  1. Hi DannyDriscoll,

This is what happened just before we went on our cruise we were deciding what type of cabin we were going to get and booked a JR Suite, but when the price dropped we switched to a Grand Suite and there were a few left, but this one person was not happy that she got a JR Suite, but we did not know it was ours that she got in till the meet and mingle and she told us that our mail and invitations were in her room and that she would make sure that we will get them. But that's not the end of the story when I was at the Meet and Mingle I had mention so someone that I was going to do Acupuncture and she must have overheard me. So when I got the invitation inside was a note saying that I could get a discount off on it. So I went to the SPA and brought the invitation along with the note and they told me that they do not do any discounts on it and that someone played a dirty trick on me. I went down to the customer service area and told them what happened and they were shocked that it had happened and they were very helpful with it. One other thing that happened on this cruise was that someone from another room there charges were showing up on our bill for the refrigerator which we did not use. Always check your bill statement because you never know what charges that are not yours will show up. Customer service fixed this to. Last Year when we were on another cruise we were in Saint Thomas and our driver left 15 of us stranded at Coral World and this tour was booked on the ship Oasis of the Seas.

unfortunate i tend to stay away from mingling, i find people to be often petty and jealous. probably she was jealous you had a GS and she paid the same for a JR suite. why cant people just enjoy a vacation?

  2. I read it on this board! In this very section.

of course its one of those stereo types thats based partly on the truth. younger party types love carinival as the fun ship and older more mature and serious folks like RC ships. i prefer the company of older mature people with a bit more class myself.

  3. Honestly, not freaking one little bit. Yes, the cruise line has every right not to disclose the group or the amount of people in it but I have every right to cancel my cruise if I feel the group is too big. It has nothing to do with who they are, its more a concern that there will be areas of the ship that will be off limits to those who are not in the group.

i agree, im not a fan of these big groups hogging and closing off venues. hmmm now i need to be research on my Quantum trip to make sure im not on with any big groups

  4. You say "What I'm really surprised about is how many people say that guests on RCCL, and even the staff are snobs."

    Who are these people?

    Exactly how many are there?

And where do their opinions come from... have they sailed Royal? Have they ever sailed?

Are they close family and friends?

    Are they a credible source?

you sure ask a lot of questions

  5. Are you saying you paid addition tip when you got your cup filled at a bar rather than the machine?

No, i was just mentioning the irony of being grated but only using the bar once, they sort of made a face like they didnt want to bother getting me a soda, so i got the rest from the fountain to avoid that. Plus i liked the different cherry zero stuff. so i didnt mind.

  6. I'm really not looking for a fight, but you really need to come down off that high horse. IN YOUR (derogatory) OPINION the inner is a "dorm room cabin" and "2nd place" of the two options. But as can be seen by this thread some PREFER the inside so it's hardly a "clear 2nd place" to all. Their opinions are every bit as valid as yours, and may not even change "after they gain more experience like you have."

i agree,i love the inside middle, i sleep great its quiet and i dont get the sun in my face while sleeping, also i have heard people talking in a balcony room and also opening and closing their balcony doors, some which love to do it every 2 min.

  7. I think the entire point went over all their heads.

One thing about some of the people on this site,

They will defend RC's position no matter what the circumstances are...

No this is not the case, You said you find most front desk people "unskilled" this is the sort of looking down on people mentality. People in customer services should be treated the same as any human. I also went on to add the front desk person could in fact be the GM and have a better car and make more money then you. I know because I run a Hilton and it has happened to me several times.

Not really defending RC or another poster at all. Just the treating of any staff in general.

  8. Wow, really? You can get a package that includes all the cocktails, wine, bottled beer, frappucinos, frozen margaritas, bottled water and freshly-squeezed orange juice you can drink but you'd have to pay extra for a Sprite Zero?

    That just doesn't seem sensible!

you can get a sprite zero from the soda machine if a freestyle machine is onboard the ship.
