  1. Myself and a group of girlfriends are leaving on the Triumph on the September 5 sailing- 4 days out of New Orleans. I have always gotten off the ship and gone right to the airport due to an early flight. We are staying in New Orleans for an extra day and was thinking of hanging out on the ship as long as possible. Does anyone know what the latest time we can stay on would be? Also does Cheers work on that morning for drinks or are any bars open to even serve? 10 more days......

  2. Did you have any time changes on the ship and/or was there different times in the ports than the ship??? Specifically different times on Grand Turks, St. Thomas, San Juan, PR, than ship time???

Also anyone have the fun times or a link to a thread that has them?

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

The time always stays on ship time which is the time zone from the port of departure. It does not matter where you go it stays the same throughout the cruise.

  3. Assuming you're doing a closed loop cruise.

Best to have the ML as a bridging document. BUT do they have middle names on their BCs? What are they? Easier if they're using their maiden surname as a middle name.

It's not too late to get expedited passports.

The bridging documents are required when your government issued ID is different than the name on your travel documents. I have posted the info from the Carnival Website regarding this below. It does not say you need the bridging documents if your government issued ID is the same as on your travel documents. There may be something somewhere else where it states this but I don't see it. I have always just use my birth certificate and drivers license. ( My license and travel documents are in the same name)

It is important that the guest's full name on the cruise and airline tickets be the same as the guest's non-expired government-issued photo I.D. they plan to use for travel identification. In the event of a different name on the cruise/airline ticket and the guest's photo I.D. as a result of a marriage, divorce or a legal name change, documentation (original or clear, legible copy) supporting this change is required (at embarkation), such as a marriage certificate, marriage license or legal name change court document. Failure to bring documentation bridging the name differences could result in denial of boarding.

  4. I travel with my birth certificate and photo ID. I have never been asked for anything to prove my name change, however I do have my original social security card with my maiden name on it and my current social security card. I would think that would be good enough should they ever ask for it.

  5. So, If I do have to move to a 2 pax cabin, will they make me rebook at the current rates? They have went up quite a bit since I first booked.

I understand that the rates will change going from 4 to 2 passengers, but will they at least stay at the rate that I originally booked?

My rate stayed the same as when we booked when I cancelled our 3rd person out of the cabin. It was before final pay date so I do not know if that matters or not. We just lost the $49.00 deposit that she had paid.

  6. Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions (and some of the side conversations were pretty interesting too). I think I will add a simple pair of sheers to my luggage just to be safe - I pack light (airline carry-on only for me) so I'm sure I'll have room since they're so small. Added bonus: I can toss 'em at the end of the cruise and have room for a souvenir or two. BUT, if someone knows for sure that the Glory already has them in the 4J cabins, I'll leave them at home :-)

We were on the Glory in a 4J and I swear that there were sheers. But can't tell in the picture below so I am not 100%. You could not see in the windows during the day unless you pressed your face up against them. There were hardly any people ever out there. Love these rooms and we had the corner cabin which is huge.

  7. So far, Carnival's schedule doesn't say what's coming. Most likely it'll be routine hotel maintenance and the usual spit & polish. Maybe WaterWorks like her sister ship, Glory, just got earlier this year?? Rumors have been flying around that it's scheduled to get a very nice Serenity deck. Possibly one that rivals some of the best in the fleet. We were on Conquest last year. It'll be interesting to see if the rumor is true.

Oh I hope so we have an 8 day booked on the Conquest in March of 2018 with a Grand Scenic Ocean View, an awesome Serenity deck would be icing on the cake...

  8. If you apply your gift cards to your on-board account, Carnival is "supposed" to refund any leftover account credit at the end in a check. That's what I've read but have never experienced it personally. FWIW. ;)

You can cash out any remaining funds at the Casino..

  9. They are now allowed to let you order a drink and water at the same time but not soda and a drink. We were not able to last year but on our March 2017 cruise the bartenders said that it had changed and they could do both water and a drink at the same time. Good idea in my book.

  10. We were on the Dream a few weeks after dry dock. The smoke in all of the ships casinos are like this, at least all the ones that I have been on, which is why we avoid it. I do not know how this could ever be fixed unless they made it non-smoking altogether. I never smelled the sewer smell even on my past cruise on the Dream. We were on Lido this cruise and on deck 2 in 2015. I think most of the updates were cosmetic plus they did add an Alchemy Bar, Blue Iguana Cantina, and Guys Burger.

  11. Taxi is $36 for up to two people...$15 per person for 3 or more people. You may want to check that against uber.

And I am sure the rates change on Uber depending on different factors, I believe when we were there in March it was going to be $35 to Uber and it was $36 for cab and it was there and waiting. I also am not downing Uber or Lyft just sharing our experience. I love Uber..

  12. Missed out on $500 cards and I refuse to buy the $100 cards. The $100 come via USPS and considering I have had my mail stolen, lost and destroyed by USPS over the last 3 months I can't trust them. UPS only with signature confirmation, which is what $500 cards require.

I bought $500 worth of $100 cards and they came UPS and required a signature so as long as your total is $500 they will come UPS and I received them 2 days after I ordered them.

  13. What makes the Alchemy Bar your favorite? We'll be on the Dream in July:)

The alchemy bar mixes up drinks according to your likes/dislikes, it is like a pharmacy of drinks. We would go every night and have the same alchemist and he would experiment with what we liked and make some pretty awesome drinks. It is also just a neat place to hang out.
