  1. *Roll Call*

    NCL Epic • March 31, 2018 • Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral) -

    Hello from Canada! [emoji1063]

    *Who's onboard?

    *Any GLBT [emoji304] friends?

Hopefully you will have a great "dorothy" group. . . I'm not on the Epic until January 12, 2019 It was a really good deal. And that will be my first Epic cruise. possibly my first mega ship cruise.

  2. Anyone on the Celebrity Silhouette March 4 - 11, 2018? Thinking about doing it just previous to the Melissa Etheridge cruise Royal Caribbean Serenade if the Sea. March 12-19, 2018. A rocking gay time!!!

  3. Best deal for us was the 3rd and 4th in the cabin sail for free. If NCL would offer that deal on some March sailings, we would very likely switch over to them from RCCL, but as long as they keep offering other "deals" that are of no overall value to us, we will remain with our RCCL bookings. Come on NCL, add some March 3rd and 4th for free deals out there.

I have this on my March 9, sailing coming up. I think if you book far enough out, it is offered even during March breaks, but then it disappears. I guess they have a quota, no more than. . X number of people can sail free.

  4. You're joking, right ?
No, not at all. And which part? the handing out bottles of water as we disembark on the islands? They claimed the noro virus came from public water in PR, wouldn't it be more economical to give us all bottles of water than have to deal with an outbreak shipboard? I am sure that was costly. Or the whole thing about not believing in bottled water usage? I do think that's true and it was Sheehan who pushed being less environmentally damaging. (I've been on other ships where you can't sit on your balcony due to soot. . . their bottled water is cheaper, BUT, their tap water doesn't taste as good).
  5. My understanding has always been that as a corporate decision they disapprove of bottled water. They believe their tap water is fine. And in order to further their belief yet accommodate those who insist. They make bottled water prohibitively expensive. So don't buy it. They don't want you too. However. I do think it would be a good idea to hand it out as we get off the ship in certain ports. They don't. And that is consistent with their bottled water practices.

  6. Ha! I know. It looks like 30 photos costs $250! I would never pay that. So I told the family we may have to buy a nice little photo album to put them in. And also, make sure we get photos taken!

It will probably be difficult to have that many photos. We bought the 36 photo pkg once for a ten day cruise. We had to get everything and then duplicates of a few. And my daughter is very photogenic. She will always be in front of a camera!!

  8. I happen to think the water on NCL tastes fine (I drink filtered water at home[emoji572]) so I wouldn't bother with bottled water. I thought the taste of tap water on CCL to be inferior. Not sure why as it MUST be filtered as well. Their bottled water was self branded; so was it the same water filtered a few extra times?? I really wondered. RCI includes water and specialty coffe in their soda package. This was excellent. I wish NCL would create an intermediate level like this.

  9. Traveling on the NEW Norwegian Bliss from Los Angeles to Miami, We leave on November 3, 2018. . . Yes it is a Panama Canal full transit!! on NCL's newest ship. Hoping that we will have a great group on this cruise. Anyone out there with me? (Also, the deposits are currently only $50 per person, and it is our last chance to get double loyalty points). Hope to meet a very friendly LGBTQ group!!! (we'll have to vote absentee ahead of time.)

  10. I found it somewhat annoying. In NCL we get two in our room. We can trade in at pool throughout the cruise. If we have two at the end of the week we aren't charged. Unfortunately it does not stop people from reserving chairs at the pool while they go do other things. On RCI I was afraid my towel would disappear while I was in the pool. I don't know the chances of people actually taking those scratchy blue towels.

  11. Reservations supposedly open in January....so I am waiting for info. As I have booked an Alaska cruise on Princess this coming September I will now book Bliss on her crossing. Since the cabin set up on Bliss should mirror Escape I hope to book a cabin overlooking the bow. Curious as to what air fare NCL will offer. Hope there will be a fun crowd on the Bliss.......👹

So how was your time on the Jade? I am a bit interested in the Bliss, but never really wanted to go on a mega ship. I like the Sun, Dawn, and Gem. . . and was actually told by several people how much i would not like the mega ships. (I have difficulty walking). So really thinking hard. with the Escape coming to New York, and the Gem going to New Orleans though I may have to learn to like the bigger ships.

  12. As an interracial couple, we have not had much luck in meeting other couples at the FOD gatherings.

Well, i'll be there with my daughter. .. so we are an interracial pair, though not a couple. The picture on my profile is of my two daughters, i'm a "grey haired white lady." Hopefully this will be a friendlier cruise. Are you in the roll call for this cruise?

  13. I have done this cruise before, so if you need any answers, just ask.

I have done 8 cruises on Norwegian and one on the Gem. Love Norwegian and this ship.

See you at the FOD meeting.

That's great, at least now i know the meeting really will be happening, sometimes we have failed to find each other. Last March we had a delightful group. Look forward to meeting you.
