  1. Thanks for the input everyone!! Sounds like I should be ok. I really wanted a non connecting, but it is really tough when they have so many connecting ones. I keep checking online to see if the non connected in my CAT are available, no success yet.

My bad experience at All Star Sports was some not very bright teenage boys, they thought their friends were next door, but it was me. They kept knocking and saying "open the door man". I responded and told them they had the wrong room. I finally had to call the front desk because they wouldn't let it go. Hotel security showed up and their coach. They offered to move my room, but we were only there one more night. They weren't a problem the last night.

  2. I definitely want to do some kind of class on my upcoming cruise. We ran a few miles on the jogging deck last year, but I'd like to try something instructional.

I told my husband I might try the morning stretch at 7am, he laughed in my face and made it clear he would not be joining me.

  3. We are sailing the Fantasy in September. We have a connecting room, but are not traveling with the room next to us. Has this been an issue for anyone? Is the door in an inconvenient spot/does it affect the overall function of the room?

I obviously wont be opening it, because I wont know my neighbors, but I had a bad experience once at All Star Sports with the people in the connecting room to mine.

Thanks in advance for any experience/information you might have about this. :)

  4. We don't have kids, but we liked late seating. We usually eat late on a normal night anyway. If we get hungry around 4 or 5 we just grab something quick at Flo's. We also usually go out for a drink or something after dinner. We like getting to the atrium, enjoying the live music, having a drink before/during the 1st show.

  5. I was in a midship cabin in December and even there we had some vibration attempting to dock at CC. But that was the only time we had vibration. I have heard that aft rooms can have some vibration.

Granted, the winds were high and the seas were rough. Wasn't the greatest feeling being woken up by vibration and the captain over your cabin speaker apologizing that we wouldn't be docking. :(

  6. I love the H20 products. My husband got me a bottle of the body lotion for xmas a few years ago. Every time I put it on it brings me right back to the cruise.

They don't supply "no tear" though. Wouldn't be a bad idea though with all the kids on board!

  7. We have never bought the package. We don't have kids, so we don't have a ton of professional photos taken. I think the 8x10 photos were about $20 last time. We usually just pick one or 2 we really like and buy those. I do wish you could request what size you want. I'd much rather have a 5x7 vs an 8x10. :(

  8. I would just pack some dollar store ponchos. Easy to pack and easy to throw away after you use them. I once bought the $10 one in the parks due to heavy heavy rains, i wanted to use it again because I paid good money for it. It was near impossible to fold it all back up. From then on I always buy a few $1 ponchos just in case. Folding up a wet poncho to be reused is the worst!!

  9. I have only sailed DCL. And only cruised twice. Both trips were excellent. We have talked about trying another line, but the more research I do and the more I think about it, the more I want to stick with DCL. I could see myself saying "that wouldn't happen with Disney" over and over and over.

The only concern I have with DCL is that it is kind of limited right now with only 4 ships. I wish they went out of NYC or Baltimore, anything closer to where I am in New England.

Plus, I want that Platinum status!! :D

  10. On our honeymoon in 2013 we requested a table for 2 and got it. It might have also been due to the time of year. It was mid September and there were lots of tables that were not full. Our waiter told us that the ship was not filled to capacity.

In December 2014 we did not request a table for 2, but ended up with a table of 6. We loved them! We had two other couples about our age and we were all current or past DCL honeymooners. We still keep in touch!

For our upcoming however, I have requested a table for 4 (my DH and my parents).

  11. We have never used the navigator app.

But we did use the wave phones a few times. Its just my husband and I, so we don't split up often. When I tried to text him once and it had the T9 texting, I was a total mess . It was funny because it was only a few years ago that was how I texted all the time and I was a pro at it. On the wave phone it took me like 5 min to type a text. haha. I think I finally just called him.

  12. I did this onboard at guest services the first night of my 4 night. They put my gift cards onto my account. So my account showed a credit balance. Of course at the end, I had used it all, plus some.

I also on my 7 night went down on like day 4 and paid some of my balance down with gift cards.

The first day at guest services can be crowded, so I would recommend waiting until at least the first night-late. Like I said, you can always go a few days in and just pay down your balance, instead of wasting some of your first day in line at guest services.

  13. We did this in Sept 2013. It was really fun, but very very hot. Keep hydrated. Also, there is no where to lock up any stuff/valuables, just a big bucket to keep stuff. So if you plan on hitting the beach after the run, have a family/friend take your stuff or go back the ship after the race. We didn't bring anything with us and went back to our cabin after the run. The start/finish is kind of a hike from/to the ship, so we felt like we wasted a lot of time.

Also check the navigator for when/where to sign up.

In December 2014 we skipped CC due to high winds-the 5k was obviously cancelled, but they still gave everyone bibs and had then run it on deck 4.

  14. And remember that if you bring a bottle of wine to dinner they charge you a corking fee. Also, they don't want the bottle you bring on board anywhere besides your cabin. This doesn't mean that people don't put it into cups and walk around. I just don't think they want anyone sitting poolside with a handle of Jack Daniels.

  15. Our bags got to our room very quickly. Both times we cruised we came from WDW though and they picked up the bags @ 8am. I assume that might have something to do with it. We don't head to the pool the first day, so I never have my bathing suit in my carry on. I do however make sure all my cruise documents and something dinner appropriate is in my bag. But again, we had our bags by 2-2:30 both times. :)

  16. We just did a 4 night in December 2014. It was probably split half and half for dressing up. There were some with tuxes and long gowns, and some with polo shirts and sundresses (my husband and I). But definitely way less dressed up than formal night on a 7 day. I did see a lot of families dressed up with holiday like clothes (red dresses and xmas ties). I assume they were posing in front of the tree for their Christmas card. Cute idea.

We actually used a picture of us and mickey in his holiday sweater for our xmas card this year. :D

I cant speak for Remy as I have never been.

  17. On our first cruise my DHs suit got so wrinkled while traveling, I had to send it down to be pressed, I think it cost me about $6. Well worth it. And so easy, they picked it up and a few hours later it was hanging back in our room. :D

But for simpler ironing, the laundry rooms have irons.

And we love that our suitcases just slide under the bed!! I unpack almost everything and put it in the closets and drawers...and the bags go right under the bed!!

  18. We have done late seating both times we sailed. We don't have kids, so we don't have to worry about that. But my DH gets hungry before 8:15. We usually stop by Flos café and grab him a hot dog or slice of pizza around 5 to hold him over until dinner.

  19. Love to read about other peoples experiences!! I have been on DCL in September and December. There were way more kids on the December cruise, not sure if that is because of the time of year, or because it was a 4 day. We also had a couple of very windy days in December, we didn't get to dock at CC because of winds (not complaining, I know it happens and they do it for everyone's safety). But we made the best of it and had a blast on board!

Cant wait to sail again on the Fantasy in Sept. We will still be silver, but my parents are coming along for their first cruise ever!!!

After reading a little more, we also love deck 4. We love to get up early and jog deck 4. So peaceful and quiet.
