  1. Oh no - sorry - we've long had approval for her for a route deviation to get off early ... we just aren't sure about her 11:30 a.m flight departure. At the end of a sailing - the ship would normally arrive around 5 a.m - because it's a port day it's not the norm and they cannot tell me. I put in a call to the air dept 2 days ago for a call back and still don't have ...

  2. Full disclosure - I am a cruise consultant

I have a client doing a world segment on the Island Princess in January and getting off in Barcelona ahead of the completion of the segment

She has booked her flight (to Toronto)  to depart at 11:30 a.m and the ship - being a typical port day - is scheduled to arrive at 8:00 a.m. She is trying to enter her flight info as requested by Princess despite her obviously not having Princess transfer and taxiing herself to the airport and it is telling her that her flight is too early !  Could be too early because it's not the end of the sailing in actual fact or could indeed be outside of what would be typical parameters for Princess EZ air timing.

I haven't been to Barcelona in a few years - AP is approx 30 mins from the port - thoughts? She could book an overnight in Barcelona and do the same flight the next day or can she make it? To me- There is 'wiggle' room enough - but I don't want to lead her astray!  I thought it wise to see what those who have done it more recently than I , might think?

    Kind thanks !

*Edited to add- I have called Princess 2x and I am not sure what's up with Princess butttt they don't understand what I am asking!!!!!

If this is directed to me I am well aware of the size of the M-class Michael's Clubs and have been on the Eclipse several times.  And the usage of the Micael's Clubs/Retreat Lounges varies significantly from cruise to cruise.

No, not necessarily you… just in general

We found Michaels to be lovely actually, but tight when full as it was upon occasion JMO

These Covid cruise stories are not encouraging and are of concern to us with a December X cruise booked.

Question: Does X provide masks if requested and if so, are they common paper/poly/cloth masks or NIOSH certified N95's?

In crowded ship interior spaces e.g.; elevators, tour buses, theaters, etc., it seems to us, prudent to mask up. A small effort and price to pay that might avoid a Covid infection...

    the blue paper masks…

  5. Funny thing is for our group - 3 of the 4 of us travelling together didn’t test positive - only thing I can surmise is we’d all previously had covid not too long prior to then . But .. the CEO of Pfizer had it twice in 6 weeks so maybe there goes that!

I agree, 400 people a day are still dying because of Covid.

There should still be testing 2 days before sailing.

We were all tested before boarding in Vancouver as per regulations at that time , new rules came out whilst onboard .. crew were also required to mask, that’s now also changed. Mix that with no longer having to be vaccinated to sail? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  7. I guess from my viewpoint , it is a calculated risk to cruise  ( or do many things !) and I realize we cannot control everything.  The  unfortunate side effect though is not really thinking after 18 month planning , on 4 - B2B sailings  that one could be told you’re positive and sorry , you’re off the ship tomorrow at the end of the first sailing.  Happened to our friends travelling with us last week along with quite a few others.

One has to be prepared for that move and none of us were.

  8. I too was in the same sailing before and it was handled the same way, smoosh everyone into elevators , casino , tenders , buses and when they begin to test positive, THEN ramp up masking ! Just absurd. In our case , many people B2B were removed in Honolulu and not allowed to continue on due to Australia regulations.
Can’t see Australia being happy with any covid coming in on a ship ..from what I’m hearing cases are high enough there already.

I'm on Eclipse now--it is full. Short-staffed so you will wait in line for everything and you need to self-serve at most bars or sit at the bar.

This is our first (and last) Celebrity cruise.

I feel for the staff. They are trying very hard and extremely pleasant.

Pack your patience if you feel you must cruise on Celebrity.

Not totally full at 2550 passengers..
