  1. I finally learned over the last couple of cruises that when you are in port and they announce that you can get off the ship, that is a good time to go get breakfast (or lunch for a late stop) and take your time eating it, then when you get off 45 minutes later there's no line and sometimes not even a photographer to slow you down.

Even more important if the ship arrives in port late in the morning. It seemed EVERYONE was ready to get off the ship at 11AM in Coz last winter. We'll wait next time.

  2. wishing to just being able to take a cruise......any cruise......would be considered elitist in many people's minds. ;)

So very true. I never would have dreamed I would be in a position to visit to so many different places. I am blessed....we all are.

  3. don't worry, most plats and diamonds i have met are not elitist. and i don't think the op is either. he/she just wished they would have a cruise dedicated to the more loyal passengers and i see nothing wrong with wishing for that. kind of like wishing for a child free cruise.....probably will never happen but it's nice to wish for it.

I'm sure most are great. But, those that make a negative impression (both experienced & inexperienced) are the ones that people remember. Wishing for a dedicated cruise for "loyal passengers" is elitist in my mind.

  4. Thank you Lord for providing me w/ ignorant bliss on my first cruise...I thought that blue card was the color for my muster station. Please help me to fight the temptation of becoming an entitled, elitist as I approach platinum level.

  5. I'm a new Arkansan, originally from Indianapolis, so I'm going for the Big 10 (or 14) champions INDIANA HOOSIERS!!!

Well, I think we both got shafted on the seeding, but it should be a great 2nd round game. I hope your team losing doesn't reduce your enjoyment of your cruise. :D If I were you I wouldn't watch tomorrow.

  6. We docked in Cozumel at 11AM and it seemed like everyone was up and ready to get off the ship at the same time. Long lines, very long lines actually. If I had known I would have waited at least until 11:30 to get started.

I doubt you will have the same issue early, but you never know.

  7. Thanks for reading! You will have a great cruise!

Hello, while I loved this trip very much and would recommend it to anyone, I'm Afraid that I would not recommend it to you. Some parts of the trip you need to legitimately swim, and you need the basic aspects of kicking and pushing to the surface after sliding down a waterfall to get back to the top. Plus, the jump was my favorite part, and that's a very high drop. There are tons of heights throughout, especially on the hike. I think when you stop here, you should do something a little more in both of your comfort zones, because the last thing you want is an injury or discomfort to make the day turn into a bad one.

You will ove the Dominican Republic, and like I said, get out to Amber Cove and go see the place!

Thanks for the answer. Although we could probably do the excursion no need to be anxious or stressed during a cruise. We'll look for some other options.

  8. We just returned from our cruise that stopped at chankanaab. I must say the park was AWSOME!!! We swam with the manatees and snorkeled

    Here are my helpful hints.

Bring your own snorkels. Walmart or sports authority have them on sale. Use them ALL DAY.. Not just the small time slot

And bring CHEERIOS! Fish luv them and the come in all their colorful glory close enough to touch. It's verrrry safe.

Second... Know that they do NOT ALLOW you to take your own camera to swim with dolphins or manatees. They make you pose picture after picture using up your time interacting with these incredible animals. You CAN limit them. Please please know it's a HUGE push at the end of your encounter to purchase photos that are NOT FIXED IN PRICE! HAGLE HAHLE HAGLE!!! Try walking away and watch the price DROP!!!!! People were charged per person in a photo any where from $40/ 8x10 to ALL THE PHOTOS for your whole family on a disk for $80 if the walked away!! Watch as your taking the pics how they set you up so you NEVER GET A GROUP PICTURE. THE WORK HARD to get only one person in a photo.

We had an amazing time and I highly recommend the park. But the whole photo push was a major negative

Thanks for the info. Can you remember a price for a 5 x 7 photo of the manatees? If they won't take one of my wife and I together they won't sell a pic to me. :)
