

What will happen after that, we don’t know yet… 

It depends on how we feel about NCL and AZ. 

 

What I do know, is that I want some out of the box sailings. I’m wishing for some good Asian sailings (think 14-20.n) and longer Alaska sailings (7-n round trip is too short when you travel from 🇳🇴 ) preferably 12-16.n. 

 

AND 

 

We have to decide if we want to take nephew number 2, Marius on a cruise in 2026 after he has his confirmation party in May or wait a year as we did with Maximus….🤔🤔🤔🤔😎⚓️😜😅

Big decisions😅😅😅 (something tells me that auntie needs to see what options she has on the table….😂 even if it’s Marius gift, the paying part needs to enjoy the sailing…😜) Mr has already suggested Bermuda 7-n from NY. 

I on the other side, think it’s better to stay in Europe. (But I’m more than willing to sail Bermuda again😎) 

Finally 

 

So…. 

As anyone knows…. I’m a happy camper on X. It fits my olden Goldie vibe😅 

Specially on Milli class💙⚓️💙

 

Did we have a good time: YES

Was Maximus satisfied: YES

Did the food deliver: YES

Was port of calls good: YES

Did the weather cooperate: YES

Did the crew deliver a 10/10 service: YES

Did we book another cruise onboard: NO

 

Do we have any complaints or suggestions for what to adjust: NO/YES (but it’s nothing to ruin my holiday or anything, it’s a touch of sailing often😅😆😜 I’m allowed to be a little bit more open about what I don’t like😜) 

 

Suggestions (we don’t have any complaints…. Really it’s just more of a suggestion for the CD) 

So I haven’t sailed CD Kelly Rose before, she is from Melbourne, AUS. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Mr was maybe not sold on her😝😅

I will not judge or doom her down, but she needs to take the “room” more. 

 

The move to prioritise a port talk in the theatre over a 19.00 show on first night, the night you sort of put the standard for what’s coming up…. 

That was a big NO for me and us. 

It was a comedy show at 21.00 but that’s when I eat my starter! 

 

So then it was a evening of nothing special to “set the stage of entertainment” 

And it was a rather unusual night. 

 

The grand foyer was only used for a pop-up preforming last night of the cruise. 

And on the last night it was a big bang of events that should have taken place earlier in the cruise. 

CD Brittany from Canada 🇨🇦 used Grand Foyer every night at our b2b last mai/june and it was a great experience every time. 

 

In May, CD Ernesto had a much better flow of activity and used the grand foyer more actively. 

 

My tip of advice, use the grand foyer actively in the timeframe 20.00-30 as Brittany and Ernest…. 

 

On heavy Mediterranean cruise/ port intensive, people don’t stay up until late… So you need to entertain them before they go to bed early😝😴😴😴 

 

Fingers crossed it was a one time exception🫣

 

Music around the ship is going on every evening and in different places. 

It was a change of musicians when I left the ship in May. 

Some for the better and some for the worse (for my taste) 

The orchestra delivered great backing to the production shows and guests. 

 

Crew onboard are fantastic💙⚓️💙

They are really great and deserve their salary and tips💙

 

MDR team of Andy, Wael, Pio and Maria is 👌🏻🥰🥂

Housekeeper Sheldon has served us 24/7 making sure everything is good and cleaned up our towel bonanza every evening after a beach break and shower… that’s a decent load of towels waiting for him😝😅

Sofa bed has worked out well for us. It’s only limited space during night time, the rest of the day it’s a sofa and “normal” space available. (Kudos for Sheldon who flipped this daily💙👌🏻) 

But that doesn’t mean that my mother in-law will be accepted to stay in our cabin for a week or two😅😝😜😆

 

The magic gang in Al Bacio has once again delivered an demonstrated piece of excellent performance and service💙👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Maria, Yulia, Thailand 🇹🇭 and Peru 🇵🇪 has given us a great service and we really appreciate it and love it here💙👌🏻

Our guys in the theatre bar service deck 4 has once again shined like a diamond 💎💙 ( yes they new on the second I showed up what I wanted😅😝💙) 

 

Mix and offers in the buffet has not disappointed. It has rotated and has something for everyone👌🏻💙 Mr & M loves the options available😋😋😋

Tables available has never become a problem. It has always worked out for us. 

