  1. Maybe I need to clarify.

Does the Matre D still provide an opportunity on embarkation day in one of the dining rooms to check, verify or change table assignments?

According to another post in another thread, the Golden has done away with this.

There is no longer information in the Patter of where to meet in the afternoon to speak with the Matre d', because the new policy is he meets you at the entrance at 5:30 pm at the dining room.

Sorry for any confusion in my original post. Any knowledge would be helpful.

  2. Saw this in another thread:

Is this correct? The MD no longer sets up one of the dining rooms on embarkation day?

My wife and I always pop in to "verify" our Traditional late seating table for two. Some times it is correct other times the MD made adjustments. I can see a big problem if everyone is at the dining room at 5:30 to check on table assignments.

Someone, if possible, please confirm that this is a new policy fleet wide.

  3. When we arrived in our cabin there were no robes. We asked our steward where they were. He said "They won't fit you".

Couldn't tell if he was being helpful or hurtful. We said bring them anyway. And yes they didn't fit but its something we look forward to if just to laugh at ourselves.

And they come in handy when opening the door for room service.

The only thing we were a little disappointed in with the two short B2B's was that they repeated the menu in the MDR. I thought they might have just continued on with a string of different menu's, but they started over again. We go to re-visit some things we enjoyed a few days before, and tried some things we wished we had of the first time around. Still wished it was a different menu for the last half.

Remember, your cruise was a B2B. Not one 9 day cruise with two halves. So what you saw was a menu that is served on each voyage. A person taking the 5 day cruise would not be aware that the 4 day cruise had the same menu.

In looking at your upcoming trips your first 10 day cruise will have 10 menus. The second 10 day cruise will most likely have the same 10 menus. Although there are situations when this isn't always the case.

That said, on our B2B, the first voyages menu served as a preview to the second. Eat the items you loved from the first, or avoid items you didn't care for, etc.

  5. I started what I thought was a new question about alcohol and 5 days/b2b, but it might have been answered. Apparently they are offering the package on the 5 day ruby this week. That means on a b2b with two 5 day cruises it should be available, no?

  6. Now that it seems that Princess is rolling out their Alcohol Package to the majority of the fleet, here's a question I haven't seen addressed:

The program states it will be offered on cruises longer than 7 days. So if we booked a B2B of two 5 days cruises, do you think we would be able to get the package?

My first thought is "Probably not as they would not be set up for such a package". What do ya'll think? Possible? Will it be an issue in the future?

By the way, with beer, nightly Platinum/Elite reception drinks, sodas, cocoa and some fruo-fruo cocktails - we'd definitely see a value.

    Thanks.

  7. Thank you for all of your replies we have decided to go with liberty and are booked hurray ,.We are doing secret falls/tubing/shopping/Scotchies looks like a full day of fun ..price is good too.

Dramaqueenjan, that sounds exactly what we want. If you don't mind expanding, what are they charging and how many in your group? Thanks.

  8. Just back. Rented a twelve footer for half a day. The waves were so calm that we were past Waterlemon before we know it. Had to back track to snorkel. Getting in and out is a challenge. We brought a little rope ladder with us and it still takes a bit of muscle. Now that we've done it we'll try it again with some of the things we've learned, i.e the coastline, good spots to snorkel, how to get in and out, bring water, etc.
