I've been delaying this review as I wanted it to be complete, but alas my issues are still unresolved, but let's go.
We arrived at a La Quinta on 11/15. I would recommend them as most of my party stayed there, and we got upgraded to a suite. The price was very affordable, and rooms were clean.
My morning was spent in hair and makeup, and I was filled with nerves. Carnival started calling me at 9:45am, as I still wasn't there. Once I arrived, we were no where near boarding but I had a great wedding team.
We went over exactly what was to happen and they seemed to be really excited that I had no wedding party (except flower girl and ring bearer), and nixed almost every activity. We went over pretty much all our concerns and I felt confident that these ladies were gonna make it happen.
Once on board, the first thing I noticed was my husband didn't have the tuxedo in the room. My dream team rushed into action trying to hunt down the tuxedo, and I started freaking out when I was told there was no record of an order. I emailed my coordinator the proof of order, and the measurements. Then, it was said the tux was in the candy store.
Unfortunately, this is what we got. It was ridiculously big. Luckily, we have amazing friends, and we kinda stripped them down to get something workable. My hubby got to get married in his dark jeans. We were credited back on board since my dream team kept advocating for me. (Also for the error, we were given a night in the steakhouse and two bottles of wine)
Then, a photographer came in, did these poses with me, and off we went! The ceremony was very quick, maybe 10 minutes. We wrote our own vows. Our minister made a joke about tuxedo gate 2015, and we had a beautiful ceremony followed by a short sand ceremony.
There was SO many pictures being taken, from friends, family, and then Carnival. My husband is not a fan and definitely has a limit but he was a good sport (for the most part).
Once we got married, it was party-time. Our setup was gorgeous, and when we walked in, we immediately were instructed into our first dance. We opted to do cake cutting right at the beginning to knock it out and enjoy the rest of our event.
Our Dj was amazing, and commented that she loved my playlist. She understood that if my BFF was not in the room that she shouldn't pay a certain song, I said it jokingly, but when the song started, my BFF really wasn't in the room! DJ flipped to next song to buy some time. I love "back that thang up" and it was a hit.
I really appreciate the customer service because as I was leaving the dancefloor, one of the ladies walking around with drinks already had ice water waiting for me. I tipped her individually, as she was proactive and a sweetie with my Godtwiins.
I barely ate any of the food, but everyone said it was tasty. Try to eat! I was really worried about the set up and had assigned people, but from what I was told later, a lot of the set up was completed before my guests could get to it. My MIL and SIL got the favor bags ready. A family friend handled the cake, and Carnival was so impressed they asked her if that's what she did for a living.

It's getting closer to my day and I feel a bit on edge about if the day will go smoothly once on board. It seems like many brides have small snags (which we're pretty cool with), but I am hoping nothing goes majorly bananas.
I'm wondering at what point the wedding coordinator will contact me. I'm worried about decorations. I'm worried about tons of things I know other people, loved ones and staff, will take care of for us.
Tick Tock, It's coming up Monday! Excited!

Since my wedding is coming up, I recently sent Carnival my song list. We are bringing our own music, and apparently, we can just connect an old iPhone to the ship with cables (I'm also putting it on my android phone, and bringing an audio CD).
I was really unsure about how many songs, and worried about variables (didn't want to run out of music, but also didn't want too many songs). They haven't responded as I asked if I needed to shorten the list, or if any songs (since some are clean versions of quite explicit songs) would be unacceptable to Carnival.
It's been an event choosing songs for such a short ceremony/reception. To other brides, I'd recommend the DJ option, if you like the disco area.
-
Harmony,
I'm glad they responded and fixed it. It certainly is unnerving. It really is a risk we all take.
-
I am unsure how that would work. I'm hoping to bring my bags onboard in like a clear container/bin. I figure it's just going through that machine.
-
Harmony sweet- your situation sends chills down my spine.