And plates and cups are always collected quickly. 

Dinner in MDR has tasted good to great, food has arrived warm and freshly. 

So really nothing to complain/send out the back door there. 

Senior officers have walked around everywhere. Very visible. 

 

Teen Club

We have no clue about it before this sailing. We know they have the opportunity onboard, but we haven’t tested it😜😆😝

Maximus was very happy for the evening events and the fact that he could meet other people in the club was very nice 👌🏻 

It was a group of 5/6 guys in the same age group and they connected great😎💙👌🏻

Auntie received a snap of 6 guys in the whirlpool during a evening show😎👌🏻 and a very happy face of all😎  M was just Messaging that today he was eating pizza with his friends and teens club party😅😎👌🏻💙 So if you have a social teenager and the combo onboard fits, you will probably not see you kids😜😆😅 

Maximus really enjoyed the offerings on the evening programme and the employees connected to X Club. 

So that’s really nice to hear and see from him👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

 

Would I stayed another week? YES

Just us in biz tonight. (Probably some lost connections due to the thunderstorm 🌩️)

 

It’s a cold evening menu tonight. 

A German fish platter. 

 

Accompanied by drinks and coffee. 

Crew was super friendly and very attentive. 

M was treated as a king 👑  (he’s in Big trouble when he needs to go back to reality😂) 

 

LH can definitely deliver on service when the right person is on duty. Tonight’s purser was one of those…. 💛

we said that there’s a Teens Club onboard to M. 
we, me & mr are not allowed inside. So we don’t have a clue what they have or offer… 

But we know they have Xbox and other activities. 
So I think it’s a good idea for you and uncle to just go by on the first day. Just so you can see where they are located and have a look inside. 
If you want to visit later or attend some of the activities, you decide😎

We will not demand you to visit or attend any events. 
But I can promise that there are other teens there and probably some fun activities during our cruise👍🏻

And then he said by himself that he wanted to check in on an activity later to try….

Come on, the kid needs to test a teaser of biz life🤩🥂 (you know it’s the pleasure of auntie & uncle to make memories😜🥰) 

And after a cruise 🚢 we just enjoy it to the maximum😅😎🥂🍓  (before reality kicks in again😆) 

 

LH Europe flights are not as a long haul flight… no lie flat beds. 

But it’s empty middle seat, serving on porcelain and a few drops of the real deal😅😉 and it’s fun for him to have tried it out😎😎😎

 

Our flight to München is on a fully booked A319-100. 

 

Biz row 1-3, rest economy. 

Middle seat is empty in biz. 

 

Biz was downsized due to cancellation of a BA flight earlier in the day. Originally 8 rows. 

So a lot of passengers were rebooked to our flight and onward to LHR. And they changed the configuration of seats biz/eco to accommodate more passengers. 

 

Seats on the A319 do not have usb/charging ports in the seats or under the seat 💺 Shame on you LH, get it updated😝

When we descended it was pouring down rain and it was some lightning ⚡️ 

 

So now we have just arrived at the LH lounge. 

The boys went for pretzels 🥨 and aunt is on the way to see if we will have a 

Delay home to OSL…..

We walked over to the metro station. 

The blue line takes you directly to the airport. 

Tickets are 9€ each. 

 

We took the 09.45 metro 🚈 

It’s room on the metro for luggage🧳 

 

M was gaming on his phone on the way to the airport📲

It’s no phone/5g coverage on the metro before the last stops before the airport. 

 

Metro arrived on the airport 10.55. 

