In St. Thomas we purchased from a store in town and they wrapped and delivered to the ship so we did not have to carry back on board and it was delivered to our cabin the last night.
Were you a bit nervous that your alcohol wouldn't show up?
-
Can you walk me through the process of what happens after I buy alcohol on the islands to bring home. I assume they take it from us when we come back on the ship, from the island.
We will be flying home. Do we pack it in our checked luggage? Is there a limit? Will the liquor stores bubble wrap?

What type of sugar free or no sugar added, non-soda items are offered in the freestyle machine?
-
Did you dance or at least check out the nightclub for dancing? Since they got rid of the disco I had heard the late night activity was moved to Viking Crown lounge. Just wonder if it is still busy late and if the move works?
-
That is so sad some of the ships did not put in the shower clothes line. I loved it so much, I had my husband put one in our master bathroom shower.

If you are booked Air2Sea and you miss the flight because of delays, RCI is responsible for getting you to the next port.

A few years ago, they counted my backpack that I kept with me at all times as a $1 piece of luggage. So don't just think about your big pieces of luggage.
There was also an added charge for after 9 or 10 at night. Sorry I don't remember the exact time.

Unless the occupants of their old cabins have marked "no upgrade" on their preference no reason why RCI couldn't upgrade them to the deck 3 unobstructed. Or find others that have not marked the "no upgrade". Call back again and again until you find someone that might help you.
-
We booked an outside guarantee and was assigned deck 2. Two weeks before cruise I noticed on RCI website we were upgraded to deck six/balcony. No notification.
-
Have you been in the late night dancing club? I know they got rid of the actual disco (nightclub) and have heard it would be in the Viking Crown Lounge. But haven't heard first hand acknowledgement.
-
What are some extra things you bring when you have a balcony? We got a upgrade and hadn't planned on the balcony.
I already put in a couple bottles of wine, since we can set on the deck to watch sail away. No reason to go out looking for a drink when we can already have it in our room.
Not sure what else would make sense to bring, that we just don't know about.

Thanks, I will keep a stack of $5's handy for a full breakfast.
-
How much should we tip for breakfast for 2, for room service? I know we can do what we want, but want to make sure it is enough also.
-
I get on RCI website about once a week to double check our reservation and realized that the upgrade fairy has visited us. Our set sail pass paperwork reflects the new balcony room, but our luggage tags still say the old cabin on deck 2. Even the sample luggage tag on the set sail paperwork only shows partial information (cabin, ship, but no dates or Crown and Anchor level). How do I get correct luggage tags?[/quo
What ship? Did you go from an inside or OV to a Balcony?
What were the cabin # switches?
Adventure of the Seas (sailing January 28). Book an outside guarantee and got assigned cabin 2282 (midship/outside). Upgrade is Superior Oceanview balcony 6222.

Thanks for the info. I called C&A. They stated that luggage tags are not automatically changed. They put the information into the computer for a change. Change is supposed to happen over night and new (correct) luggage tags should be available tomorrow morning.

My DH only sleeps with a feather pillow. Can we request one when we get on board, from our room steward? Or does he need to pack one?
-
We have booked our airfare through RCI. The number if something happens and we miss the ship because of air travel is listed in the travel documents. So I printed them all. But that was a bit of an overkill. I was just to lazy to read through them all on the computer to find the correct page.

...................the O.P. isn't Young Thug is it?..............;):D
Nope. I am the original poster and am not young, nor a thug. :)

I firmly believe in the Dave Ramsey envelope system. I have a spreadsheet of all anticipated expenses. Close to sail date, I put cash in labeled envelopes for each event. A taxi that cost $16 would have a $10, $5 and $1. But it would also have an extra $4 for tip. Room service has twenty $1 bills. And so forth.
Everything that we need cash for is like this. What can I say? I am anal. The envelope packet tends to get pretty bulky with a lot of $1 for different things. I just was trying to make it a little less bulky. A ton of $1's has worked before. And it will again.

As a flight attendant, I thank you who don't consume their own alcohol on the plane. Yes, I do monitor and enforce the rules. So, Jen and Randy, when is your flight out of Omaha?
Lori
I had no clue. Thanks for the info. One TSA agent even commented to me after seeing our quart bag, "Wow. That is going to be a fun flight."
Guess mini bottles is a moot point now.

I saw on another post that you can exchange larger bills for $1 bills. It would sure be easier to bring $50s and get them changed to smaller bills on the ship. Has anyone had any problems doing this? I would hate to find out they had a limited number on $1 and we didn't have the proper tip money.
-
Hmmm...good to know! Hadn't considered giving it to them up front, but will try that!
BTW - we do Vegas often. I keep a fistful of ones (actually they are in my bra) and get great service at my slot machines as server knows they will be tipped.
Off topic but your bra money made me laugh. I have heard from a friend that there is a sign in our jail that says, No boob money will be accepted for bail money."

Keep a few in your pockets for the return flight...not an issue through port security.
They have to be in your quart zip bag for airport security.

I hope he gets better quickly. We will be flying in Saturday also. See ya on the ship.