Originally I selected the DJ option, but my fiance was not a fan of the disco on Carnival Freedom. He's a reserved type o' fella, and I think the Havana bar has a cool Hispanic vibe that fits (fingers crossed). The flip side of that is I'm left with reception music searching. I'm on the hunt for fun music!
-
My wedding day is getting clear, and I'm drawing a blank on what to play at the reception. My mom gets 5 songs, and I'm assuming she'll choose some fun salsa, merengue, and other songs. My fiance isn't a dancer but I like to dance. Or at least if other people want to, I want then to be able to. What songs did you or will you play at your wedding?
So far, the ceremony itself I want instrumental only versions. I am at a loss of what to play at my reception though. Advice?

I think I'm deciding not to. When I went on my ship tour, we were easily able to grab food. We all ate a burger, and had tea/lemonade to drink. The wedding coordinator (for the bride of that day) told my little ship tour party that we could just take the pass off and eat. I had my guest pass clipped, but I don't think the workers are really worried.
It's the first day, people are swarming, they are just trying to get food out.
I've heard if a non sailing guest wants an alcoholic beverage or soda before my wedding, they can be charged on their credit card.

I just went on my ship tour. Carnival freedom. I was told 9:30am too, but the wedding party got there closer to 10:30ish. I rather people be early.

Congratulations! Thanks for the review!
-
I do worry that it isn't worth it. 😕
-
What?! I didn't know that. I'll ask. Thanks.
-
Yes, please! I love all these picture you've been posting.
-
Is there any way they can deliver the favors to the staterooms of your sailing guests? I wish they did.
-
Yay! Thank you. I'll look when I get home. I can't thank you enough.
-
I wanted to do something like that, but I chose an embarkment day wedding so the reception is only an hour and a half, so...I didn't. Time is limited already.
-
I'm also looking for slord12's version. My email is RamirezFamily2015@yahoo.com

Thank you for your review, and pictures. You look gorgeous and it seems like it was a great experience (which is reassuring to hear). I love your oot bags. I hope to do something similar.

We are heading to Florida tomorrow for our wedding on Thursday and will be gone for almost 2 full weeks! If I've shared the documents with you and someone else asks for them please send them and continue to share! Expect a detailed photo review when we return!!
Whenever you come back, I'd still like your version. Please 😀
-
Oh wow. That's no time at all!
-
Any more recent brides with tips? I'm dying to know as our day gets closer.
-
I just picked up my dress. I'm having basic alterations done/start on Friday. I just got our cake topper. I received the lanyards for my favors. My idea is a tumbler filled with indiv packets of Advil & Dramamine, lanyard, & SPF ChapStick. It's just strange to see things come in. I suppose it makes it real.

I just came back from my destination wedding in Santorini! We got married there on June 2nd in Santo Winery.Till I got there and met my planner Alexandra from Gold-Weddings Santorini ) I was a bit anxious, but afterwards everything was fine.
So everybody shouldn't feel nervous just enjoy your big day! I already miss it...:( At least I got my wedding dress to remind me of it...
Fantastic, have you made a review? I lurk but it's hard to remember usernames.
Carnival Wedding onboard Freedom 11/16

We took so many beautiful pictures after, and like many in our generation, if there was an all digital package, we would have gotten it. However, we opted for the $899 package as it was the lowest basic package that offered a CD of the photos purchased.
The photos are gorgeous, and honestly, so was the video put together by our photographer (we opted against it). We live in an apartment and frankly, have no use for canvas print of us or a video.
Unfortunately, when we got home, we realized the CD given is blank. There is no data on it at all. It was still the day we got off the ship when I emailed Carnival wedding dept and wedding experience. Both told me that they would send email to guest services. I called guest services, and a case was opened. Since then, I've emailed again, and received a reply on 12/11 from a Ms.King stating "We have received your feedback regarding your wedding experience. This incident is under investigation; once completed you will receive a resolution via email. In the event the resolution is in the form of a Carnival check, it will be mailed to the address you provided."
It's a bit frustrating as I still haven't scanned in each photo from our wedding and really wish we had digital copies.
I'd probably still do it again, just bring my own tux, and double check, somehow, that there were actually photos on the CD.