 

We walked from the station to LH check in. 

No line for LH/biz+star G. 

 

Then we went straight through the fast line security. So very quick and easy. 

 

We have just arrived the LH lounge. 

It has a Greek 🇬🇷 and German 🇩🇪 menu. 

Coffee, drinks, food and sweets.

Beetroot salad was perfect 👌🏻 

The chicken smelled amazing and Mr said it was super good, spicy and delicious 🤤 

I had pasta bolognaise in May and it was very tasty and delicious 😋 

This time it was a new chef🙄🤭

Lots of tomato sauce and not the really good sauce from last time…. 

Oh well, one “a little off” dish of all things served🤭🤪😅👌🏻 

 

Dessert 

 

Tonight it was cheesecake👌🏻

The European version😋🤩

It’s really delicious and the sauce is real strawberry 🍓 

 

Chef supreme was Grand Marnier soufflé🤩

Mr was very happy 😊 

 

Andy & Wael has done a fantastic job. 

Maria, beverage is a “old” friend from earlier cruises. Love ❤️ to see her onboard. And she has taken supreme care of M and his request for sodas. 

Andy has facilitated Maximus requests for rapid rapid dinners when needed and they have done a fantastic service for us. 

Pio has made sure Mr has red wine 🍷 for dinner and everything else he wants.

The entertainment in grand foyer has not delivered. House band is okay/good. 

But it’s not as the guest entertainment has had a pop up preforming…

Sempra did a pop-up show👌🏻 Yep, that raised the room to the level we were waiting for…. 

 

And the “diva” from yesterday was having a pop-up in Constellation lounge at 22.00.

Hey??? She would be perfect in Grand Foyer🙄

And to make it even more difficult to understand her plans, they had the magic guy upstairs doing close-up-magic on deck 11. 

So your plan is to have everything on last night? Seriously🙄🙄🙄🙄 

 

Mr said while we waited between show and dinner…. CD Kelly Rose is a bit “slow” she has a million years of talking after each show and she doesn’t put fire 🔥 on the night🤭

I think I might agree on that one ☝🏿 

 

If she thinks it’s a wise decision and choice to have one show at 21.00 on first night and the 19.00 show as a port-talk, that’s her decision….. I’m really not happy about it….. she goes on thin ice 🧊 with us already😂😂😂😂

They have had the desk outside the buffet for specialty dinner. 
But no, I mean no upselling or push on specialty dining.

what we have seen is that Sushi on 5 had some really busy nights.

Hydra is a tender port. 

Think French Riviera in Greece 🇬🇷 

We had breakfast in OV on the terrace. 

 

It was not crowded around 08.45. 

 

We walked downstairs to a tender at 09.30. No waiting and it was running smoothly. (We have priority from Captains Club and Concierge cabin) 

 

Lovely little village, no cars. Only horses and donkeys 🫏 for transportation. 

 

 

 

 

 

Several restaurants and shops. 

It’s water taxis to the beaches if you don’t want to walk. 

 

We walked to the beach, the first is around 20 minutes away. We decided that the next would probably be better. 

10 more minutes, a beautiful view and a beautiful beach bay😎

Its chairs and umbrellas for rent. 

it’s also a restaurant on site.

Temperature was great and we were happy campers😎🇬🇷😎

We had a stroll in town, found a grocery store and had an ice cream on the go. 

 

At 14.45 we walked straight into a tender and was back onboard in 5” 

 

Then it was a late lunch in the buffet😌

It was French 🇫🇷 as the theme.

Invitation on the bed for Mixology 

 

As some mentioned, it was not super crowded on the captain’s club event. And they only had Welcome Party, not the senior party. 
It’s extremely many families onboard. Lots of germane, French, Spanish and other languages onboard. So I think the number of captains club guests are lower than usual. 
 

It’s several lager families and the average age are lower than normal. 
it’s also many 🌟 on cards around here😉
