Our last experience was a GU room on Epic.. Never done it before with any cruise line but the price was so cheap it was "Ill take whatever"..
So we booked a GU Inside.. When we got the room number they gave us a balcony :)

Only issue we had last time was a lge group of Eastern Europeans who practically took over the MDR for a wedding dinner .. Not a pretty sight  and fortunately not repeated on any other night.
try to avoid school hols but I can imagine European and British school holidays being a bit of a nightmare on the Epic

Le Bistro hands down.. Better food; better atmosphere, better service and even with the a la carte changes better menu.. And you dont have to walk through the rabble of the school canteen to get to it

Bought mine a few months ago.. Theres still an issue though with them showing the correct cash total but not the correct units amount on the amenity receipt ..
Contacted the Captains club and they confirmed its showing correctly on the system but for some bizarre reason known only to celebrity it can only list 2 items per receipt so if you add more than two blocks of 9 OBC it wont list - yet it will be reflected in the total.. Why is it most cruise lines have inept IT depts - its like they all use a system thats not made for the job.

On our recent Eclipse cruise we were heading for Morning Trivia in the Sky Lounge, to find it set up for the later Art Auction. We got chatting about the art Auction to someone with stripes (position deliberately omitted) who commented that they only needed two buyers to make a profit - interesting...
Cant say i'm surprised.. The art in general at all these things looks like it came from a factory , line producing garbage for discount stores.
Even when the artist is a actually someone you have heard of (very rare occasion) - its way below the standard and you often find its a set of 20 - 30 originals.

Just ask the steward if at the end of the first leg if hes doing the next leg.. etc etc -
-
I would add to my comment above that they were an exception.. Generally as said above .. people make the effort (especially in Bistro)
-
Sadly lacking and sadly not enforced.. I have seen a UK family in football shirts and long swimming style shorts in Bistro - for a moment I thought I was at Disney Florida during the school holidays

Cavern on the Epic... Best small live music venue on any ship with decent/excellent guest bands other than the (also very good) Beatles
-
Great following this.. Loving the photos.
PS the link seems broken (well it goes to a session expired page)

Hals newest ship, Celeb and even Costa have them

Personally I think the library area is still poor.. Youll be better off in the card games room or bizarrely Bliss during the day

My dd drinks IPOs and craft beers. Does the Breakaway serve any kind of beer like this?
How about Red Stripe (for my son).
Blue Moons the nearest you will get .. To be fair its a v good Belgian style cloudy wheat beer

Yes it's strange that X hasn't reduced its exchange rate since the Brexit vote. We got the same rate as you 4 weeks ago and have also told friends who are on X soon to but their OBC.

Is it because the rates locked to when you booked.. I did the same and bought up and note I can still buy at that rate..
Just wondered if anyone had tried it who had just booked in the last cpl of weeks

Hi ... I really respect your posts most of the time but this time you are way off base.
Just went to the site in question and pulled up a D5 stateroom and it shows 25 available. Cat M - 19.
Search criteria: 7 days Eastern Caribbean with M/S Allure of the Seas from/to Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Date: 29/04/18-06/05/18
Think we are talking about NCL though
-
No need .. worse case scenario is they give you a buzzer for 10mins.. As Keith points out above it depends on the size of the group.. As a cpl we have walked in every time
Do not miss the bands in the Cavern.. The Beatles are excellent and its a much better venue and atmosphere to watch "LIVE" music.. The support "guest" bands in here as well are generally excellent if you like it loud and rocky.
I would say though arrive early and grab a nice seat and a nice drink..
For me Howl at the Moon was contrived and dull (and the venue must have been designed by someone who thought it was a bad idea to see the stage (even when the place is practically empty) or sit comfortably)... But each to there own

So when is a good time to visit Alaska.. I know Im going to have to go at some time as part of an Amtrak or VIA coast to coast..
I would rather avoid taking a pallet of cortizone along though
-
You may not have missed the boat. Exchange rates are set at the date of booking, so I suspect you will find its a good rate. I can buy OBC for by upcoming cruise at better than 1.45. Only problem is that I don't really need any. :)
. :)
Does that work for NCL? I know I can do it on celeb as they sell you dollar blocks of OBC at a set sterling price (which is a bout 1.45).. When I look on "my NCL" account they just sell it directly in dollars so my bank would be now giving me a low rate.
-
You can just book now and cancel/change everything using the tv in your studio room.. I would still book up now and on your first day (if you cant find the time you want now they release more spaces on the first day for everything)..
Then as mentioned if a group of solos decide to book something just cancel yours
-
Even though its charged to your on board account its still all in dollars remember though (as you noted) .. Not that great for us at the moment unless you were canny enough to buy lots of OBC when it touched above 1.50;) (though to be fair you would have to rack up a lage sum to make it that big an issue)
You can tip in whatever currenecy you like though.
-
Thx.. On average how much are they each?
-
I hear what you're saying however I could understand it if they would move the lower-level folks to the next level and then step ladder the rest of them up into the high-end units. Moving a low end unit to the highest level makes no sense they should be promoting those that paid more into the higher level and so on down the line so I must disagree with the concept although it may be true. As for moving an economy class airline passenger to First Class I have never heard of it.

Often happens on airlines .. especially if your travelling solo.. They never announce it they just call you to the desk at boarding
I suspect the same points apply to the cruise.. The airline or cruise line dont want to have to start shuffling people when one simple move will suffice.. wherever is overbooked gets moved
-
How can they even say its a security issue when every major check in port is selling water in 6 litre packs - After the security check - what, have they never been airside in an airport!!
I dont think its a major issue - water is available for free on board and can be picked up at every port for your daytripping..
But Bull S information is low- sad and tacky
-
Kajira..can you just walk off with your own luggage like any other cruise line.....
EDIT sorry just read your reply Miss cruiser.. That sounds fine
