  1. Seconded -- we take the Auto-train to FL every March, and coming from CT it is far more relaxing to spend the night there than either getting a very early start and worrying about that dismal I-95 traffic. It is just on the other side of I-95 from the Lorton station and there is a shopping mall across the way and several restaurants in the area for a decent pre-boarding lunch. Now that there is no longer free wine on board, we buy a few small bottles and snacks for our compartment since the lounge car is so crowded. The cost cutting: no wine, fewer lounge cars, etc. has made the trip less enjoyable.

    Hello,

The Comfort inn is at the same exit for the auto train. Excellent choice and enjoy your cruise

  2. It's funny but I don't think of Majesty 3 day cruises as being "hard partying." Sure, there can be a younger crowd and drinking, but I've seen similar antics on a 7 day cruise.

The 3 day I did on Carnival was much much worse partying-wise.

No hard partying just alot of fun last time we were on a carnival ship was in 1996 when I could party hard, still had more fun on RC

  3. Not sure why someone would say the 'shorter cruises out of Miami tend to be more fun'. All cruises can be fun, regardless of length.

Yes they all can be fun and we know how to have it, we did enjoy the Allure, Explorer and the Grandeur. In our personal opinion FOS was the worse cruise we experienced. figured we try her Majesty because of previous reviews and a quick getaway for our Anniversary.

  4. I just returned from a 4 day and I got the select package. There was no limit to how many you can have a day. Only beer that wasn't allowed, from what I was told, was Fosters and Guiness. I also took advantage of virgin cocktails, which were included, and twice I purchased a separate shot of rum for $3.95 and mixed my own drink.

How much is the select package my DH loves beer also

  5. This time of the year you will find a variety of ages. I am sure you will still find families with kids that have not gone back to school yet. As the weeks progress, you will find fewer kids.

You will find the older group (whatever that is) on longer cruises.

Age range of 70 n up, about 2 years ago 8 of us were on the ship for a 9 day Bahamas cruise in January 2013, we really enjoyed ourselves and the elders new how to party we wanted to see if more younger kids were sailing, we want to bring some nieces/ grandkids along the next time we sail out of Baltimore. We all range in age from 45-56

  6. I have been on the bar hop 4 times. Anytime I have a friend cruise with me that hasn't been, it is a must do. the other side of the island is beautiful and untouched by tourists. No electricity (just generators). Its not a get drunk, drunk bar hop. They will offer you a fruity type drink in a shot glass at the four bars. You will have time to order your own drinks/soda (pay for them yourselves) sit in the pool or the beach. Each stop is about 45 minutes. At coconuts most people order some food. the view is to die for. They'll give you a T shirt also.

    Hello,

Seven of us will be on FOS and docking in Cozumel on March 6, 2015

Do u know if we dock at intl pier, interested in this tour wish I had known

    about it last October

  7. Was at Mr sanchos thursday. Will never go back. First the all inclusive menu is half the size of the ala cart. We decided to check out the cash side before getting all inclusive and was pissed when all the things we wanted to order weren't on the menu, we were told that " it wasn't offered at this resort"... but 20 feet away it was offered. Next... bathrooms. Signs say DO NOT FLUSH TOILET PAPER PLACE SO I LED TOILET PAPER IN TRASH CANS"

The place is kind of a joke. For 50 bucks you get a chair some cheap food, and bottom rail drinks... oh and pushy vendors. I'll gladly pay the extra for playa mia next time.

    Thanks no sanchos for us

  9. Wow expensive. We were in a gated villa community 4 years ago and remember everything was expensive too until someone at guest services said the shuttle driver can take us on his own time in a minibus for $100 a day for the 8 of us. We did Ochos and DRF that day. We of course tipped nicely but wow so much cheaper still when there is no middle man. I'm trying to get a hold of him again through them.
