  1. Hi Milhouse, thanks for responding. You are the only person who has so far. You mention you walked around. I have read so much that it is not safe, etc. Did you just exit the port and take a stroll around Falmouth? I would love to do that. Can you tell me a little more about your experience?

  2. Is there a trolley tour that departs from the port at Falmouth? I want to keep it simple on my port stop at Falmouth and have seen pictures of a trolley that tours the city. Any information will be appreciated.

  3. I want to thank you both, BNBR and Diver2014, for also responding to my question. It really helps to hear from folks who live in the area. Since I have never stayed in Miami, I really had no idea where would be a good area to get a room for the night(that is why I just went with properties that included airport shuttle service in the room rate). I would really like to stay downtown but the room rates for my November 3 night are higher than I want to pay. Thanks again!

  4. I have two places picked out for my one night stay before I cruise in November. Both offer airport shuttle as I am arriving at 5pm the night before the cruise(flying into Miami). Does anyone out there in Cruise Critic Land have a thought on either of these? Courtyard Coral Gables on Le Jeune Road or Residence Inn Miami Airport West/Doral NW 91st Avenue in Doral. I have never flown into Miami or stayed in a hotel in Miami. Just wondering which of these would be a better choice. They are about the same price. I really just need a decent place with maybe a place to walk to for dinner. I will uber to the port in the morning. Help me decide!!

  5. I have just found a flight from MIA to LAS on 11-11-17 for 233.60 total(for hubby & self, after $100 stmt credit) BUT it's leaving at 11:15am. I have never took a flight from MIA to LAS and my question, will we okay disembarking on the Norwegian Escape 8am and having a flight leaving at 11:15am? Our last port is Nassau the day before so I don't think there could be a docking delay, yes or no? This is a killer price but I need advice if we will have enough time to get from dock to MIA. I really would appreciate everyone's experience on this. Thanks!

  6. My husband has contacted via email a fellow we met last January in Roatan(he was a driver for a tour we were on and we kept his business card). We are going to hire him for our port day in Roatan. I would love to hear from all of you as to some of the spots we could request to be taken. We have only been to Roatan once so we really don't know much about the island. I am not even sure what I want to see or do!! I am thinking I would love just a wonderful drive around the island and maybe a stop at a beach or two and a snack/drink at our drivers suggestion. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what I should ask our driver to show us? I feel kinda dumb about this but I just don't know what I should ask to see!

  7. Just a few questions. The Coral Breeze tour in Belize looks like something I would like. I was looking at Carnival's cost for a very similar excursion and I could save about $25 to $30 per person(adult). I am always afraid of the time constraints and I know when on a Carnival tour I have no need to worry about getting back. Can you give me a little more details how the process worked for this excursion?

  8. Believe it or not, I booked this cruise for November 2017. I have never booked a cruise this far out. This morning I called Norwegian and switched to another cabin. I was just to concerned I would not like the angled balcony. I looked on you tube and it appeared that with the angle I could really see into the balcony of my neighbor and I didn't want to intrude on their privacy.

  9. I agree that Carnival is not always the lowest cost for a cruise. I am always looking for a price that I think is good for me. I have been on Royal, Norwegian and Carnival for my past three cruises. When I find what I consider a "deal" I jump on it. For example, darn it, a deal I missed out on because I waited one day too long. Norwegian Escape November 2017, $799 for a balcony cabin including my choice of two enhancements(I would have picked beverage and dining package). I think that is a killer price. I am so mad at myself for waiting that one day. It went from $799 to $999 in one day and no, I didn't book at $999. I will just wait until I see another "deal" that works for me. Even just typing this is making me cry!! I could have been booked for next November but now I am not.

  10. The scrambled eggs on any buffet are just plain, ick!! What is that taste/flavor anyway? I even order over easy eggs at the sea day brunch because I don't want to have those "other" eggs served to me. Nothing better than the steak and real eggs at sea day brunch, yum yum. Can't wait until my next cruise.

  11. I love the first sea day. We hit one of the hot tubs first thing in the morning. I love being one of the first guests out on the pool deck in the fresh, clean hot tub. So fun staring out at the blue ocean and just watching guests come alive on the first sea day of everyone's cruise. Relax for a little bit and then decide on what we should have for food, breakfast or lunch.

  12. I agree with all the posts so far. I went with a Victor Boden tour while in Roatan. I did the tour fun & sun(something like that). The Boden tour desk is really easy to find when you get off the ship. You don't have to walk out of the area to find it. There were six guests on our tour and we loved the driver. At no time did we feel uncomfortable, unsafe, etc. I think you will love every minute. Have fun!

  13. Trying to picked between two excursions offered by Carnival while in Belize. 1. Shark, Rays, Barrier Reef Snorkel & Island Escape $99.99 per adult. From the description it goes to Las Olas Restaurant. 2. Shark, Rays & Island Getaway $104.99 per adult and it goes to Lazy Lizard Restaurant. Departure times are almost the same and only a $5 difference. These are some of the differences I see while reading the description of the excursion. Any advice to throw out to me to help me decide? Anyone done both and prefer one over the other?

  14. I am trying to find out if what I read here on CC is correct. I plan on purchasing Carnival transportation from Hobby the morning of my cruise. Is it true that I will be able to bypass the staggered check in times and just enter when I arrive on the bus? Right now I have 11:30am check in time. Someone mentioned that purchasing Carnivals transport gives me this perk.

  15. Thanks everyone for your answers. I will be staying at a hotel near Hobby, taking the hotel shuttle back to Hobby in the morning and getting on the Carnival bus to the port. The busses leave Hobby at different times. Does anyone recall the approx. times they leave? Not sure if I should get on the first bus thus getting to port too early or just wait for second bus. If I do take the first bus, can I give luggage to porter at arrival? My husband and I could then take a walk around the area. Also, am I understanding correctly that earliest I can even enter the terminal is my window time of 11:30 to noon? Sounds like I need to plan to arrive at terminal around 11am or so. I don't want to spend the money on a private car(too costly for me). Anyone have experience with the Carnival bus and arrival times?
