None of the stuff in the original list.
I do use the heck out of: my own water bottle, a small backpack (to carry my paperback and a water bottle around the ship), a lanyard (for ordering drinks quickly), and my own soap/shampoo (as theirs sucks).
-
I'm only taking about $100, but I pre-tipped and no excursion for me, so I only need for porters and room service. I tip for the bar when I sign.

I'm G, too. I hope someone answers, but if not, I'll try to remember to come back and answer you. I leave in 4 days!
-
Thank you. I did that and it worked. It just didn't let me see that until later in the process.

My roommate and I are both wanting to purchase the social wi-fi in advance because you get a discounted rate that way. I've done this before with my husband, but since I'm going with a girlfriend, I don't want her to get charged for my wi-fi. Her name comes up first in the booking.
When I go to book, it asks me to remove her name. Does that cancel her wi-fi? Are the charges split to each party if I don't remove (or at least charged to me and not her?), or charged by the room?

I had the first surge protector listed on this thread (as I took a recommendation from here and did NOT realize it was a surge protector) and they took it away. They also opened my allergy-free liquid detergent to see if it was smuggled alcohol. It wasn't, so they put it back, but did not close it all the way and my books and stuff got ruined.
Don't be me. :) Don't bring a surge protector. It's unsafe and a pain when your luggage is confiscated.

They definitely follow it. Park nearby (to grab your luggage later) and go eat at the Riverwalk. It's right there, it's beautiful, and you can get some legit New Orleans food!

I've never purchased it, but I did get priority boarding as a spontaneous gift from Carnival on check-in. (Four of us got little butterfly stickers on our check-in documents and they called us before anyone else. It was pretty sweet.)
My husband and I loved the extra two hours on a virtually empty ship. We were able to try the best food areas without a line. We got to watched everyone board. We got a nap before dinner. It was lovely.
But I can't imagine paying $50 or whatever for those two extra hours. It was fun, but not a big deal for me.
Now, I'm just speaking about the value for me, here. If the things I talked about above are worth the money, go for it. It's just not for me, even though I tried it.

I don't know the answer, but I have an 8C (I think - rm 7365) with a friend coming up on the Triumph in October, and while we'd survive sharing a bed, I was NOT looking forward to cuddling with her. I hope it's not that room.
(And how come a 7th floor room is an 8C???)

When I go off ship, I have a little purse under my shirt (a crossbody, not a fanny pack ;p) carrying my S&S card, money, ID, phone, and inhaler, unless I'm wearing cargo pants that can hold stuff.
On ship, I carry the same little purse, but definitely find it easier to keep S&S card on a lanyard. I have a couple of them picked up at Walmart or tech conferences. (I'm a tech lawyer.) It's just easier to pay for drinks in the comedy shows without digging into a bag in the dark!
Some others wear them. Some don't. NOBODY cares!!! ;) And if someone does care, who cares that they care? Ha ha. It's just convenient for me.

I would pay $35 extra each night if my husband would agree to it. So yummy.

My friend was on the ship returning to NOLA and said that I man was found dead in his cabin Sunday morning, so it took a long time to disembark.

I've been on the Dream twice (and the Inspiration when it was new in 1996). I am going on the Triumph in the fall since it's a class reunion cruise and I have to go with the group. I'm kind of excited. It has a lot of food options that the Dream, while beautiful, doesn't have. I wish it had a steakhouse! That was my favorite thing on the Dream. And cove balconies are great, but the Triumph doesn't have those. I'll just have to suffer through a normal balcony. Lol. But I'm kind of excited to go on an older ship.
I can tell you that the New Orleans port is amazing. I'm from Baton Rouge, so it's the only port we use, but it is painless to get on and off.

I've only ever gone on a cruise with my husband or my husband and kids. But, this time, I'm going with a friend and joining a group of about 40 people who I know from "very well" to "somewhat well."
Obviously, we'll have dinner seating coordinated (our travel agent is one of the people coming and is coordinating that). Other than that, how do we find each other? A Facebook group on our phone? Set meeting times to do things together? Just hope we bump into others? We won't be in rooms close to each other, so door notes aren't really an option.
For those who've gone with a bigger group, do you only see each other at dinner? What worked?
-
We usually tip room service for the number of people who ordered. So when I order for just me, $1. I order with my two kids? $3. I do throw in another dollar for particularly kind service. I figure I want to encourage kind behavior!

I really enjoyed watching her. It's not just the singing, either. She handles the crowd well. Very nice and fun to listen to while waiting for dinner.

I was on the Dream last week and the American Table 7 day Breeze menus matched ours.

I am really against food waste at home. I try to eat perishables first, freeze leftovers and eat them later, and not waste any food.
However, on a cruise, the food is part of the fun. I'm okay with that little bit of food waste, as long as it's just one week!

I'm bringing prescription meds on board in a pill sorter. I have so many that adding the bottles would mean packing an extra bag. I can do that if I HAVE to, but I was thinking of taking pictures of the pharmacy labels on my phone instead.
Anyone experience this? Are pictures sufficient?
None of the meds are controlled dangerous substances. We are talking heart and lung meds.

My husband and I booked late due to having to wait for vacation time to be approved. All that was left was late dining.
We did YTD last time, but this time we are going sans kids. I'm nervous about sitting with other people, but I'm social enough to deal with that.
However, we are used to eating early. For example, my husband often eats dinner at 4 or 5 p.m. and I usually eat by 6 p.m. Of course, my breakfast and lunch are usually light, and I assume they won't be light on the cruise.
For those with late dining, do you snack in the afternoon? For example, grab a slice of pizza or room service? Or am I a glutton?

I've stayed in a Dream cove before and would not pay for an upgrade. Coves are the coolest balconies ever.
We are in a 7th floor balcony on the Dream next week and I am so sad that we couldn't get a cove! (We booked too late.)
-
We tried to eat on the Lido deck one night on the Dream and it was pretty yucky. We got pizza and were happy. I'd do it again, one or two times, but knowing I was going for pizza or room service.
That said, I'm wearing shorts if they are dressy ones (about half my shorts maybe?) and bringing one black skirt for every other night. Same shirt as I wear during the day when I'm not in a swimsuit. (All my excursions are swimming, so I won't get all sweaty in the shirt or anything.)

I am cruising on the Dream next week.
What kind of fan should I bring to keep the cabin cool?
5-inch? 10 - 12 inch?
Plugin? Battery?
I've stayed in a Dream cabin before, but didn't use a fan and can't figure out where it would go.
Hairspray Prohibited
in Carnival Cruise Lines

Are aerosol cans of hairspray prohibited?
I went to the Carnival site and it says aerosol cans are prohibited, but I'm certain I brought hairspray in the past. Do they enforce this? Is there a safety reason?
