Just ended my cruise on the Silhouette and was extremely disappointed. There was a LARGE special interest group on the ship taking up more than 50% of the cabins. Bars were blocked, pools were reserved...it was incredibly uncomfortable. If I had been given notice of a group this large being booked, I would have changed my ship/week. But because I was not able to do so, I had a miserable experience.
How was the rest of your experience (i.e. food, entertainment, etc.)?

Twice I've asked for dividers to be opened and they were.
I've read here on these boards that a divider has to remain closed if it is to be used as a firebreak. If there is a fire door between cabin #1 and cabin #2 out in the hallway, then the balcony divider between cabin #1 and #2 also has to remain closed. This is my understanding of it.
Interesting! I wonder how many firebreaks there are on each floor, and where those dividers are located.
-
But in your experience, do they typically allow the dividers to be folded back?

the Captain has final say
I'm a bit confused by this statement. Is every request given to the Captain? or do certain Captains have standing orders for his/her ship not to allow this?
-
I'm wondering, are you able to tip your stateroom attendant for specific acts, or must you wait until the end of the cruise? The specific scenario I'm wondering about is asking the attendant to open up the balcony dividers between the 5 rooms occupied by our group members. It seems this might be a highly physical, daunting task and would love to slip him/her a $20 if appropriate. :)

Just curious, for how long do guest entertainers usually stay on a ship?

Good information, we cruise on Silhouette in 2 weeks!
-
Seems like there isn't really a bad one, guess I can't go wrong!

This is, by far, one of the most helpful threads on the Celebrity Board. However, it has veered a little off topic as of late. It's hard enough to sort through the pages and pages of information. Any way we can restrict posts to those with actual information regarding officers, staff, and crew?

Wow, that voice will haunt me forever! :)

These price reductions come at a cost. Airfare and pre-cruise hotel prices are likely higher, preferred dining times and/or cabins might be full, and new bookings likely do not include a pick-your-perk/123 Go promotion. The cruise fare might be cheaper, but the ultimate cost of the trip might be more (and the ultimate benefit might be less).
If you're still feeling pig-sick, I can recommend a good veterinarian.

Don't miss the . . . poached fruit in the Aqua Spa Café
Sorry, I only eat legally obtained fruit.

Ours also went down after final booking, and we felt sheep-sick. But then we realized that obviously the price and perks were right for us at the time of booking, otherwise we wouldn't have purchased the trip. Do yourself a favor and never look at pricing once you have paid (unless you are hunting for a specific upgrade). Why concern yourself with what others are paying? Like other posters have said, things go on sale all the time to ensure inventory is cleared out. Cruises are no different.

It's just funny to see the question, "Is anybody having issues with the website?", when that has been one of the most talked about things on these boards for the past 2 or so weeks. So much so, that if just those words were posted, I would assume it was a joke.
I assume you have not been on these boards within the past few weeks? Please don't take offense to our finding humor in your post!

LOL, where have you been? So many posters jump to creating a new page without looking for the same question in recent posts.

Do people actually use the lawn? Do they ever have events or music on the lawn?
-
Sounds like the Cafe is the way to go! I'd bet that it gets very crowded once people realize it's the best place for coffee.
-
They have delicious coffee at Al Bacio but it is for a fee.
Can you get coffee from Al Bacio with the classic beverage package?
-
Not very good. Cafe al Bacio for $$$. No. ;)
That's disappointing! You'd hope with its reputation for great cuisine, Celebrity would have delicious coffee. Is it the brand they use that makes it bad?
-
How is the coffee? Where is the best place to get a good cup? Are you able to make it in your room?
-
At night, is there a place for drinks, music, and perhaps even some dancing?
-
Does Celebrity offer the usual Bingo and trivia games, similar to other cruise lines? Also, what are the hours of the casino and shopping facilities?
-
In the general forum. I usually use the advanced search feature.
Having trouble finding them. Are they called "dailies"?
-
Oasis and Allure are giant ships' date=' but Silhouette is still a large ship. Unless you're looking specifically for things like wave riders and rock climbing walls you'll have more than enough activities to keep you busy on Silhouette. If you search for "dailies" on the boards you'll find links that people have posted to the daily on board newsletters, which include all the activities and times.[/quote']
Great idea to search for the dailies! Are they in the general Celebrity forum, or are they found in other places?
Does the Solstice have any planned dry docks?

Just curious, but I can't seem to find evidence of a substantial Solstice dry dock. It seems the Equinox already had one, and the Eclipse will get one, but how come no dry dock has been scheduled for the oldest S-Class ship, the Solstice?
