We just got off Viva and the ship is beautiful. The cabins and bathrooms are fantastic.
I can highly recommend the Indulge food hall. Hudson's MDR was very good.
If you have specialty dining I recommend you make your reservation as soon as possible. The Hasuki venue was great. We never had a problem with seating at the buffet. The observation deck on 17 is a great place to relax.
Some of the hours of operation of the eateries were less than optimal in my opinion.
The excursions were numerous and a lot of fun.
Have fun

Bottled water is available on board and it is the "Flow" brand that has no plastic.
Go to www.flowhydration.com for more information. You can buy a case and that will last all cruise.
There is fancy bottled water in the mini 'frig but I thought it was really expensive and came in glass bottles. The water from the faucets is just fine.
Book your specialty dining as soon as you are able as they fill up quickly. Hasuki 2 thumbs up.
Cagney's was meh.

We just got off Viva and the hair dryer is located in the cabin by the desk/mirror.
-
Just off Viva and the doors are NOT magnetic. Some walls in cabin are magnetic.
Like another poster mentioned, the doors are well marked for identification -
111 more days to sail on Viva.
It will be the newest ship we have ever sailed on.

This looks like a great service. Alas , Carnival does NOT participate in it.

No, "taking the bus" is using public transportation. Seattle Express drops you off along the U shape driveway area of the Pier 91 terminal.
Thanks. You just made me and my group very happy with this news. There are 3 of us getting knee replacements this fall and the two flights of stairs was worrisome.

@newtocruiseinblue, just an FYI, if you do take the bus to Pier 91, it lets you off on the bridge (overpass) and you will need to carry your luggage down 2 flights of stairs. Once at the bottom of the stairs, you will be walking about a quarter mile to the terminal building. Passengers do use the public transportation to get to Pier 91, but if you have any physical limitations, you may want to reconsider.
A question. is "Taking the bus" the same as the Seattle Express.?
The two flights of stairs will be a challenge.
Thank in advance.
Headed to Seattle this July and pier 91

We went to Stonehenge this summer and John Bull's reply is spot on.
When Going to England, Stonehenge is a must in my opinion

Does Oceania plan to sail this exact itinerary in the future ?
The ports looked great and my much better half wants to go to the British Isleswhen travel returns in 2022.
Thanks

We are taking our 7 year old grandson to Alaska in July and have begun the passport process.
Worth every penny. Plus how cool is it for a first grader to have a passport.

The only ships I know that do this from experience are Sunshine, Vista and Horizon. I assume this would also apply on Sunrise and Panorama, but don’t know that for certain. This applied to the Sunrise also. Download the APP and this will help.

We won two Ships on a Stick on the Sunrise not Sunshine as mentioned above.
I won a golf contest and my better half won a Trivia Contest.

We are headed to Alaska on Spirit and am looking forward to it.
Just got off Sunrise and it was a bit crowded at times

