Our friends have arrived in Alaska to warm weather. Fairbanks will be 23 deg C on the 9th.
Believe the same temps can happen in Jasper as well.
Sure your friends have departed by now but the temps in Alberta/Jasper area today are in the low 30's, but just a word of warning, it could just as easily be closer to 15C and even lower overnight. In this end of the woods you need to be prepared with some layers of clothing just in case!

As a Calgarian and a Canadian I enjoyed reading all the positive comments posted, I would like to say that you'd get more for your money doing the udrive vs the Rocky Mountainer Train option, with a bit of research there is so much probably too much to see between Calgary and Vancouver. Stop at the Tourism booth right in the airport for extra help!
By the way just like the Blue Mnts near Sydney, we too have a "Three Sisters" in the Rockies!

Since this is something often needed by travellers, thought I'd mention there's a special today at Dick Smith on a 3 pack for adapters to the major international destinations, US, EU and UK. $7.50 for all three. (Whereas just one often costs more than that.)
These are the decent earthed ones and so on, so no safety issues unlike the cheapies.
Order online, click and collect...

Just a note, this converts the plugs but doesn't convert the electric voltage which is different between AUS and NA

Catch a ferry across to Milsons Point and have breakfast at Ripples, right on the waterfront. It's only one ferry stop, to the other side of the harbour bridge. You could even walk back over the harbour bridge if you felt energetic.
Yum, this should definitely be on the to do list when we get to Sydney this April, thank you for posting.

We had a Boardwalk balcony cabin about 5 from the end on the Allure, yes we had good views of the Aqua shows and we could see the Ocean. What we didn't care for was the lack of privacy while on the balcony or in your cabin if the drapes were drawn.
Loved the ship, but I will be trying a different cabin the next time

I'd expect they would, since you can for example change currency in Australian dollars without issue.
I assumed that this would be the case but Travellers Checks can be a bit of a pain to cash other then in a bank these days. thanks!

Hoping not to have to bring too much cash with us for our 2 month adventure in your end of the woods, just wondered if the Cruiselines would cash a Travelers Check for us if the denomination was in Aussie Dollars.
I know that I've done this before on cruises out of the US but not sure they want to be a bank in other currencies.
I'm hoping one of you might know the answer.
Thanks either way.

Hi all,
I have read numerous times on this forum how some folks have booked their Celebrity cruise with a TA and get an extra perk like OBC.... I live in Canada and am wondering if this is just a US thing? I called my TA and she says she can't offer anything...Does anyone know if I can book with a US TA? or shed any extra light? thanks
I too have been booking thru a US TA for 10+ years now and am always getting great perks in the form of OBC from her. Yes I have to pay in US funds but it really doesn't matter as the cruiseline charges Canadian a premium for the exchange rate anyways.

We have been booked for awhile now on the Constellation for March. Today we were able to upgrade our cabin from an inside to an outside using the Giving Thanks Sale. However, they told us that it was not combinable with the Pick Your Perk deal that we had with our original booking.
When I look on the fine print of this sale, nowhere does it say that it is not combinable with other offers. However, it DOES say that on the Veterans Sale that is also currently being offered.
Does anyone know if the Giving Thanks Sale is/is not combinable with the Pick Your Perk?
Not sure about Pick your Perk but when I booked using this promo today it wouldn't allow me to use my Future Cruise Credit as those two could not be combined so I'm not surprised it wouldn't allow you to combine as well.

Has anyone used 3M Command Hooks on the cabin walls and can confirm they do not cause damage?
Any experience if the bathroom door still closes if I hang an over-the-door shoe organizer bag on the back of the door with those flat hooks it comes with?
I use the 3M hooks many times on a cruise and never had them damage the walls on a ship.

My TA is giving these to us as a perk, but she did show us their value and it was $29/pp
Park Guell Barcelona
in Spain and Portugal Ports

Park Guell is worth seeing, however I do have to say that several senior members of our group had a bit of trouble with the amount of walking and the stairs. If your group is in good health then you should be fine.
Also the two sites are some distance from each other.
