  1. Don’t they still have specialty coffee at Sir Samuel Cunard area along with offering a few sandwiches?    This was available pre COVID and I hope it will be available in December.

  2. OP, Service Dogs (seeing eye or hearing) are permitted on Cunard including the QM2.   Other sorts of service dogs, i.e. emotional, are not recognized as service animals.   The kennels are for pets, dogs and cats, and must be reserved way in advance of a crossing as kennels are typically sold out.     World cruises are the one exception.

  3. Cunard opens their restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner so if that is what would give you a 6* experience then sail on them.   They have a buffet but the offerings are not extensive.   If you sail Britannia Grill class or in the Princess or Queen level suites you have a reserved table and your wait staff awaits your arrival whether you come early or late for my meal.   The major difference with Seabourn is there are dress standards.   If you book a Princess or Queen level suite from the U.S., drinks up to $12 are included as are gratuities and 2 hours of internet per day.

  4. Some passengers pay more for larger suites with nice balconies for lounging.    This is no different than paying for a space in the retreat.    The food and beverages can be had anywhere on the ship, you just need to request them.

  5. We enjoyed the Retreat, especially on our post COVID cruises.   Attentive service, great bottles of champagne or wine, and a good lunch.   We reserved it for the entire cruise and the staff is top notch.    If you don’t like to sit by the pool or in the sun, you won’t need to at the Retreat.    Once you set yourselves up in a Cabana, it’s yours for the day.   It may not be something every passenger wants but it was great for us.

  6. I have not had a problem yet with the Cunard site for my 12/3 cruise although we are not yet able to do luggage tags or boarding passes.   It’s been fine for booking excursions, spa, etc.   Are there any cruise lines with satisfactory WEB sites.

  7. We eat in the Colonnade for Breakfast-and often for Lunch and have never utilized the buffet.   The sit down menu offered is limited but is still fine.    We enjoy the tables outside and those at the windows so have never been around a buffet crowd.    Since we sat in the same areas we had staff who knew our needs so we always had the right drinks.    Timely service was never a problem.

  8. It’s odd, or maybe by design, that there is a huge difference in the Grill cabins on the QM2 vs. the obviously inferior Vista class including the Victoria.   The lowly Q4 suites on the QM2 have a guest bathroom so I am amazed that a Q2 does not have one on the Victoria.  Obviously, very different ships with the QM2 offering a much better suite experience.    If you were to compare a Celebrity Sky or Celebrity Suite with the lowest Queens Grill Suite on the QM2 you would find the QM2 a much better experience.

  9. Testing will be required if there is a certain level of COVID onboard or if the countries on the nest sailing require testing.    Either of those circumstances can change on a moments notice so B2B cruisers be aware as there are no guarantees you can remain with the ship if you test positive.

  10. Interesting, now passengers who can afford to spend almost 1K each are complaining that they didn’t see anything!    Guess Seabourn needs to get Disney’s help so sea life can be staged along submarine dives and routes.    There has never been a guarantee of seeing wildlife on excursions.    The passengers on the submarines can still say they were in a submarine at a depth of 300 meters so they have bragging rights.

  11. My husband uses artificial sweetener and had no problems getting sweetener out of the new dispenser.   He only uses a little, non ear a full pack.   The sugar dispenser was only a problem when the sugar was below a certain level.   We have recently been on the Venture and the Ovation.