Hello all. Just back from the Sunrise cruise yesterday and wanted to give our opinions. We cruise a lot and this was my 25th Carnival cruise so over time I have seen changes. Some good some bad. I have sailed the Triumph and now the Sunrise and overall I liked the changes. I think people are expecting a lot and when expectations are too high you are disappointed. I feel there are no bad ships and no bad cruises it is what you make of it. So here is my take and again it is only an opinion.
PROS:
Cruise director was great
Guys Pig and Anchor BBQ- food was hot, delicious and the lines were never too long ( There are two lines one from each end so check both sides before you get in line)
Pasta Station at Cucina Capitano- lots of choices, food hot and fresh
Overall decor- very tropical, clean and welcoming
Cucina Capitano- Breakfast has made to order omelettes and a small buffet ( no one even knew it was there so it was never busy)
Red Frog Pub Bar- bartenders were great, had a ton of fun playing table shuffleboard and they had delicious looking fish bowl drinks ( I had Cheers package so not included)
Flat screen tv's in room are big and the free on demand movies were a great addition
Alchemy Bar- mixologists were super friendly, attentive and made delicious drinks
Cucina Capitano-Dinner was superb. service excellent, food delicious and for the cost best deal on the ship
Dining room Breakfast- was excellent with great choices, hot food and our service was very quick
Embarkation & Debarkation- Port Everglades has this down to a science. On the ship within 30 mins of parking the car and off the ship in about the same amount of time.
Staff was fantastic every where we went. We were pleasantly surprised by how helpful and friendly everyone was.
CONS:
Dinning Room Choices- our dining team was fantastic but the choices were limited. What I ate was great but I had a hard time finding something to get excited about.
Comedy Club- getting to the club was cumbersome and the room is small. Our comedians were not great.
Hot Tubs- kids, kids, kids no adults. I am all for kids and almost always travel with mine, but hot tubs should be for adults only. At one point 12 kids in one hot tub with no adults
Promenade Deck- I don't like that they took all the couches and chairs out of the Promenade. That was a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery and people watching.
Show Lounge- very small now and the chairs on the main floor in front of the stage are a little weird.
Showtimes- I know on a 4 day they try to cram as much in as possible but with late dining we found it hard to see a show and a comedian on the same night.
We liked this cruise and ship so much we booked the 12 day Journey cruise from New York in October. Definitely give this ship a try. She will not disappoint. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I am not a picture taker so unfortunately I don't have pictures of anything but would be happy to help how I can.
My wife, daughter and son in law just got off the Sunrise on Sat 1.25 Ports of call were Amber Cove and Grand Turk.
A storm occurred while we were on Grand Turk and that caused some problems with the excursions. The kids took a snorkeling excursion and us senior cruisers went on a tram ride around the island. Of course the storm hit as we were as far from the ship as possible.
The OP has many great points both (+) and (-). We had never been on the Triumph so we don't know the 'before and after" aspects of the remodeling.
Pros for me.
I liked the new Liquid Lounge with the chairs instead of the benches. (as previous Carnival ships I have been on had)
The comedy club lounge was awkward to get to and too few seats.
The staff. WOW . They were great. Helpful at every turn. The Behind the Fun tour was exceptional. I highly recommend it.
Embarkation and debarkation.. Easy as pie. We carried our own bags off the ship, but we pack lightly compared to others.
My daughter and SIL want to book another Carnival cruise.
Art Shake Trio featuring the electric violins were superb.
The amount of storage space in the cabin was outstanding.
Our rooms were in the 8380's neighborhood and noise from the ninth floor Lido was never a factor.
Con for me
There were times when I felt there should have been more bar tenders during busy times.
It was a fun trip and we won 2 Ships on a Stick. yeehaw.

Airplane on Sunday...
Sunrise leave on Monday.
There was one time we flew to the port on the day of departure.
Nerve wracking..never again.
Going the day before is way to go for us

I am new to Oceania and have a question about "O Life Choice".
This may seem a very basic question, but I am curious about it.
Esp when I get a brochure and the regular full fare is $5000 and the "O Life Choice" fare
is half of that. Is there some type of membership fee for "O Life Choice" ?
I looked in the FAQ part of the Oceania website, but found no answers.
Thanks in advance from this newb to all you Oceania veterans.
A cruise I am interested in is a cruise around the British Isles with stops'
in Ireland and Scotland.
-
54 days to the cruise
187 days until retirement
-
Ships on a stick from Liberty , Magic and Paradise.
Plan to add one from Sunshine on the cruise planned for Jan 2020
-
I make it easy by using cash. Deposit XXX amount with the desk and use this for "the bank".
On the next to last day, cash out and no worries about credit or debit card issues.
Each person has their own preferences and spending style. Moderation and control
should always be exercised.

76 days.
Sunrise out of Ft. Lauderdale

We have done the tour twice. As others have said, be prepared to walk and climb stairs. It gives you appreciation of all the work that goes on Behind the Fun. I highly recommend the tour. My better half booked this on the Paradise about 15 minutes after we boarded.
-
You could use the porters. We chose to carry the luggage off ourselves so we could get to the Parking Doctors quickly. We did not use the process where you place your bags in the hallway the night before debarkation.
-
Carnivals website has several excursions . We just got off the Paradise. Many on board did the string ray excursion on Grand Cayman. On Cozumel we did the Mayan ruins at Tulum tour. There are lots of choices. Have fun
Second guessing arrival time to San Juan for Viva
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
San Juan is one hour ahead of East Coast time, so keep that in mind.
Embarkation starts at 11:00 and the sail away is at 8:00.
Another poster mentioned that the port is close to the airport and that is true.
There are plenty of taxis in San Juan.
The only delay we experienced was at the TSA station in the San Juan airport.
Slow as molasses in winter.
