  1. We are also getting married on the Freedom in April 2016 so I'll be looking forward to your review! :)

Where is your ship sailing from?

We live in TX, so Galveston port was our choice to allow non sailing guests a chance to come. My future in-laws are major cruisers and apparently, Freedom is now a Galveston ship. They just came back a few weeks ago from a 12 day cruise on it, and they think we will like it. Fingers crossed! I'm fairly nervous about how it's all going to work out.

I'm an only child, 26, with a mom who has been dreaming of this day so, I'm a bit nervous but glad I can just blame the cruise for any minor detail that goes "wrong", or blame them for "not being able to make it extravagant"... even though I wanted it simple for my own reasons. Lol. I'm excited. My bar is set low. I want a nice looking place to wed, good food in my tummy, and a drink in my hand. 😆

  2. I haven't spoken directly with Troy's sister....so I have no idea how they are feeling about things. I can't imagine they will be overly happy with our new stipulations but that isn't my fault. I mean they're going from we will pay X dollars towards your cruise (the cost of his brother-in-laws fare, since he is in the wedding), to they have to pay for all of their travel expenses and reimburse us $300. That's not really a great spot to be in, but like I said I don't feel bad and I'm not the one who put them in this position.

I may sound cold-hearted but oh well - you should have heard me a week ago when I found this out....I was livid; I've calmed down a lot since then. I've realized that it isn't my problem and I need to let it go.

I wouldn't feel bad, either. It's not as if you forced her to be pregnant. Wow, you were originally covering the travel costs? I feel like such a bad bride. I'm not covering anything for anyone. I got a group booking rate for a hotel for the night before the cruise, but that's about it.

Truthfully, I chose a cruise wedding because most the planning is out of my hands, and a destination wedding cuts down the list significantly. I mean, I'm getting married on a Monday! Thus far, I'm at around 60 guests. Around 25+ not sailing. I'm shocked so many said they are coming. I don't think anyone will get pregnant, but I do she some newlyweds, so you never know.

  3. I have read on a few boards where a family or friend was able to decorate the cake beforehand. I would imagine this is done when everyone gets on the ship while the bridal party is getting ready. I will be hoping to do the same.

And honestly, if the coordinator has to do it I would imagine no one would notice (except the dear family friend who wanted to make the cake). Carnival is very accommodating however, and I'm sure if you talk with your coordinator she will be able to work with you.

That's what I'm hoping for. I suppose that's the part that has me the most nervous. I chose a cruise wedding, specifically because I'm not into planning, but several family friends are eager to help with decorations, the flowers, the cake, etc and I suppose I'm just a bit nervous.

Well, that and if my decorations may clash with the decor already there. I'm getting married on the freedom, and I chose the DJ option, so it will be in the club. I'm not sure if I'm excited about that or not. It seems like everyone gets married in the stage areas of the ship for the ceremony and that would be fine with me.

Honestly, I just want it to look nice. I'm organized. I got a binder, but I just want it to look nice. Shades of blue are my colors (I couldn't choose) and I love the ocean (hence the cruise), so starfish, seashell, all that. November just seems to be rushing closer and closer. Makes me anxious

  4. I suppose what I'm nervous of is how everything is able to be decorated. One of my guests really is handling the whole cake,as she is disappointed she couldn't actually make the cake. She's such a dear family friend, and is bringing starfish details and ribbon and a sparkly topper for the cake, but I'm not sure how all that gets done. What I read, you just give it to the coordinator but how would she know how to set it up? I just want things to be nice, like most brides

  5.

Thank you for your photos. It really looks beautiful and I love checking out how the cruise line takes photos so I can figure out what shots are "must haves."

I'm more so worried about the decorations, and how they will get all set up, but seeing other people's photos of how their day came together sort of puts me at ease.

  6. I love my ring, and being the specific kind of lady that I am- this exact setting and the gemstone I wanted was bookmarked in our shared browser. He picks up on my ever-so-stealthy hints! LOL. I like a classic, simple kind of ring, and the band is a classic knife edge wedding band.

I really love my ring <3

  7. I'm pretty excited today, even though I'm under the weather. We officially booked our wedding package, and I received the Carnival emails with all the documents....all in one day. The invitations arrived just the other day, and my mom is printing out labels for the outside envelopes and rsvp envelope. It feels like it is actually real. I'm not really into the planning part so hopefully, between Carnival, and my mom, the day will look amazing.

  8. Congratulations. I can't imagine your excitement. Do write back when you find someone to do your hair and your review of their services. I'm booking a wedding cruise with Carnival for next year by the end of this week, and I would love to hear feedback.

I'm not a great planner and the fact that the cruise takes care of the bulk of it appeals to my groom and me. Are you choosing your own music? Did you know what room your ceremony and reception are in?

  9. I have actually been sort of confused about Carnival Wedding Prices. I haven't booked the actual wedding package yet, but have already booked my cruise (which I understand is handled separately.) I thought the package includes an open bar, and I've been confused by some people saying that after they book they receive totally different price sheets for wedding and reception. I really wish they put these lists out for the public so I can make a better decision
