  1. Beginning to think we might actually be on a cruise ship January 14. Have not allowed myself to think too much about it until now but it’s time!

Using some Hilton points to have a special night at the Conrad in Fort Lauderdale before our cruise. Seems like a wonderful hotel. Anyone have a great recommendation for a romantic dinner in Fort Lauderdale not too far away? Or some thing else you really enjoy doing in Fort Lauderdale the night before a cruise?

  2. I’ve done all inclusive and lots of cruises. To me no comparison. First of all unless you spend a ton of money I think the food on cruises is much better than the all inclusive so I have done. Plus there’s just something magical and mystical about being on the open ocean. I love it so much and I’m just praying that we will be able to go on the regal January 14!

  3. For those of you who are using the at home test that princess recommends, how does this actually work? I have the test. I’ve downloaded the app and the box says to create an account before my appointment. Well I’ve created an account but I see no place to make an appointment? It looks like I am supposed to get on a desktop and just do the test. That makes me nervous because will be testing right before we leave to go to the airport and I don’t have a back up plan. Am I missing something? Is there a way to make an appointment so you know they’ll be ready to do this test?

And then if I understand it if we are negative we just bring that test result with us?

  4.  I'm seeing quite a few people commenting on the number of people on their ships. How do you know that? For instance we are sailing on the January 14 regal. Is there a way to know how many passengers are currently booked?  I think it would be wonderful for us to have a half empty ship but I would rather see it full so the cruise lines don't have such a hard time financially!

  5. I received Norwegians new Mailing today advertising  2022 cruises. Europe, Caribbean, Alaska. But nothing about Hawaii and the South Pacific. I hope that is not a bad omen for those of us hoping to cruise to those areas next year. We are booked on the  Spirit from Tahiti to Hawaii May 31 and are desperately hoping that it sails!

  6. I did check with my health insurance and they cover health issues overseas in the same way as here. BUT they do not cover medical evacuation. The answers on this forum helped me think through that. Even though unlikely that we'd be financially disastrous. So we decided to purchase insurance this time.

  7.  We sale in January less than 30 days from now. I'm reading a lot about how important insurance is but I just don't get it.    We use frequent flyer miles for our flights. It looks like everything related to Covid would be covered by the princess policies  that seem very generous and complete to me. Am I missing something? My own health insurance would cover most problems. If you buy insurance is it just to protect you against getting some other illness or death in the family or something like that that causes u to miss the whole cruise?   That seems to me to be pretty low risk and maybe not worth the cost of insurance since we are healthy and have no seriously ill family members. But maybe I'm not thinking through this well. Open to thoughts

  8. We are on the Regal January 14 and want to reserve specialty dinners. I can’t see any way to do it on the website or app. The app says to wait till closer to the sailing date. Does anyone know if this is correct is something is wrong with my app?  We are in a full suite. Is it safe to just do it on the ship or is there a danger we won’t get a reservation?

  9. Thank you everyone. This is al so helpful and very exciting. Can’t wait to get back to cruising. Well I wish now I had not paid for the enclave online but I’m hoping they’ll give me ship credit when I get on board.

  10. Thanx!  Someone on this forum said that Regal was gifting the Enclave to suite passengers. Just wondering if anyone knows if that is permanent or just something for one cruise. Like to get my money back if it’s free!

  11. We sail in January. Finally!! Third Princess cruise. First two on the Crown.

—What will we love that’s  different from the Crown?

—On the Crown they had pop up restaurants like Crab Shack. Do they have those on Regal and if so which restaurants?

    — We are in an Aft Suite. I understand that we have a Concierge lounge we can use. What is that like?  Free drinks?  Other things we should know?

    — Finally, I purchased the Enclave but I am hearing maybe it is free for those in suites?  Anyone know for sure?  Thanx!

  12. In Europe we loved Naples to explore the Amalfi coast. Magical. In the Caribbean we love private tours in Dominica and Grenada for the wildness of the waterfalls and jungle and just such unique experiences. Also cave tubing in Belize and Aruba for a day at Eagle beach which is the best beach we have ever experienced.

  13. Enjoying ur trip report!  You are in an aft suite?  We will be in D727 in January. So excited. It looks like maybe the best room we have ever stayed in. Is the balcony as wonderful as it looks?  Thinking about dinners in the balcony!  Any tips about the room?  And I am blown away about the Enclave being free. I just purchased it online. 😳 I was afraid it might fill up. Hope I can get a refund.

  14. We are excited to be cruising again in the Regal in January. Starting to plan as if this may actually happen!  We love thermal suites. Does it fill up?  Should we go ahead and reserve it this early?  And do you still have to run to the sanctuary to sign up as soon as you board or can you sign up online in advance?  Thanx!

  15.  We have been planning a 40th anniversary trip of a lifetime since before Covid and it has been canceled more times than I can remember. Finally we have hope that we actually have a plan that will go. We are booked on the Norwegian spirit for the 14 day Tahiti And  Hawaii cruise. It's not until next May. 11 months is a long time but I want to actually start planning and dreaming. It's been along time since we've been on  Norwegian. Does anyone have any reason to think that this cruise might be canceled? I wouldn't think it would be because of Covid itself by then but possibly because of changes in route or something like that? I've heard nothing from Norwegian one way or the other. Thanks!
