Just got off the Liberty and the 12 year olds were running amok in packs. I travel with kids and was actually appalled. My oldest is 8 and that won't be happening when. She is older. My parents travelling with us actually stopped 4 of them from stealing chocolate bars in the general store.
Most kids behave themselves but the ones that have no parents monitoring them just roamed around. They even threw stones all over the floor from the plants and laughed while some poor worker tried to vacuum them up. I actually spoke to the leaders when I went to pick up my 3 year old and 8 year old. They said they have no control over them when they leave the club. Which I get. I just wish some parents would be more responsible.

Motion sickness - though I'm usually the one affected I bought some stuff on Amazon that came highly recommended. It's called Motion Eaze. It;s an oil you put it behind their ears. It is safe for all ages.

We are leaving in 3 weeks on a cruise with our 3 year old and I couldn't be more excited for him! My older daughter LOVED Adventure Ocean. She went for the first time just after her 4th birthday. She wanted nothing to do with us the entire cruise. At meal times she just begged to go back. :) She's 8 now and still talks about it CONSTANTLY.
We even potty trainined my son way earlier than normal so he could go to Adventure Ocean. He just turned 3 in August but has been trained since January. We used the cruise as an incentive and told him he needed to go on the potty so he could go on the big ship.
Yes it probably won't be as relaxing as doing a vacation without kids but I figure we are making memories with them and I have lots of time to vacation without them when they are older. I was just telling my husband yesterday I can't wait to see his face when he sees the ship for the first time.
Also, I would definitely recommend you go see them at Adventure Ocean. The people who work there really love children and have more schooling than I do and I'm a law clerk.
Sorry for the long and rambling post. I'm just excited!

Last cruise my dd was almost 5 and she LOVED Adventure Ocean. I mean LOVE. She would barely sit through breakfast. She just begged to go the entire time. I feel like we never saw her except for meal times. She literally had more fun on that cruise than my husband and I combined. She is 8 now and she talks about Adventure Ocean to this day. We leave again in 3 weeks and she has been counting down for over a year.

The roll call for my October cruise is extremely active. Over 2,500 posts. That said I think it is because there is a large group of people who cruise together every Halloween. I chuckle every more reading their banter. Lets me get to know their personality. Sometimes you feel a bit on the outside but I just join it. It's all in good fun and you can always write "just joking" at the end :). I'm also part of a Faceb**k group but there are only 20 or so members and it is not active at all. Once a week someone posts a cruise picture. LOL
I have yet to attend a meeting and mingle though I sign up. The main reason being it's usually the first day and there is too much chaos when travelling with children and a large family group to attend the first day.

Hello Everyone,
My husband really wants to go to Maho and there is only one excursion through Royal. We really like Tour II. I've tried emailing Bernards a few times to enquire about pricing for children and have yet to receive a response. Has anyone had a problem contacting them?
Thanks

Soooo.... I called the 1-800-722-5443 number listed and they had no idea what I was talking about and were frankly not very friendly. He said there was no way that he could tell me what the exchange rate would be but guessed it would be whatever Bank of America has right now. He was completely clueless. Sigh.

Has anyone been able to get this deal when they booked in USA dollars? I have read the thread but I'm wondering if anyone has actually TRIED? My family members who booked the cruise did so in USA dollars because they had stock piled some money when the exchange was at par a few years ago. The dollar jumped to $0.32 this morning and I am stressing over losing so much money to exchange.

I went on the Explorer a few years ago with my brother. My niece was 8 and my dd was 5. They would not let them join the same group. Whether it was because there were too many kids or because it was too big of an age difference I'm not sure.

Adventure Ocean is free for ages 3 and up (and potty trained) until, I believe, 10 pm and then is $7 or $8 dollars an hour per child until 2am.

I heard/read a few months back that Liberty is no longer doing the game showes (i.e. Love and Marriage and Quest). This has always been a highlight for us. We are sailing in October for a 10 day cruise and would be so sad if they don't do any of them. Anyone been on a longerish cruise recently where they did them?

Does anyone know whay the exchange rate would be if I went to the pursers desk the first day with Canadian money? Would they charge the 1:1?

My husbands friend just got off the Majesty and said all drinks, except for beer, were $10 and up. He did not look at the wine though.

Sorry to butt in on the OG's post but I was wondering if anyone knows how big the pack n plays are. Are they regular size? We are travelling with my soon to be 3 year old in October. He still sleeps in a crib and shows no signs of wanting to be moved. We are in a room with the bunks above and, having cruised before, I know they are not safe for a child that young. That said, I really don't want to have to share my bed either.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly you can give names of people who can check your child in and out. I believe my parents went and got my daughter a few times. I could be remembering wrong but I don't think so

We always get the early traditional seating. Dinner at 8:30 is just too late for children under 10 (in my humble opinion). As for shows, my kids are always too anxious to get back to the kids club to watch to see a show so we always go to the later show by ourselves.

With only a year age difference there shouldn't be a problem. I know when my daughter and my niece wanted to stay together they wouldn't allow it but there was 5 years difference between them.

I am sailing on the Liberty in exactly a year and have 6:00pm traditional dining. We booked almost 6 months ago and when we tried to reserve early dining we were told it was already full. We has to haggle with them and indicate that 8:00 pm dining is too later when you are traveling with 2 three year olds, a 5 year old and a 10 year old. We were finally able to reserve the early dining. So I'm wondering if that problem was just that the dining time the OP wanted was already completely booked.

We left my daughter in the kids club last cruise when we were in Samana. We didn't feel it was 100% safe and we wanted to do a tour she was too young for. She could have cared less. She LOVED the kids club. We could barely get through breakfast every day without her begging to go. If you keep them in the club for lunch or dinner they charge a fee. 3 years ago it was $7. It might have gone up a bit. Honestly my daughter had more fun than my entire family combined. She was 4 on our last cruise. They must be 3 and potty trainined to be in the kids club.

We are a group of 12. We always use traditional dining and book our cruises 1.5-2 years in advance. We've never had a problem. We have yet to sail on a boat that doesn't offer traditional dining (i.e. Quantum). We are hoping not all the boats change so we don't have to.

We are sailing October 22, 2015 with a group of 12 and got the same line. We wanted early dining and they told us it was completely booked. We booked this cruise 4 months ago by the way. My parents who have cruised 30 plus times had to raise a bit of a stink. We are traveling with two 3 year olds, a 6 year old and 7 year old. We can't eat dinner at 8:30 at night. I would say push your agent. It worked for us.

New Beverage Package Promotions (Liberty)

We were on the 10 night cruise on Liberty before the repo (October 22). There was no discount on drink packages. The punch cards were available the last 2 days of the cruise (maybe 3 days). It was $67 for 10 drinks. They had tables set up EVERYWHERE. They were really pushing the vouchers. Maybe a lot of people didn't buy the drink package on our cruise. I like frozen drinks and they were $12.80-$14 with gratity. The most expensive drink I ordered was a coconut run mojioto and it was $14 something.
