  1. My points was that that there has been little experience recently, and April was a long time ago. If it means anything, we had a good experience in April.

That being said, it depends on the terminal being used, the day of the week, the number of ships in port, etc as to what can happen.

  2. So, E729 is a covered mini on the Emerald deck. The balcony is extra-large and actually allows you to see the side as well as the aft of the ship. On the Star Princess, it is E731 -- both of which are on the starboard side so you don't get the noise from the lounge below. It would be very cool to be a suite without the option of putting us in a worse location of the ship in another mini.

I think the one window suite left is not an upgrade -- which is why I am hesitant -- however, not really sure of all the suite perks so might be worth it. Decisions, decisions!!

There are lots of threads here detailing all the perks of suites, and the Princess website also lists the perks.

    Enjoy the decision making.

  3. OK...thanks. To me that is a 'real' upgrade.

From what I have read here, upgrades to suites come from minis, and rarely, if ever, from a balcony. It does not seem to have anything to do with status or special occasions.

I would do that "meta" if a window suite would suit you.

  4. Any of you long time cruisers with Princess line know when Traditional Dining HOURS start? I can't find anything regarding that anywhere.

Excuse the Off Topic question. Sorry to interrupt your discussion.;)

The Princess website lists it ship by ship and dining room by dining room.

  5. You needed to buy them when you were on your cruise....they are $100 per person, and can be used as your deposit for a cruise and depending on the cabin, and length of cruise, you get an on board credit when you use them

  6. The ziploc bags serve another purpose.

If you are doing your own excursion or going on an excursion where they don't serve meals, you can use them to bring your own food.

You can order sandwiches from room service and place them in the ziploc bags. You can then put them in an insulated tote like this one from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Raya-Insulated-Modern-Design/dp/B009SNOC36/ref=pd_sim_hg_8

This is helpful if you're going to a port where they only take local currency for food purchases or you just don't want to spend the money on food.

This is illegal in many countries.
